Margaret Merrett has been working in the fitness industry for over 25 years, and is a fully certified Pilates Teacher and a BCRPA Personal Trainer. She is enthusiast, an always cheerful. Classes are kept small enough that even though ythere are others in the room, she gives individual attention and is always quick to modify exercies to your particular needs. She offers reformer pilates, matt pilates, spinning classes, and more..... I am hooked on the reformer pilates because you can't cheat while doing the exercises and her routines are always varied so it's never the same thing twice. In the past I have gone to a traditional gym and always got bored and never saw the results I wanted. With reformer pilates, it only takes a few weeks and you will see the results. What I notice about Margaret's studio that sets her apart from many of the others is her quality of instruction and standards for her other instructors. I've been to other fitness studio's whose client base is based on the following of the owner/operator. The thing I found;however, is when the owner/operator is away or has a sub, I have always been left feeling like "that was a waste of my time because _____________ was not here to instuct." With Margaret's other instructors or the rare time she has a sub, I am NEVER left feeling that. She has high stanards for herself including her other instructors. Exceptional fitness instruction all-round.

At their new location, the services, staff and equipment continue to be stellar. I particularly love the infrared sauna. It is so great for your skin and along with an exercise regime minimizes cellulite. People are always shocked to hear I am in my 60's. I attribute this to good genetics and being a regular at Body Works. If you have never belonged to a gym, don't worry as the staff is wonderful and will make you feel right at home.

She is trained to level 3 Pilates, which outclasses my humble Pilates Mat Level 1. Her studio has specialty equipment like the Pilates reformer and the Cadillac, along with the padded mats. There is nowhere to hide in a crowd, like some studios, so you are guaranteed to get the instruction (and results) that you came for. I had the privilege of one-to-one training as well as training with a local group of triathletes. While that workout caught my attention, I also noticed that my right hip (that I had injured in a motorcycle accident) stopped clicking and my lower back stiffness took a holiday. Note: Most of the parking is taken up by the Fitness World, so you are better off parking on the road near the White Spot.
