Do not work with Sun Common. We believe in solar but the company is terrible to work with. We have had to pay over a thousand dollars (and still counting) to the electric company since half of our panels have not been functioning for the last 2 months. During that time we have called at least 5 times to get them to schedule service to fix them, and they say they still don't have techs available to do the work and still no time estimate. We will have to pay the techs to do the work, and they said we could pay 25% more to get closer to the top of the list! When we bought the solar panels 10 years ago they said service was included. We are so fed up and stuck - I recommend you work with any other company! read more

Had an inverter fail that should be covered by warranty, it took 3 weeks to get them to confirm that failure and now it's been over 4 weeks and no word yet on a replacement. I figure this has cost me at least $1000 in solar production this year. read more

This review is specifically based on my experience with JT Lukens at Sun Common. We got solar before the end of 2020, so we could qualify for the 26% tax rebate. He was simply amazing and he made us feel like we were his only customer. He explained things in great detail, so that we understood the process and was always patient with the hundreds of questions we had. Frankly, he is what sold us on Sun Common. Our solar started producing savings on February 23rd. Prior to that it was covered in snow. Most people get their solar in the spring for that reason, so that they can get immediate savings. It it started to produce savings on February 23rd to today March 5th. We already have 121.7 kWh which is equivalent to $673 dollars!! We've had SunCommon do two solar installs for us now. They are great to work with, offered us top quality products, and the solar has worked just like they said it would. They are local, but also big enough to be really professional, best of both worlds. We needed more solar because we have solar heating and cooling, also from them (heat pumps), and electric vehicles. Our roof was full so we installed one of their beautiful solar canopies and love it! Our most recent installation with SunCommon was a two powerwalls (batteries) to keep our home safe and secure when the power goes out. read more
