Stopping into this quaint yellow barn has brought joy to mine and my mom's life over the last couple of years. It is dazzling with fun finds, from candles, soaps, jewelry, and perfumes, to cards, and sweet treats. With welcoming little rooms of kitchen goodies, baby essentials, and men's goods, it's nearly impossible to walk out of here without something special. Magpie is a one-stop shop for any gift-giving occasion. I've put together adorable baby shower gifts, picked up unique finds for other guys, and put together a fun kitchen-themed gift basket for a chef in my life! I highly recommend making the drive for holiday shopping -- they have great stocking stuffers -- or stopping by after a hike at Flying J park, which is minutes away from the shop.

And THEN, because I had spent $100 I was given a very nice sweatshirt for free! Oh wow! Nice selections, wonderful shop keeper, and best prices ever!

Sadly, though, they are quite overpriced and I think it's fair to point that out as customers come in to purchase items that are seemingly marked down for clearance by up to 70%. On a recent visit, we were attracted to a single cup coffee maker that was marked down by 35% from $285 to $185 - I curious as to how this price matched up with online prices and quickly discovered that the same coffee maker retails for $85! An upscale, all-stainless version of this same coffee maker retails for $185 but that's not the version being sold at the Village Gourmet. So - buyer beware that that the mark-downs they are offering are not at all what they seem.
