I've always enjoyed visiting the Village Gourmet, love the little chocolate store in the back and I'm sad to see that they are closing the store. Sadly, though, they are quite overpriced and I think it's fair to point that out as customers come in to purchase items that are seemingly marked down for clearance by up to 70%. On a recent visit, we were attracted to a single cup coffee maker that was marked down by 35% from $285 to $185 - I curious as to how this price matched up with online prices and quickly discovered that the same coffee maker retails for $85! An upscale, all-stainless version of this same coffee maker retails for $185 but that's not the version being sold at the Village Gourmet. So - buyer beware that that the mark-downs they are offering are not at all what they seem. read more

This store really does have everything one could want! Whether it's new fancy pots, beautiful cast-iron, a rack for the kitchen, fun plates, holiday decor, beautiful cards, aprons, chocolates, fake flowers, gadgets or utensils, they have it all! The women that run the place are very knowledge, extremely helpful, and kind. I bought a bunch of kitchen pots and a hanging rack this week and they even helped me bring everything to my car! 5-star service and literally a one-stop shop if you need something for a friend's birthday, the holidays, a house warming party, graduation celebration, or even decor to host an event of your own. It's my favorite place in Evergreen. Love the ladies & love this shop - it's a must visit! read more

We're fortunate to have a well-stocked kitchen and gift store like The Village Gourmet in Evergreen. It offers a great selection of kitchen appliances, gadgets and basics. Also a terrific array of gifts such as gourmet foods, truffles, coffee, candles, lotions, soaps, aprons, etc., etc. There is a special children's gift section too. And don't forget that sales tax is only 4.5%-about half what you'd pay down the hill. Also they have a great annual sale with almost everything 20% off-I think it's Jan./Feb. timeframe-good time to stock up on kitchen items and treats. Rude staff. I was not greeted when I entered and the store clerk was rude and snobby and not helpful in the least. She lost out on a large potential sale. It looks like a great store but I will not give them my business. read more

Thank you for being open!! I needed to have the ability to make rather large quantities of foods like, smoothies and soups for a sick family member and two neighbors, our local Walmart & Target store did not have what I needed. Village Gourmet helped me immensly, they not only had several high quality food processors and blender models available to choose from but were also so knowledgeable and helpful with all my questions. Thank you for helping in my time of need!! And for anyone reading this and judging; I am self-isolating (have been for 3 weeks) and I drop the food off at my family and friends front doors, I never have contact with them and I am not in contact with the outside world. Additionally, I paid for my food processor and blender over the phone and a friend, who is an essential employee at another local business, picked up the food processor (with gloves and a mask on) for me and left it at my front door. I hope anyone reading this will take a moment to curb judgements and remember that we are all in this together, we are all doing the best we can. Hate weakens us all, compassion and kindness can heal. Dear Toni B., May you stay well and not need the kindness or services of others in your time of need. Amidst this "plan"demic. If you don't want people actually shopping in your store than stay closed, YOU AREN'T ACTUALLY OPEN!!! Went in to buy my child a gift for his birthday and crotchy Ladies shamed him for touching a toy and yelled at him that now they would "Have to sanitize EVERYTHING! Horrible horrible treatment today with ZERO awareness of how they were treating their customers. I wanted to support our local business, but guess what? I can buy your overpriced trinkets on Amazon without being treated like s#*t! Good luck with your "business model" Furthermore... if you are not "kid friendly", then why bother to sell children's and babies toys/goods??? Again, way too many options for shopping to be subjected to this completely rude treatment. You should know your customer base pays your bills, rent, etc... keep being rude, see where that gets you. read more

Everything you need for a kitchen but high prices. Look for sales! The sweet shop unfortunately has chocolate truffles that look gorgeous but taste like they've been sitting for some time. Expecting soft Grenache center but it seemed tough and hard to bite. At $4/each thought it would be better/fresher. read more

Don't get me wrong. This place has an assortment of *everything*. From little knick knacks to true weapons in the kitchen that any home chef would lust after, they've got it. I was even excited to see a little chocolate shop in the back! The prices were on the steep side, save for a few choice items. My real beef with this place comes with finding many things in their food section that were expired. Not by a month or two, but by a couple years. And it's not like this went unnoticed!! The expired stuff was marked down, just a buck or two in most cases, and still on the expensive side. Dudes, you need to cull your products. Seeing so much expired merch on your shelves made me avoid your chocolate section entirely. Yep, looks a little fresher, but how can I trust those truffles after I picked up a bottle of hot sauce, dated "Use By 4/13" and on sale for $8. Nope. Good luck. read more

I love this place! Wonderful source for kitchen supplies and wares (really it's so much more than that), and they have an extra area now with kids' gifts and other gifts. Perfect place to go for that special birthday present or shower gift. The selection is great, and I can always find something beautiful or unique. This is one of those local stores that I really treasure and try to support. read more
