I…read morerequested a promotion that I found on the calendar for $79 that included exam, x-rays and cleaning. They did my x-rays and said I needed a deep cleaning that was over $1000. So I told them they would just do the exam and x-rays and they told me they would charge $100. I asked to speak to the manager and the manager assistant told me they would no longer do the exam and they only charged $75 for some x-rays and I was left without the exam and cleaning. Basically they stole my money because in the same calendar there is another coupon with the promotion that includes free x-rays and consultation for new clients. Please avoid waste your time and your money (don't go to this place).

I have TMJ so having a dentist who makes sure not to put too much pressure on your jaw is so necessary. He is seriously the kindest most gentle patient Dentist ever. I have had multiple…read moreincidents of shoddy work from Dr. Black, and while he was interpersonally kind when I came back to get them fixed, his actual dentistry skills were lacking. Each time I was still left with unnecessarily sharp edges, broken fillings (one fell out literally in the parking lot after the appointment), and temporary crowns that fell out multiple times (including, again, falling out in the parking lot the moment I stepped out the door. I understand temporary crowns are *temporary*, but these fell out almost immediately, which I've never experienced with other dentists). I have spent hours over the course of several months in his office with my teeth worse for the wear, until I finally went to another dentist who replaced my filling. He noted that it fell out because Dr. Black didn't actually get the entire cavity cleaned out, which is likely why the filling didn't take. Despite paying hundreds of dollars upfront for this dental work, I received a bill from Dr. Black's office (for some reason it was in my husband's name, not mine, even though the work was my own) for an additional fee that insurance had apparently not covered (which I understand happens and is not necessarily Dr. Black's fault). When we called to ask if there was any leeway in not paying this additional fee given the shoddy work done by Dr. Black, the receptionist blamed us for not calling sooner and said we were not being "fair" to Dr. Black by going to another dentist to fix the work he had done poorly. When I explained that I have limited time off work and did not want to spend it sitting in the chair of a dentist who had already messed up several times when I was in intense pain from the filling falling out, she still insisted that I had made the wrong choice by going to another dentist first. Also, Dr. Black made unnecessarily sexist comments, such as remarking that women "can't handle" the pain of teeth whitening as well as men can (and research shows that doctors dismissing women's pain in this way is a major cause of medical malpractice) and that women don't know anything about cars or oil changes. When I tried to gently correct this rhetoric by stating, "I actually drove my own car to this appointment and I've managed my own oil changes for years," he smiled, disagreed with me, and held to the sexist rhetoric. Also, I have never given written consent for them to share my medical records with my husband, but somehow they joined our files (which is, I assume, why the bill came in his name instead of mine), despite us having different last names and never requesting that they do this. My assumption is that they found out we were married and use some sort of outdated "head of household" protocol to put family members together under the name of the "man of the house", but according to federal privacy laws they should not be sending my medical information to another adult unless I've filled out a HIPPA consent form (which to the best of my memory I have never done at this office). Save yourself some time, money, trouble, and sexism by finding a different dentist.

The dentist' never addressed me personally, and while removing a tooth talked to the nurse about…read morewhat good grades he got at school. I asked to speak with the owner, and was surprised when I was hung up on. I called him back and back and pleaded for them to help me relieve the pain of the affection. From what I underssevere as the one I had need to be addressed, otherwise they can become a hazard for the rest of the body. When I mentioned this to the receptionist she laughed. She laughed and said whatever. And then hung up. Now the work that the dentist did on my mouth over the past three years, has left me with what is called chronic ulcers. The surrounding teeth or chipped by the dentist and these chips caused white painful sores on the bottom of my tongue. Sores it to this day have not healed. Sores that the dentist ignored, until I asked him about them, and he referred me to someone else. Nothing was done to alleviate the pain from the sores, sores that I still have to this day. Chronic is caused by the dentist by his work, and were not treat it. I was under the understanding that if the Dennis knew something was wrong with something in your mouth, they have the obligation to tell you. At Family Legacy Dental this is not true. The dentist is there to visit with the nurses, the dentist is there too except Medicaid, did not except the fact that the price they receive is lower. The dentist does not work with people who are individuals without support systems and have disabilities like myself and turning us onto the street with a dangerous infection which ultimately required me to go to a doctor, who looked at it, said that the gums were infected, and gave me an antibiotic. He then referred me to a dentist in cares, one Dr. Wiest in Provo. To make a long story short, this dentist does not care about the patients the owner of this practice does not care about the patients the receptionist and the nurses, all of the same type age and ethnicity, do you not care about the patients. A dentist who could have written me a script and sent me on my Way, chose to allow me to leave with an infection the size of a golf ball, very close to my eye sinus and was actually growing to the other side of my face, with that too bad so sad, and a message from the owner which said we do not want to treat you again and you are no longer welcome in our practice. They will not release my entire records to me, even though I paid for them, obviously, they are going to give me copies of papers that I still have that don't really explain anything other thanThe work that they did on my mouth. They would not give me the x-rays, and they would not entertain for even a second helping me. He caused me grief, and the dentist or the owner neither one of them had the courage to confront me one on one. They let the staff tell me. The staff laughed when I mentioned how dangerous my infection was, and the Doctor Who finally did treat me and my family doctor told me that a dentist who operates an office like that is there for the money not for the health of the patients melts. He said it's a shame that that dentist is allowed to practice, and that everybody on Medicaid is basically forced to use that dentist because of the limited amount of doctors that would except Medicaid. I admit I did change several appointments two different times I did have the Covid which required me to change two or three appointments, and then my insurance changed in January which left me in the dark as to whether or not he could still be my dentist. In an emergency situation he chose to not help me, even though all he would've had to do was write a prescription for an antibiotic. I believe this dentist is prejudiced against those who use Medicaid, because he does not receive his listing price for what he is doing. The owner, doesn't care about anything but collecting money that isn't covered by insurance. I appreciate the fact that the Dennis time is valuable, I know his school is expensive, and I know the owner has a business to run. However, they are authority figures, working in a practice where people are desperate for help. They abuse the desperation, andWhen I asked them why they didn't give me a warning first they said we are giving you a warning first for sending it to you in the mail today. I'm confused as to why I get the warning after being told I can't come back. The name of the business is Family Legacy Dental there was no family ambience in the practice And legacy is a word they used to disguise their indifference to the patient's health. People have free will, you may go to the dentist and you may have a good experience. as a disabled gentleman I feel I should be given a little bit of slack, especially since I paid for everything including the days that I missed. Once again good luck if you choose this dentist, they don't care about you.
