We brought our dog Rosie to Sundance on a recommendation from a coworker of my father's since we were heading out to Angola for a couple of days and could easily drop her off in Hamburg. It's definitely a drive from where I live but I'd say it was pretty worth it. We brought our puppy in the afternoon; Rosie didn't have her Bordetella vaccination when we spoke to them over the phone, but they were able to give it to her when we went to drop her off. We were able to bring her own puppy food from home, and a few of her toys. The workers were quick to get everything processed and get the puppy into a kennel. 'Playtime' was an additional fee (only $5), but all other care was included in the package. She was given her food and water frequently, of course, and each kennel had an opening near the back that led to a small fenced-in area outside (this was kept open all day so that the dogs could go outside whenever they needed to!). We were shown around the area and got to look at the artificial grass outdoors, and everything looked clean and taken care of. The woman who showed us around even seemed a little embarrassed to find some dog droppings that hadn't been picked up yet, assuring us that she tries to keep things all cleaned up. The other dogs in the kennel at the time all seemed so happy, so I think their contentedness can speak for how great this kennel is. My puppy was eager to be back home with me, but I think that's only because she isn't used to being left alone like that. If we ever end up going somewhere that we can't bring a dog to, we will certainly leave her there again. I could tell by how busy the workers were that they are very dedicated to their work, which is to be expected when working with dozens of different dogs every day. Our GSD was a rescue and is very timid in new environments. He has really come out of his shell at Sundance. Took my dog for a bath and nail clipping and the owner worked on my dog. My dog honestly was never so clean and shiny and her nails were perfect. Every other place has never done a job this good! I've boarded her here as well and you get the most indoor outdoor space for your dog for the price without having to pay an additional fee for more time outside the kennel. They don't nickel and dime you for everything and my dog seems happy. read more

Louie is a rescue and a little guy. I was so afraid of having him stay somewhere that would leave him feeling like we'd put him back in a shelter. Sundance Kennels was the answer, seriously. He was pampered beyond belief - we know because we got to watch him on the app. We had two camera angles (and we checked every ten minutes because we are nuts). Not only was he happy when we picked him up, but we know he was happy his entire stay. We are SO GRATEFUL. This will absolutely be his home away from home. read more

The grooming services at this kennel are fantastic! My girl is generally happy to walk in the door and, although she would prefer to leave with me, she readily stays. It's so nice to have her working with me rather than against me like she did at another, highly celebrated, groomers in Allentown. When she decides that she isn't going to go, there isn't much I can do other than pick her up and at 80lbs, well...it's awkward especially in the winter. I really never understood the reaction but, given her mild manner, I figured that there must be something wrong with the situation. When I arrive to pick her up, she is happy to see me but is in no hurry to leave. The cut is the best I have seen on her thus far and very reasonably priced. I hate when a dog's haircut costs more than double mine. Finally, the owner is friendly and contentious and I am completely comfortable leaving my girl in her care and that's the most important thing of all. read more

So last week we called Sundance about boarding our dog while we go out of town. I spoke to the employee on the phone and she asked if our dog was up to date on his vaccinations. Not sure, I told her that I'd have to check. She mentioned that they can do the kennel cough vaccine there if he needed one. After speaking on the phone, we also drove out to tour the place and and again spoke to the employee and never did any policy involving a vet come up. I called our vet to check and Gus did need the KC vaccine and was also due for a yearly physical. So, I brought him to the vet. On drop off day at Sundance I brought a copy of Gus' vaccines in and showed them to the woman at the front desk. I assumed she was the owner. As Gus waited in the car, and only hours before we were to leave for vacation, did this woman inform me that she had a policy of not taking dogs that had been to the vet within 2 weeks of boarding. Again, I spoke on the phone to an employee and physically toured the kennel with an employee a week prior and NEVER was told about this policy. This information is also NOT ON the website. Not only did she refuse to take our dog, she then refused to give us our $50 deposit back. My wife contacted her via FB and the owner actually admitted the info was not on the website and also admitted that her employees need better training on what to tell customers. After that, she still refused to refund our $50. Then she blocked my wife and deleted the comments. Luckily, my wife took a screen shot before the owner deleted the conversation. All we simply wanted was our refund. This owner has been extremely unprofessional and stole $50 from us for services that were never rendered. After seeing how this place is run, I'm actually relieved that I didn't leave our dog with this woman while we are out of town. read more

I have boarded my puggle here many times and have NEVER had a bad experience. She is always well taken care of and we always have peace of mind while we are away. The owner is always accommodating to us even with last minute grooming requests. I have recommended Sundance to family and friends without hesitation. read more

I will never let my dog stay here ever again. He stayed there 1 week and came home lethargic, not eating and drinking a lot. Took him to the vet found multiple makes all over his neck that as of today no one knows what happened and I was stuck with a $200+ bill and the owner has not taken any responsibility even though this happened while in there care. I also found out that most of the dog wear bark collars while they are there. I just want to give everyone the heads up to never let there dog stay here. read more

Worst experience, beware if u have an unfortunate incident of yr dog being brought there by dog patrol for Hamburg. You and yr pet will b made feel like u r a criminal and not worthy of being treated with respect. Experiencing this from the owner, I wld never ever EVER recommend. My older dog got terrified home alone while neighbors thru a July 4th party, with booming fireworks. I wld have never left her if I knew. I have taken my Black Lab to Sundance Kennels and Donna for 8 years and would not take him anywhere else. I cannot understand the negative comments found on here. Our dog has come home happy and clean everytime! Donna and her staff are always professional and courteous. My dog is a barker and we have trouble with him when we go camping. Donna recommended the citronella bark collar and what a difference. One time he barked, got a little spray of citronella which is not harmful to our Toby or to the anyone else. She made our camping trips so much less stressful for us and Toby. Thank you Donna for having a place we can leave our dog and have no worries:) read more

Our dog Lucy has stayed several times, most recently over the holidays 12/13. She has also been groomed there. The staff is very competent, professional and most important kind to our older dog. I would highly recommend them. By the way, as far as my experience goes, they do not use "bark collars" and treat the dogs very humanely and gently. Was Lucy glad to get home? You bet.
