The only reason I can't give this location 5 stars is from a "customer service" experience I had with one of the girls. I went in around 8 to try to use the massage chair and then to tan. The girl was very hesitant in all her answers with me and then just straight up rude. She told me someone was about to use the massage chair after they tanned, which I thought was odd... why couldn't I just use it and then they use it when they're done tanning. It was just off all together. I don't regularly go to this location, but I have a couple of times and never have been made to feel uncomfortable like I did this time. That's the loss of one star. They equipment here is good, so I can't ding them anymore. read more

This spa was a vibe. I went for a free trial with a friend and it was interesting touring the shop and seeing how many different services they have, all affordable, especially for membership price. I tried the red light skin therapy and of course since I only did it once, I can't really review how affective it is but the light is really bright and makes your skin feel tingly. The girl at the front desk who greeted me and gave me a tour was friendly and informative, answering all my questions. I really like this spot! The only downside is that the walls are super thin so I can hear people opening/closing their doors like it's next to my ear and hear the other machines making noises, especially one where it said aloud the options and it's start and finish time of the service. This company is an absolute mess- I have not been in the state for over 5 years. Cancelled my tanning membership- after they sold me expired tanning lotion that was $100 a bottle. This was back in 2020- now.... In 2025- they still try every month for the past year n half to take our $79.00 - my bank has sent hem a warning for not calid contract and consumer rights. Im forced to pay a fee to my bank for stop payments and holds due to unauthorized charges. Now we go for legal action.. contact me if you have had the same issues!! Its illegal and I have called to cancel- went in before I left to cancel- wrote a email to cancel.. just disappointed in how they treat patrins that were loyal when they just had the two locations.. New to the area so I thought I'd try this place. Got a spray tan and it was pretty nice so I requested the free spa week on their website to see if I liked the other services. Had to give my name and everything for the appointment so I was surprised when I showed up and was told that my free week had expired (as you can see it doesn't say on the email that it expires). I had been waiting for this treatment all week and was pretty excited to try it out. "Did you request this in June?" the girl behind the counter asked. Keep in mind June was literally 3 days ago but yes I had requested it on June 11th. I say "yes" and I'm informed that my free week expired but "right now we are waving our initiation fee if you want to become a member!" I mean don't get me wrong the girl was nice and all. But one, why doesn't it say it expires on the email? Two, why didn't anyone make sure it wasn't expired before letting me make the appointment and drive all the way down there? (I said I was using the free week when I made the appointment over the phone) And three, why would I sign up for a membership when I haven't been able to experience anything at the spa? That's what the free week is designed to do and I really did want to sign up. Sound like Sundays is using the old bait and switch with the "free week" and hoping people won't notice. Love this place. I go to this Sunday's and the one in NN at least 2x week and I'm a huge fan. They have a fantastic selection of different levels of beds (all reasonably priced, but basically there is a package for every budget!). The fans are probably the best I've ever seen in a tanning bed, esp in the upper level beds. Each bed has it's own music player which offers 5 or 6 different "channels" and most have the ability to connect an AUX for your iPod as well. Beds and rooms are always clean. They're a decent size too, with a chair, a small shelf and a hook on the back of the door for your stuff. Best part about Sunday's is the staff. I have never gone in and been greeted with anything but enthusiasm and cheerfulness and I'm so impressed that they are able to remember the names of all their customers after only a few visits (some of them even remembered my name as early as my 2nd visit)! They offer great tanning packages that allow you to pay month-to-month where the monthly fee is automatically debited from your checking account, which I love! No need to even think about it!! :) They also offer some fabulous deals, especially around the holidays, where you can prepay for a year of tanning and save a bunch of money! In addition, any tanning packages you buy, or even lotions, will give you Blue Bucks, which are basically credits that you can use to put towards lotions or upgrades (to higher level beds). read more

Great tanning salon. They are always so sweet and helpful. Not one time have I gone in and all the employees been extra nice and in a good mood. I've been going since they opened in Hampton I can't even well you how long that's been, maybe 8-10 years I think. The salon is always top notch sparkling clean and neat. They upsell me every time but aren't pushy and annoying about it. The beds are high quality and bulbs always seem new. The spray beds are the sh**. I have bad allergies to literally everything and the self Tanner they use doesn't bother me. The other spa amenities are amazing too. I recommend the family plan. It's 102.88 with tax a month and I split it with my mom and boyfriend. read more

I wasn't sure that I'd use a full unlimited membership, but I went ahead and got it. I use it much more than expected and the girls at the desk are always friendly and helpful. No nonsense, they get you in and out without delay when possible. The cocoons are great, the bees are always clean and there's no question about whether the beds have been thoroughly cleaned, which is reassuring. The first time I walked into Sunday's for tanning and spa services was 3 years ago.. the young ladies that work there were so friendly and knew exactly what they were talking about. Ms Megan helped me find not only a system of tanning that was perfect for the complexion of my skin and lotions that would best suit me but straight away offered me a tour and showed me each bed and spa service, what made each one unique and then went on to tell me of their great deals and packages. I was in awe from the start. 3 years later.. I am here at Sunday's still in awe as if It was the first visit! Since Reopening from the quarantine I've come back and they have upgraded tanning beds and even more exciting... new spa services and the All Access Package is where it's at!!! I have shopped around and you can't get a good tanning package with all the different level beds that they offer at Sunday's for under a $100 and with the All Access Package that I have upgraded to I get unlimited UV Luxury Tanning, Unlimited Spray Tanning and all 8 Spa Services each and every month with product discounts and the price is right for my personal package at around $58/month! They always have a great deal on their lotions and their clothing line and bags have become 90% of my wardrobe with all the cute selections they get in. I use all of their Youngevity products I can get my hands on with the fave of mine being the Electrofuel and Trim Sticks!! Anytime I want some "Mommy Down Time" or want to pamper myself I just head in to Sunday's!! They have 21 locations but I gotta say... the Hampton location is my all time favorite!! The young ladies that work at Sundays have become like family to me as they have to so many other customers and dare I say they are a light to the community with their beautiful smiles, welcoming personalities, knowledge, energy and eager helpfulness!! Thank you Sunday's for being the best part of a whole lot of my day's in the last three years!!! I walked in and asked for a Crash course, I can't remember the young ladies name but she was AMAZING, talked me through any and every question I had about the beds/times/lotions/what's best for me. I swore I would never tan at a Sunday's again (see my previous review for the one in Chesapeake). Anyway, I moved out to this area and was very limited in the amount of tanning beds to go to so I sucked it up and went to Sunday's. My experience at this location has been nothing but positive since I joined. Every single employee has been extremely friendly and welcoming and the beds are ALWAYS clean. I am very big on beds being clean. You can also tell they change their bulbs regularly. The employees are always willing to let me know about sales and specials on their lotions but they have never once been pushy or made me feel uncomfortable about not buying something. They recently offered 11 days of free upgrades to any level of beds for all members and I thought it was great that they promoted it and didn't try to upsell the tanning packages too. Overall this location is clean and the employees are awesome and very friendly. I would definitely recommend tanning at this location. read more

All of their products and services are reasonably priced for how amazing they are! I've used Blue Box Tanning at other locations (Norfolk and Va Beach) and had a good experience. Since I moved to Hampton recently, I decided to try this location. I must have gotten a completely different staff than the reviewer above. I've tanned off and on for years, and grew up at the beach so I am familiar with visiting a tanning salon and average prices. I was greeted by one lady at the desk, but when I told her that I really just wanted one session at this time and I wouldn't be purchasing a package, she stopped helping me and referred me to someone else, having to go through the whole sign in process again. After lots of selling, from lotions to upgrade beds to required purchasing of glasses (I'm used to this being a complimentary service), my total for one ten minute session was........$28. I was baffled at how sleezy the selling is at this establishment. By the way, a basic bed is only $6 here, but they won't tell you that. I think they hope you have no idea and will actually pay that. Just be highly aware of this establishment, and be persistent in what you actually want. Try to use other locations if possible, never had this kind of problem at any other Blue Box location. read more

This is the only tanning I could find in the area, so pretty much didn't have a choice. Luckily, it's a great tanning salon! It's clean, there are a lot of different options and products and most importantly the employees are nice, cheerful and helpful! I have had a pleasant experience with every visit! The only thing that takes it down a star is the prices are pretty steep but with little competition of other chains they can do that. But with that being said, I'm glad I get great service and products for the money! read more

Please please please don't give out your credit card info to these people. They will continue to charge you after you ask to cancel. First trick is to claim you asked for a short term "seasonal suspension" . When you go in to complain they will politely promise to remove the charges and offer you a complimentary tanning in their upgraded model or spray tan as an apology. Next month you will be charged again and when you complain and question that you will be told you were there tanning in the last 30 days ??? What the HECK !! Complain more and then the "District Manager" or owner calls you and threatens to take you to collections and I quote RUIN YOUR CREDIT !!!! So then you will need to cancel your credit card and re-do all of your legitimate bills because of the way Blu Box SCAMS people ! Beds were ok while using the facility and sales people are Commissioned to sell snake oil products. I bought 2-3 bottles of $25 super tanning cream . They turn out to be $3 - $5 lotion sold at many other stores. Worst scam was being sold "Primer" before spray tanning. I was convinced that I needed $22 primer before a spray tan. This was ridiculous after I researched it. They sold me tanning oil/lotion that coated my skin so all the spray tan came off on my clothes and furniture after leaving. First time they said it takes 2-3 applications . 2nd time when my husband asked me why my clothes were brown I told him and he explained that spray tan will NEVER stick to oil or lotion. Made sense then as you are instructed to use lotion and oil around finger tips and dry areas to prevent heavy staining while spray tanning . Wow did I feel silly :-( I am sorry I was just gullible and I trusted these people . I have spoken to 2 of the employees since and have been enlightened that they are under heavy pressure to sell on commission and make almost nothing if they do not sell upgrades and tanning creams and products. They also admit they have next to ZERO training. They just repeat what they here colleagues say (or make up) that works to close sales. I would be very carefull buying a used car or something of that magnitude but this was going to be just a tanning package. Well they took me for a bundle and had far less morals than the lowest of the low used car companies. I am just warning everyone Stay Away !!!! read more

This is more about how corporate runs this business. Very rude women I spoke with about a refund and how they charge after you cancel your membership. The lady insulted me about her being in this business for 5 years and she's never had this conversation. Lack of respect towards others and also while I was on hold I could here the manager and employees chatting. I will never again go back to this place and recommend others to think twice about this joke of a tanning salon. The tanning beds here are very nice and I would even go to say that the packages are REASONABLE in price... but a business doesn't thrive strictly off of guality of their product. The women who work here seem to be fresh out of high school with very little respect for their customers. Their attirudes are very snotty and better than thou and trying to ask a simple question will get you the "I can't even" stare... I tried to cancel my membership and was sold on freezing my account where I was told that the $5/mo. Would go towards the full month when I reactivate my account, so if I had it frozen for 5 months, thats $25 that would go towards paying my $45/mo. When I reactivate... I signed the paper and off I went. When I asked again a few days later, another lady told me that the money could only be used for in store purchases. I don't like being lied to, and I've worked in sales before so I'm sure these ladies are working off commission and will try to bend and twist what they say to make it benefit them. Nothing but good experiences at this location. All the girls are so friendly and informative with all lotions and other products. I have been tanning there almost a year, and love it here! They offer so many awesome things including: 6 levels of tanning, a fit wrap, two spray tan machines, a beauty angel, massage chairs, and a cocoon bed. All of that is included in the membership I have for $78 a month. Which is completely worth it for all that's included. read more

I stopped by to ask about their tanning options. Wanted to know if they could do anything less than a 1yr or 6 month contract bc I would only be living in this area for 3 months. I was told that I could sign up for a 3 month membership, which would be till august 24. I asked when would I need to come in by to fill out a cancellation form, was told "oh no need to. That is what is great about our 3 month package. It will automatically cancel on August 24th UNLESS you come in & ask to extend." I wasn't given any copies of of this "3 month package" nor a copy of what I signed. Four months later they are still withdrawling from my account & when I call to speak with a manager KIMBERLY tells me there isn't one so when I tell her why I'm calling she calls me a liar (me, the customer) & tells me that nobody at this business would ever tell a customer such a thing. I run 3 restaurants & if any of my employees were to ever dare call one of my customers a liar let alone be so rude to them as Kimberly was, they would be out of a job. You should be ashamed! Kimberly after calling me a liar tells me that I need to come in & fill out the cancellation form (that 4 months ago I was told I wouldn't have to do) & it takes 30 days to go through so they will still withdrawal yet for another month. I only tanned at this location a total of two times during these 4 months, I get lied to then get called a liar. Nice, real professional! read more
