Look no further. You do not have to! I am the pickiest person in the world as far as spray tanning is concerned and I have finally met my match! I've tried every lame, not up to par, place in this city and I will tell you, they all suck compared to Laura. I came to NYC as a true Californian that wasn't giving up her long platinum blonde hair and super tanned ways for anyone. Unfortunately, it's been a struggle as my favorite airbrush tan place was light years away and I had to make do. So I readily admit, I've been getting my airbrush on at all sorts of subpar places because I had no choice. This review is for makeup only...although the self-done tan Lauren had when we met for my appointment was a great selling point for using her tanning services in the future! I hadn't had a pro makeup job since I was sixteen, so was very apprehensive. And, at 45 years old, was concerned about getting a makeup job that suited my age - I didn't want to be tarted up into some ridiculous glam or dewy unreality, but rather enhanced, in a naturalistic way. You know - "me, only better." Lauren's friendly personality put me at ease and she truly listened to what I wanted, and left me looking really great for a special event. (I have never been able to make a pimple disappear the way she did. Sorry if that's nasty, but I thought some of you might want to know that she's good in this area.) Lauren works from her bright, high-ceilinged apartment in the financial district, and applies your makeup as you sit in front of a large window that illuminates you with bright diffused natural light (I'm pretty light sensitive, and didn't need to squint at all.) A full-length mirror next to her makeup station allows you to see the entire effect of you in your makeup. I enjoyed talking with her so much that I was a bit late to my event! I decided to have her come to me while I was visiting the Virginia Beach area to avoid the hassle of using a Lyft/Uber service. She really is amazing! I was visiting NY for few days and leaving to Miami after that. Since I did not want to hit the beach looking pale, I decided to get a spray tan. Made an appointment with Laura, but then last minute had to movie it for couple hours. Laura was very accommodating with that. Arrived at her place and knew right away - this is going to be good. She is very sweet and easy to communicate with. We talked about the darkness of the tan, she honestly suggested that I should not go as dark as I wanted with my skin tone. Chatted about this and that while she did her thing and the result was amazing! Took a shower the next morning and still great. My husband loved it and my friend wished that she had done it as well. The tan lasted about 5 days, but have to take into consideration that I was swimming a lot in Miami. Really highly suggested! read more

I used to think Completely Bare was the absolute best, but I will never go back after having met Laura. I made an appointment with Laura at her studio in Battery Park for the first time a couple months ago. She is so fun to talk to and so professional, I felt completely comfortable with her. I left looking glowing and a little sparkly, with no streaks! The next morning I had no strange lines, no weird brown patches on my feet, and was a light golden color - no orange! I had my wedding in August and Laura was able to accommodate me a few days beforehand for a spray tan. This was my very first time getting a spray tan and I was nervous, especially since it was for such a big occasion. We bonded over running and matters of the heart at my first consultation and then on the day of, her chatter helped ease my nerves. More importantly, she does her work artfully. I had an important professional headshot to do for work (I work in finance, and needed a headshot to put on our corporate website, marketing materials, etc.). Got my makeup done for some pictures and and a religious ceremony. Lauren was responsive and great and very knowledgeable. One tip is to ask Lauren to check make up throughout the process. I didn't see it til the end but it was nice. However I wish she had set my make up after. Many of my pictures my mascara smudged due to my fake lashes and I had dark circles under my eyes. read more

I will say I was a little thrown off to discover that she runs her business out of her apt, but that is the reality these days with many specialty cosmetics services. But she immediately put me at ease and everything was great! You can tell she has some high-end clients. She has bragging rights of fitness models on magazine covers she has sprayed. She knows how to make you look more toned and how to determine which shade to use on you depending on what you are going for. She even mixes up her own color combination! She is very personable and truly gives you a 4 star experience. When I was finished I felt so confident and my color was flawless! I will say that I didn't look up her prices prior to getting my service and was a little shocked. She is definitely pricey. For me, I probably could only go from now on for special occasions. But if your budget is higher than mine, then it may not be a problem, and she offers packages which aren't bad prices which is another option. If I ever get spray tan from now on in New York I will only go to Lo and Co. What a great experience. I would highly recommend Lo and Co to others as well! read more
