I've been getting my gel French manicure done here for over a year and I usually love my experience when Danea does them. Unfortunately, she was unavailable and Ashley did them. She RUINED my natural nails that had been growing for over 2 years. The drill burned every finger and I continued to pull my hand away letting her know that the drill was too hot! Not only that, but in the entirety of 20 years since I've been getting my nails done...I've never seen anyone drill vertically across the nail bed! Within a week all my nails broke and/or chipped. My nails are so weak now and I'm extremely frustrated. For times like this, I hate the automatic 18% gratuity policy here. I would not recommend her to anyone! read more

I'm extremely disappointed in this nail spa. The customer service was awful. I booked two VIP pedicures and gel x, as well as "the birthday experience" which I was told by the staff that would include a mocktail and slice of cake. None of which happened. The tech spent most of the appointment on her phone, looked frustrated the entire time. Actually damaged my daughter's nail bed leaving dents and multiple cuts on her cuticles. We were there for over 3 hours, and I ended up just pulling my daughter and not moving forward with the nail service. Completely ruined her birthday. Very unprofessional behavior, a complete waste of time, and absolutely no accountability. I do not recommend this place, especially for the prices. read more

The gorgeous salon ((‍does not)) make up for the nail techs' services. I got a pedicure here and the technician was serving 2 ppl at once. When they were doing my pedicure they were talking to their kids on speaker through a house camera; having to stop to press the talk button. Very unprofessional and I felt as though I was an inconvenience instead of a paying customer; mom of 3 young kids who just needed some Me time. There was some back and forth between the owner and the technician; resulting in the owner taking over the other appointment. My SIL then gave me a gift card to the salon for a manicure. I went yesterday and my nails STILL hurt. I have had my nails done since 2005ish so i'm aware of the process and what the result should be. I received 10 different length, paddle-shaped nails that are either flooded or have already lifted/cracked. The apex is either non-existent or misplaced. I had high hopes for the salon bc of the atmosphere and range of services, but I will not be spending the remainder of my gift card let alone my hard earned money here. So disappointed. WHERE ARE THE GOOD NAIL TECHS IN HAMPTON ROADS!!!!! I have yet to find one who knows how to shape properly/decent at any sort of art. The owner here is obviously new at running a business. My partner and I had a horrible experience at this location due to a nail tech's racist attitudes and quality of service, but we didn't make a scene to make sure the nail tech wasn't embarrassed. Even though she was wrong, I didn't want the situation to go viral and ruin her life and possibly get the place shit down. First, we walk in, no one greets us. We check in and are just told to wait. No one offered us our drinks until the tech came and pulled us to the chairs. Obviously, appointment times don't matter here. My tech started working on my toes before my partner's tech came. When she did come, she had her AirPods in and refused to speak to us. I tried asking her how she was 3 different times. It was a bad experience for me because my nails were all kinds of wrong but the tech was nice so I didn't say a word about my experience. As soon as I got home, I had to cut and file so they didn't look like horns on my toes. I had never seen that before in my 39 years living on this planet. It was a terrible experience for my partner's first time getting a pedicure. I even paid for the next level up package which was not the service we received. His tech was rude, aggressive, skipped his massage and other practices that my tech did. I was watching her the whole time since it was his first time. She was looking at my partner with disgust and it was not because of his toes- they were actually good for a guy who had never had a pedicure! She made him feel so u comfortable that he said he will never do that again. Thanks for ruining that. When I tried to speak with the manager through email, she offered me 50% off the next time I come. Wait, what? You expect me to come back and pay more money when you haven't solved the current issue? Very strange. I responded explaining that it would be nice to at least get a partial refund so the service we paid for what not what we got. She then ignored me and I have not received a response since. I tried to handle this without bringing attention to your incompetence and lack of care, but you seem to prefer this path. I'll do my best to make sure anyone considering this place will think twice and find something better. I paid about $150 for 2 less than adequate pedicures. I have to say I am quite surprised I had a pleasant experience here given all the other reviews listed on Yelp. As soon as I walked in I was assisted and escorted to my seat. I went to get my Gel X removed from nails and get a basic pedicure. I had a gift card so I went with the best pedicure experience. Which was $50 without gel and $60 with gel (I think I got the numbers right, I know there is an up charge for doing gel nail polish) I didn't want to do gel nail polish. So it was regular price for me. But I feel like it's kind of a hidden money grab because all they have are gel nail polish, so I had to just do a clear coat. That's the only reason I gave this 4 stars. Van was my tech. She was gentle, relaxing, and very caring. I prefer a tech who is calm and soothing and that's exactly what I got with her. The salon can get a little loud at times with just the workers conversation. But still over all a very comfortable and relaxing experience. And it is very luxurious inside. read more

RACIST TECH - this salon esthetically is 10/10 but if you don't book with someone you know your not leaving happy. Had a chill vibe and loved to see younger ppl in there doing their thing and happy clients but appears it's all friends supporting friends or established clients where the new clients get the techs with availability bc they clearly suck. The tech I had did a HORRIBLE job I had to go home and remove ALL my nails. Tech had to redo one nail 3x it was beyond frustrating and waste of time and money. The manager agreed my nails did not look good and said to contact owner but owner didn't reply once I returned to the states from vacay. The tech stated "Asians do nails better" and then "Asians do better nails then Africans" she also had comments on the other techs clients bc she didn't like how loud they were and their language choice in words. The ambience is nice but the service is subpar and overpriced. They didn't have nail color I want I asked for 3 and my nail tech couldn't find it so I settled on the one I have. 1.My first time here I received a gel manicure. As I was seated I had to switch to another nail tech. Cool no problem. As I was getting filed down I noticed a nail tech come to the back where I was and she dropped her things and took a little breather and let out a brief sigh of relief which was a bit loud. So I glanced over to see what the fuss was about. It seemed like a had a long day as I got there around 5:45pm. She's talking to my nail tech and I overheard her saying " I just wanna know what she's looking at" then she said it again and louder so o could hear her. She says to me "what were you looking at?" I responded politely and confused like oh yeah I was looking at you because you let out a loud breath you must of had a long day. Kinda weird to try to start things with a paying customer who you're not even servicing. I don't know who pissed on her coffee that day because i didn't deserve the disrespect. I had a very disappointing experience at Ivy Glam. I went in for a Pamper pedicure on my birthday expecting to leave relaxed and satisfied, but instead I walked out with sore feet from the tech (friction from the scrub)and a lot of frustration. The service was rushed and poorly done my feet never really soaked in the water, and when I kindly expressed that my feet were not done properly and asked for them to be redone, I was met with resistance saying I must have came in with a Blister which I have never had. Then I had an ingrown that caused my previous polish to still linger after being cleaned but instead of the woman telling me so she we on and tried to polish over it .Rather than fixing the issue, the only solution offered was a refund. While I appreciate getting my money back which for part of it I used a gift card, it doesn't fix the inconvenience, discomfort, or poor customer service. I also was asked if I wanted a drink which I did want and never got until the end of my services .I expected better care and professionalism from a place that look so beautiful.
