We have brought our daughter here since 2012 and she loves it. This is a girl who is not all that…read morenaturally gifted as an athlete and lasted about two months at other activities such as dance and gymnastics. Despite those early flame-outs, my daughter loves Taekwando and it's due in no small part to Kelly, Rick, Brooke, and all of their student instructors who are all excellent at what they do. My daughter is engaged, takes her lessons seriously, and has a lot of fun. Every time she advances to the next belt, she takes great pride in her accomplishment and feels as though she genuinely earned it. When she fails to advance, the Trautweins are there for her and help her refocus and get ready for the next testing cycle. Trust me: your child will work for, and earn their belts. This isn't a Taekwando studio where all of the kids automatically advance through the belts until they reach the black belt, are able to list the "accomplishment" on their college applications, and then quit. You'll find places like that up in Lakewood Ranch. If you want your children to learn a martial art and become a better person in general, this is where you will bring them. I do, however, wish the chairs in the observation area were more comfortable. I mean, c'mon! I've spent a lot of time sitting, watching my daughter over the years. How about some recliners, Rick?!

The facility is huge, new, and immaculately clean. If you are a germ-o-phobe, then this is the place for you- you could eat off the floors :-) The instructors are kind and encouraging. The entire Trautwein family are such wonderful people, they really care about their students. Mrs. Tomlinson and Mrs. Nguyen are incredible role models as well. I only wish I had started practicing tae kwon do much sooner!

We took classes over a year and thought camp would be great since he knew the staff and they knew about his disability. WRONG....they could care less that he had special learning needs. They sat him in a corner all day by himself and threatened cops when he had a SPD moment. They didn't want to work ywith me or adjust their learning to help a student they've had for over a year. Took a months worth of money up front knowing this then left it up in the air. If your child has any type of developmental delay like spd of adhd do not bring your kid here They are awful and have no clue. The camp is a joke. They sit 30 kids on floor to watch cartoons with bunch of high-school kids with no educational training. Then put then on their tablets for hours at a time.
