Despite those early flame-outs, my daughter loves Taekwando and it's due in no small part to Kelly, Rick, Brooke, and all of their student instructors who are all excellent at what they do. My daughter is engaged, takes her lessons seriously, and has a lot of fun. Every time she advances to the next belt, she takes great pride in her accomplishment and feels as though she genuinely earned it. When she fails to advance, the Trautweins are there for her and help her refocus and get ready for the next testing cycle. Trust me: your child will work for, and earn their belts. This isn't a Taekwando studio where all of the kids automatically advance through the belts until they reach the black belt, are able to list the "accomplishment" on their college applications, and then quit. You'll find places like that up in Lakewood Ranch. If you want your children to learn a martial art and become a better person in general, this is where you will bring them. I do, however, wish the chairs in the observation area were more comfortable. I mean, c'mon! I've spent a lot of time sitting, watching my daughter over the years. How about some recliners, Rick?!

The facility is huge, new, and immaculately clean. If you are a germ-o-phobe, then this is the place for you- you could eat off the floors :-) The instructors are kind and encouraging. The entire Trautwein family are such wonderful people, they really care about their students. Mrs. Tomlinson and Mrs. Nguyen are incredible role models as well. I only wish I had started practicing tae kwon do much sooner!

I would like to compliment David Ryder for his outstanding customer service for me today at LA…read moreFitness. I came into town to visit and I decided to go back to see if it would be possible to workout at LA Fitness for the week. David was extremely accommodating and understanding of my situation. Not only did his work stand out, but there were many more instances throughout the course of the two hours that I was there that made me understand that this would be the ideal gym to go to if I lived in the area. All of the employees were upbeat and very polite. If anyone is looking for a gym to start up at in the Sarasota area, I strongly recommend this LA Fitness!

Huge complaint! My husband and I have been coming to this location for over 5 yrs. maybe 3-4 times…read morea week and this isn't the first time I caught employee, TIM staring at me from a distance and making faces at the way I work out, walking away, shaking his head and then watched him go to the front desk and laughing about it with another employee, Hunter. When I went back to tell my husband, he told me he just pulled the same thing on him, staring at him, making faces basically didnt like the way he works out and shaking his head. I went over, confronted him. He was nothing but arrogant. Told me I didn't know what I was talking about. He then told me that I didn't know what I was doing and neither does my husband. There was more I could say about our conversation, but I will save that for my call to the corporate office. I will tell you this guy doesn't belong working there!! This guy TIM is an old man bulked up with a fake tan who shouldn't be criticizing the way other people work out. This is predominantly an older clientele gym and not a Hard core muscle gym. A few weeks prior to today he actually walked up to my husband and straight out told him, "don't you know what you're doing?" he did the same to me a few weeks prior as well. I was on a machine had to take the earbuds out and he said, "don't you know how to use this machine?" I told him I know how to use this machine. He then gave me an attitude and walked away. I don't need to go to the gym to be made felt uncomfortable and neither does my husband. We both have medical conditions and we don't work out aggressively and work out at own pace. We don't need anyone staring us down, criticizing the way we work out. What he said to me that I will be relaying to corporate should be enough to get rid of this guy. I hope I never see this TIM's face again.
