Fast forward a few years, and I wanted to get a base before an upcoming trip, so I did a lot of research and found that Sun Tan City has the most locations and tanning options available. I headed to this location, asked approximately 100 questions, signed up for a membership on the spot, got a new lotion, and as a bonus, started a red light regimen. They are so nice here, and the beds are super clean, with many varied options. I'm so glad to have found a great place to tan.

I prepaid way ahead for a full year membership in a 'faster' bed. I had not used it yet, because I was still using my first package. Then I decided to cancel that prepaid 'faster' deal to think a little more about which package I wanted. But, they would not give me my money back. The only thing they would do is give me a gift card, basically holding $376 hostage. They said I would get the gift card in 7-14 days, but it took 21 days. Then it sat in my account until I could add more money to it and buy an instant membership. So I waited till the April "birthday bash sale", then I added a couple hundred dollars to it and bought an instant bed membership. As if I had a choice. I had to use the money there, in their salon. I was very angry that they didn't tell me during the purchasing process that they don't give refunds, they give gift cards. There are No signs warning customers of this policy. It's an ambush! I wonder if it's even legal to hide your store policies from customers? *The other refund occasion was not as big, but still irritating. I returned some terrible nail polish. I was told l could not get a refund at the counter. The employee had to fill out a form, submit it to upper management, and wait for approval. Then I would get my refund in a week or so. Again, no sign saying anything about their horrible return/refund policy. Another ambush! I've also noticed that the bulbs no longer put out any heat/color. They're used up, out of juice. I don't even bother with the instant bed anymore, even though I paid a fortune for it. It's useless. I now use one of the 'fastest' beds. But even they are disappointing. The only place on my body that ever gets any color is my face. I guess they keep the facial bulbs relatively current. Also, I've noticed over the past year+ that they cannot keep employees. I've seen so many arrive, and then 1-3 months later they're gone. I think it's because their pay scale is pretty bad, like $9.00 per hour. When other companies are paying $15-$16. I've also noticed that the place is getting more and more dirty. The toilets are gross. Dried urine has dripped down both sides that have turned grey because it's been there so long (I have pictures). Toilet paper pieces on the floor behind the toilet, dead bugs that have been there for months, dust bunnies every where, boxes of new bulbs for the instant beds, stacked in the front waiting area that have been so long I can't even remember. This makes me so sad, and angry. When Kirby and Sam were managing this Fuquay salon it was always spotless. They all seemed playful and happy, like they got along very well. It was a fun place to go. Every time I went in (2-3 times a week) at least one or two people were cleaning. The floors, the corners, behind the beds, the tops of the beds, etc. The bathrooms were always very clean. Even the faucets were spot free. Now it looks like no one cares. I never see anyone cleaning anything, other than a tanning bed. I can't help but wonder why upper management doesn't check on this salon? It's obvious they don't pay attention to reviews, or people's opinions. Maybe they have forgotten that it's the people's money keeping them in business. So, even though it will probably fall on deaf ears, I strongly encourage upper management to change their return/refund policy, and visit this neglected salon, immediately. It's way over due for a check up.
