I find this to be really weird that it just happens a OBGYN I visited was on Yelp but I find it to be kind of cool. I like Dr. Jun and it's very difficult to find someone who is young and can relate to you and make you feel comfortable about these weird weird exams you have to get every year. Her assistant Christina is also the nicest person ever and extremely helpful all the time. If you're looking for a new OBGYN I highly recommend Dr. Jun because she's very professional (I'm not sure why N.G. didn't think so...) and she's very informative and makes you feel empowered about yourself! read more

As a doctor she was ok. CCRM nurses were ok as well. Worst points: 1. Very poor Ccrm lab. Both time egg color was brown. 2. We were advices to go for accupuncture and drastic dietary change with Meghan which costs us so much money and did not work. There are studies suggesting it does not work as well. So make sure before going gluten and vegan your body adapts. Diets are fad. 3. Worst suggestion was going for Dr Nezhat endometriosis surgery when there was no endometriosis detected.and we had to pay 2k extra for a extra doctor There was definetely no personal connection with the doc. That is ok but overall she wasn't even inquisite or wanting to find out why there was no result. We have spent awful lot money and making sure others don't go through the same. read more

Dr. Jun was one of the worst doctors I've ever been too. She was unorganized and not engaged with my care at all. Her counterpart Dr. Dobson was amazing and he wasn't even my primary. She lacked appropriate bedside manner and didn't offer any creative thinking to approach my situation. I left her office crying many times as she made me feel something was wrong with me and she dismissed my care due to weight. I would give her zero stars if possible. She was just not good. read more

Dr. Sunny Jun is a negligent and uncaring OB/GYN. She gave me the brush off after I got my diagnosis. It is a serious matter that needed attention and advice, but I received zero advice or education on my condition. She told me to go to the ER if it ruptures. I really don't want to take care of it in the ER when it is sometime that can be done in an out patient clinic. She is also cynical when I told her that I am taking Aleve for pain management. She said the Aleve is not going to make the problem go away. Yes, i know that but it is for pain control. She mocked me when i told her i was taking Aleve. She never even offered me any medication to help manage the pain either. She also stood me up for my follow up appointment which took me almost 3 weeks to get. I don't want to even think about the unprofessional staff who bounces my call around and calls me by another patient's name. They are completely clueless. read more

I have interacted only with Christina in person and she makes the appointment so easy by making me feel comfortable from the get-go. unlike the first review, my experience with Dr. Jun was complete opposite. Not only was Dr. Jun nice to my husband and I, but she is great when it comes to educating her patients. She was able to break any medical terminology down and explain things in a more simple manner. We thought it was going to be a rough journey, but Dr. Jun made our time valuable. I see that she is pretty much in rush. She tries to accommodate too many patients in too little time. She tries to answer some questions She is good at responding your calls...if you consult her as a fertility patient .But her answers are short, not descriptive.As a patient , one expects maximum information about the condition of ones health. Dr Jun is the worst obgyn I have ever visited. Her knowledge is way too theoretical. She is not responsive over phone and over emails. In fact, when I asked her what should I do for my consistently elevated fasting sugar levels, she just said lets increase the dosage of metformin. I changed my obgyn who seems to be much more caring and smart in customizing her treatment approach to my problem. Instead of referring me to an endocrinologist to help me control my blood sugar levels, she had a very careless approach and don't care attitude. She never bothered to get to the crux of the matter and to provide effective treatment in a timely manner. I am surprised to see such high ratings for this Dr! First, I was meaning to write this review for a long time, but it's been challenging w/ a newborn and being a first time mom. Dr. Jun, thank you for getting us pregnant and now, we have such a beautiful and healthy daughter, who is a sunshine in our life. We had been trying many IUIs w/ other MDs and had no luck. So, I started looking online and found Dr. Jun. I was so happy to find that she's in my medical group PAMF, but even more excited that she had a great review. So, we decided to give her a try. We're so pleased with her and her staff. Not only Dr. Jun is knowledgable and up to date in her field (specialty), she is open-minded and listened to our concerns and responded to them promptly. Every time I called for after our emergency issues (prescriptions, forgot to take my follistim or clomid), she called me back within 30 mins and always in a pleasant mood. I visited Dr. Jun few years back, after my Acupuncturist in Fremont (specializing in fertility and pre-natal care) highly recommended her. The location I went to, was in South San Jose then... I had a unique situation... She was a bit late to our appointment, but I understand that there are other patients in front of me and things could go over time. She already went through my New Patient paperwork by the time we spoke. Her questions were very straight-forward, tailored to find out how she could help. After our dialog, she offered a better solution which means I would be a patient of some other doctor (at a different institution). But this is indeed the best solution, and our visit was priced correctly. She even stated that in this case I would not be admitted as a New Patient, so all paperwork was immediately returned to me on the spot for my privacy. I walked away feeling this is a GREAT and a very CONSIDERATE Doctor. AND very fair. So even though it's nearly 2 weeks after Thanksgiving and this happened sometime ago when she was practicing at a different location, I want to drop this Review and say thank-you to Dr. Jun. They were very responsive and efficient in all the MANY questions I had and even made me feel like they knew and cared about me on a personal level. Going in to an RE is nerve racking enough, but after my first visit I felt like i knew them for a long time. I never thought I would be able to have children but after my 3rd IUI ...SUCCESS! Dr Jun and her staff helped me every step of the way and I could not have created a better experience. Unfortunately she does not do delivery, but I am planning to go back once my little one is here and plan for my second as soon as i can. We recently moved to Northern California from Kansas City (military family) and have been trying to concieve our second child for about 18 months. I have PCOS and knew that we would have to have fertility treatments again. Had gone through 3 months of Clomid there in KC before having to just not try/not prevent for several months due to trips that my husband had to take and then the move.The doctor that we saw to have our son, five years ago in Tennessee, was awesome. We went through almost 2 years of trying and seeing different doctors before finding him and within six months were pregnant. This isn't my first rodeo and I know what I'm talking about with infertility and my body. Dr Jun was nice enough and seemed ok. I had filled out everything that I was supposed to fill out beforehand regarding our history, my medical records were supposed to be there so that she could review them, yet she had no clue about anything. She never even looked at the paperwork that I had filled out, said that she couldn't find my medical records (even though I found out later that they were already in their system and had been there for a week prior to our appointment) and seemed more focused on my weight than anything else. I know that I am overweight, but I am not almost 300 lbs or well over, and I am only 15 lbs heavier now than I was when I got pregnant with our son, yet she told me that she didn't really want to give me Clomid (this is what we used before with results) until I lost weight and because I had a bmi of 41 then I didn't qualify for IVF and she wasn't really comfortable doing injectables on me either.This was after the "fat people get pregnant every day, but not with pcos" discussion we had. We had already told her that we didn't want to do an IVF or IUI and that injectables were as far as we wanted to go, if it came to that. She asked me had I ever had a LEEP procedure for cervical dysplasia, cervical biopsies or anything of the sort and I told her yes, 10 years ago, but had not had any abnormal pap smears since. She practially yelled at me, "Why didn't you say anything before? This is something that I need to know!" I told her that I had written it on the history form and had she not read it and she told me no, she had not. Why did I have to fill it out if you aren't going to read it? She proceeded to tell me that I had to have an endometrial biopsy done before we could go any further. When I asked why all she would tell me is that she wanted to do it because I had had abnormal pap's in the past (even though it's been ten years!!) and that because I was obese (again, she made it sound like I was a hippo) I was at a bigger risk for uterine cancer. After telling me all of this, she asked me what we would do if I were to get pregnant with triplets. Would I be willing to abort one? When I told her no, I thought she was going to have a conniption fit. She went on a tangent about how dangerous it would be for me since I am obese (again with the hippo) and how she didn't know if she could treat me. I told her that I didn't believe in selective reduction unless there was something wrong that could be harmful to the babies or myself. (such as one isn't developing or is harming the other two, etc) Her whole demeanor changed after that. I left there with a script for Clomid and not really feeling too hot about myself. I am very discouraged as the first OBGYN that I saw sent me to her. Are all doctors in California as discriminating against overweight people as she is? The more that I thought about the visit, the more uncomfortable that I feel about going back to her. I'm sure she is a great fit for some people, but just not for me. read more

She works/collaborate with the other doctors in her field within PAMF to make sure all sides of each case is evaluated and the best protocol set. This review is being posted late due to poor customer service in Sutter Health/Palo Alto Medical Foundation's billing department and Dr. Jun's staff's inability to answer my billing questions. -They will simply refer you SH/PAMF for billing questions. I want everyone to know of my bad experience with Dr. Sunny Jun so that nobody else makes the same mistake of going to this Dr. for IVF consultation. The purpose of my visit was SOLELY for consultation. This was my first time seeing Dr. Jun. There was never any intention of becoming a patient of Dr. Jun's. I made this very clear on the "new patient" form which her office required to be filled out prior to consultation. I sent in the form and past treatment paperwork weeks in advance of my appointment and was assured by staff (when I asked) that Dr. Jun would review all my paperwork prior to my appointment. I also came prepared to my apt. with the 12 questions I wanted to ask Dr. Jun, and copies of my past treatment paperwork and patient form. 1. When I spoke on the phone to set up the appointment and ask about the cost for consultation, the staff let me know the fee for consultation was $300, due at the apt - (which I paid.) However, they did NOT say that extra fees may be added and they did NOT say that you would be required to sign a form indicating that extra fees may be added. (You only find this out when you arrive for your appointment, and cannot see the Dr. unless you sign this form.) 2. Prior to signing the form, I asked the receptionist to clarify what was meant by "extra fees" and the receptionist said "treatments provided, medications given or prescribed, time spent with the Dr." I again explained the purpose for seeing Dr. Jun was for consultation only. The receptionist was unable to say if there would be additional fees or what they would be. 3. I had arrived for my appointment early. Dr. Jun was more than 30 minutes late. Nobody from her staff came to let us know that Dr. Jun would be delayed. 4. Dr. Jun did not previously review my past treatment records. (When I told her that her staff confirmed that they had been received and would be reviewed, she claimed that she "never received them.") Then, she proceeded to spend the next nearly 30 minutes asking redundant questions (which had previously been answered on the "new patient" form and from the past treatment paperwork I had previously sent) to the point where I had to (politely) interrupt her and remind her that my sole purpose in seeing her was for consultation and that I had my own questions to ask her. (i.e. She wasted a lot of time.) I then had to summarize my past treatment (resulting in more time wasted because she was unprepared) in order to ask her my 12 questions. While I was (eventually) able to ask my questions, I was not impressed by Dr. Jun's lack of preparedness. I was also not impressed by her staff's inability to be upfront about their billing policy (because had I known that I would be billed an additional $294 from Sutter Health Palo Alto Medical Foundation - even though no treatments were performed and no medications were given or prescribed I would have gone elsewhere for consultation.) My recommendation is to go with another doctor if you are seeking IVF consultation so you do not make the nearly $600 mistake I did. No one from Dr. Jun's office nor Sutter Health PAMF has given me the courtesy of telling me why SH/PAMF is still charging me for services not performed. read more

I found Dr Jun after I had been trying unsuccesfully for two years to have a baby. I had gone to other OBGYNS and no doctor could tell me what the issue was. Dr Jun diagnosed my issue on the first visit. Even though it was a devastating diagnosis, Dr Jun worked with me and tried different protocals and did not give up on me. I am happy to report that I am now pregnant!! Dr jun is a very caring, knowldegeable and patient doctor who does not give up on her patients. I highly recommend Dr. Sunny Jun. She is knowledgable, friendly, warm, and very helpful. She provided us with the various viable options and associated data, pros & cons, and kept open communications with us. She worked with us on a solution that best fits our goals. She always makes time for us, helped us to deal with several urgent situations. She returns our off hours calls/ weekend calls timely with clear instructions- BTW, this is one of the great feature of Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) Fertility Treatment program- the Drs. work in a group and there is always someone on call to take care of urgent need! The other doctor, Dr. Dobson is very nice as well, where he treated me over one weekend when he was on call. Under Dr. Jun's guidance and treatment, we are very fortunate to be pregnant with our first baby girl, at the 2nd round of IVF treatment, esp. given that I'm at a much higher age range, with a generally lower probability of success!
