With the lack of good pizza options in the area, I found this place on Apple Maps and thought I'd…read moregive it a try. It is, in fact, a tiny "general store" that is inconspicuous and easily missed. It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). They have a small deli in the back and the young unassuming young guy making pizzas and other baked goods. He seemed nice, albeit so what suspicious. There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The taste may not be worthy of a five, but certainly a Midwest tiny-town-in-the-middle-of-nowhere five, and certainly worth a visit for pizza, miscellaneous baked goods... or beer, wine, and lottery.

I called the Glen store to order pizza which I have not done in a while and asked how much the…read morepizza was and then ordered the two pizzas and when I got there they were a totally different price. When I told them that Emma had quoted me the price they yelled at Emma and sent her back to the kitchen and embarrassed her in front of all of the customers waiting in line. Afternoon some discussion they did give them to me at the price that was quoted and then preceded to tell me never to come back again and to get out of the store. They were so rude. I would go to the Glen store all the time as I live down the road, now I will never go there again. And let everyone know about my experience. I can't believe how they treated a customer.

I've driven by this store many times and FINALLY stopped in. What was I waiting for?!…read more THIS STORE IS AMAZING! First, and foremost, the staff was so kind, patient, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. I don't think I've had anyone help me in-store EVER as this lady did. She was a great problem-solver (I love dried mango flavor in things, but am a TOTAL zero flames so even if chili is the last ingredient, it's too spicy for me. OPE.). My curry-making problem is now solved. THANK YOU! Second, this small store is like a TARDIS or Mary Poppins' bag. Each aisle is packed to the brim with treasures. We were in somewhat of a hurry, but honestly I could spend quite a while there (and know that if I have questions, I will learn solutions). There is a LONG wall of freezer things that looked enticing - our daughter got a box of 22 (!!) frozen samosas, which she loves. There is fresh produce in back, more refrigerated things, shelves and shelves of deliciousness, and my very favorite, a WHOLE section of spices and spice mix. There were many things unfamiliar to me, which I can't wait to try. The beans and rice selection is quite thorough. The prices are excellent. HOW did I not go here before? Hope you enjoy it, too. You can find them on fb; there is no other website. APNA is housed in a large blue building, shared with another store. Note: The only way to turn in is from N Avenue. Ask me how I know. There is no entrance on 9th street!
