On 5/13/25, my child complained of her arms hurting after pick up. I checked her arms and saw…read moreroughly 50 scratches between both arms that went back to the elbows. Immediately, I messaged the director and teachers through the app with photos and explained that my daughter said a peer in the class grabbed her arms. I went in the next morning to speak to the director, Madeline H. She saw the cuts and told her to stay away from her and tell the teachers when something happens. My child said that a teacher did scold the girl but there was not an incident report, nor was I notified. That evening, (5/14/25), I picked up my child an hour early and ran into the child who attacked my daughter , along with her mother. I asked the mother if she was spoken to, in regards to her child assaulting my daughter. She said No and did not know what I was referring to. We went inside the facility where Madeline said that she spoke to the child. I said "You were supposed to speak to the mother before she left. That's what you said you would do". She replied "We're not doing this here". I said "Yes we are! My child was assaulted. We will speak on this!" Madeline then grabbed a teacher by her arm and had the mother and child go to her office, with the door shut behind them. I was outcasted without any information. I went home with my daughter. I observed that I did not have a witness but a black mother did . Interesting. Then, the next day, against my will, I brought my child back as I do not have alternate childcare. I was informed through the app that my daughter was transferred to the multi-age classroom "for the safety of all the children". Mind you, my child was attacked, not the other way around." I sense that Madeline must've be en intimidated by this mother's race or else why wasn't that child moved when she was the assailant ? That was my daughter's last day! I am horrified and appalled that my 3 year old had to experience this by a child and from a child care provider. I reached out to Madeline's superior who did say they were going to do a full investigation but it's challenging when they do not have cameras in the site. In addition, they would constantly feed my daughter crackers for snack, which I requested healthier options such as cucumber slices but Madeline claimed she had to check the budget on that. No update was ever provided so I brought in healthy snacks for my child to have there. Furthermore, the last 3 hours that my child was there from 2:30p-5:30p, my daughter only did free play. There were no updates or photos during that time. I questioned Madeline in this and she said they are looking into hiring another staff so that the children can go outside during that time but my daughter was there for 6 weeks and it was this way the entire time. I absolutely do not recommend this site and hope they terminate the director from her position after all of this. I was gaslit and dismissed. To be paying $440 a week for a subpar experience for my child in a pre-school setting is unacceptable. The director not following through protocol is unacceptable. Do NOT bring your child here. I cannot speak on the other sites but the North Haven site needs major changes with staff, proper training , dietary changes to their menu and a revamped schedule for the afternoon.

I walked back to the building and asked what happened and his teacher says nothing happened and walks off to leave. We waited for the director to come and we agreed to come back the next day when his teacher would be there so we can ask her. The next morning we sit down with his teacher and she claims nothing happened and my child never cried. Now we are here with no answers while his teacher lies and is still working there. Also, they have actively sick either staff or children attending this daycare! My review was deleted and nhpd and dcf claim nothing was found under their investigation. More lies because I was never contacted regarding the investigation and when I contacted dcf (which was weeks after the incident) they still hadn't went to the school to investigate. Sad that authorities who are supposed to help can't be trusted. No Justice was served!

As a Child Psychology major at Albertus Magnus College I did my "normal child" internship at St…read more Rita's. There is a reason that this day care fills up so quickly: the staff is fantastic! They become as attached to the children as the children do to them, sometimes even more. Hell, I bawled my eyes out on my last day and had to tell all the kids that they were "tears of happiness because [they] grew up so much." And I know that any of the other staff members would do the same. They are gentle with their discipline and give lots of hugs and kisses as needed. When a child was ill for more than a day it was a huge discussion and parents were called to make sure the child was OK. Doctor's visits were always discussed. I mean when I say they care, they are like your kids' other family. They really teach the children and they are amazingly advanced by the time they leave. An example: when I was working at People's United Bank one of the parents brought their children that I taught at St. Rita's and the three year old said "I was really mad that Mommy made me come to the bank, but now I'm happy because I got to see you, Miss Sara!" (He was a very silly kid, always trying to convince me that he didn't know how to color and then make amazing artwork). So why four stars and not 5? 1. The teachers aren't certified. Don't get me wrong, these people can TEACH, but when you're in a private day care setting with pristige I feel like parents are always looking for that certificate. 2. The big appeal is that your child is almost guaranteed a spot at St. Rita's school and that seems to be the primary reason that parents choose the day care and they capitalize on that. 3. They sometimes have a hard time with rowdier children, and children are rowdy. But the discipline is never an issue: it's always appropriate. Then again, I don't believe that there is one perfect day care, just a perfect day care for your child.

The staff always greet us with a positive attitude, and it's clear they genuinely care about every kid. Their patience, dedication, and communication through the Brightwheel app have given us confidence that he's in great hands. Our son has learned so much, from surprising us by counting to 10 (without us ever covering numbers) to developing strong social skills and friendships with kids he's known since he was an infant. It's been wonderful seeing those friendships continue through birthday parties outside of daycare. We also appreciate the variety of activities beyond the daily curriculum. He is loving the summer camp program, and it's obvious the staff put a lot of effort into making every day fun. The biggest reason we recommend Over the Rainbow is simple: every morning, he runs into the building and is excited to be there. We look forward to another great school year!

My daughter is now 3 1/2 years old and has been attending since she was just 3 months old. Over the years, I've never had a negative experience with any of the teachers or staff she's had the privilege of knowing. As a mom, there's no greater comfort than knowing your child is surrounded by so many caring adults. It truly feels like she has a second family there, and that's something I could never provide on my own. The amount she has learned amazes me. Almost every day she comes home with new vocabulary, funny expressions, better manners, and new skills. Even learning to share has been something she's picked up there. Watching her confidence and independence grow has been incredible. One of my favorite parts of Over the Rainbow is the communication. I love receiving photos throughout the day, and it's always easy to reach her teachers when I have a question. I also appreciate how much effort they put into family events. While I can't always attend because of work, they're always thoughtful and well organized. The kindergarten graduation ceremony was by far the sweetest event I've attended--it was so clear how much the staff genuinely love and care about the children. It honestly makes me sad knowing my daughter won't be there much longer. These early years are so important, and I'm incredibly grateful for the role Over the Rainbow has played in helping shape the kind, curious, and caring little girl she's becoming. I would wholeheartedly recommend Over the Rainbow to any family looking for a safe, loving, and nurturing place for their child.

Ms. Lori, the Director and Ms. Candace, Asst. Director has created a safe and nurturing environment at their school. Mr. James and Ms. Sabrina are my daughters main teachers and they both provide such great direction for children to learn and grow their skills. There is also Ms. Alicia, who comes in and helps when needed and she is also great. It's so many excellent teachers that also help with early drop off and late pickup. You not only feel confident for your child's development and safety, but you also gain an amazing family community as part of this school. My daughter has attended Tender Care Learning since October 2015 and it has honestly been one of the best decisions so far because she's learned so much and is already prepared for kindergarten. The preschool's well rounded social skills, personal responsibility, and academics are only a few of the excellent areas your child will develop when attending Tender Care Learning. You feel so grateful to have your child learn and grow at Tender Care Learning plus to know they are in good hands and safe. I know my daughter will always greet me with a big smile every time I pick her up and want to show me what she's learned during her day. Her teachers are always there to tell me about her daily activities and anything else. They are truly a professional team. They keep their classrooms with a small group of students, so the teacher to student ratio is great. You will feel so happy your child is a part of such a great school/learning environment each day. We will be heading to kindergarten this Fall and will truly miss our Tender Care Learning Family.
