Good evening, I am writing as a deeply angry and disgusted…read moreparent. Today, when I picked up my son Leonardo, I was informed he had SLEPT ON THE COLD TILE FLOOR because he was "hot." That explanation alone is UNACCEPTABLE, but it gets worse. He was WET when I picked him up this afternoon--his hair, his pants, his coat--completely soaked. And when I asked why, not a single staff member could give me an answer. "I don't know" is NOT an acceptable response when a child is returned to their parent in that condition. The lack of accountability, the carelessness, and the indifference are beyond disappointing--they are DISGUSTING. As someone with experience working in multiple daycares and schools, I know that if a 3-year-old refuses to sleep on a cot, you don't allow them to lay on a cold, dirty floor like an animal. You comfort them, you redirect them, and you provide care. The fact that this didn't happen is a complete failure on your part. Even a dog gets a bed. My son deserved far better than this. And yes, I will say it--had Leonardo not been a young Black boy, I believe this situation may have been handled with more compassion and urgency. He was neglected. There's no other word for it. Let me ask you this: How would you feel if you found out your child took a nap on the cold floor? Or picking him up wet and not exactly given an actual clear explanation ? If he was uncomfortable, if he was upset, if something happened--WHY wasn't I called? As his mother, I should have been informed immediately. Instead, he was left in that condition, and no one took responsibility. This is not just poor care. This is unacceptable. This is disgusting. This is neglect. Leonardo will NOT be returning to your center. I will also be reporting this incident to corporate and taking further steps as necessary. I expect a written explanation, not excuses. Do better!!!!! His teachers have been phenomenal and so patient with him. Special thanks to Mariah and Diamond who had him in toddlers, Amy in Twos and Alyssa and Rachel in EP. Our son needed Birth to 3 services and all of the teachers adopted the strategies needed to help our son grow and thrive. They were even flexible with us about our continued enrollment after summer 2023 which gave us options as we planned for our son's transition to Pre-k and allowed us to breath a little. My sons have attended Twin Lakes Children's Center since they were both three months old. They are…read morenow 2.5 and 4.5 years old. I have only ever had positive experiences at TLCC. My children both LOVE to go to school and speak so highly of their teachers. My older son gets upset when I pick him up early as he would stay till close if he had it his way! This is a testament to the teachers who make it a safe, fun, interactive and happy place for children to learn and grow. My son who is in preschool comes home eager to tell me about the Science experiments that he participated in, brings home arts and crafts on a daily basis and is able to identify and write all of his letters and numbers. The staff takes such a nurturing approach with the children. I can remember when my younger son was in the infant room and a colic baby, how calm and supportive the staff were with him and with me. They are so willing to meet your baby/toddler where they are and provide support for their individual needs. The director is very approachable and always available to talk about your child's behavioral and social emotional progress. She truly puts the children first and it is evident in her staff as well. Their kind, empathetic and patient demeanor is what makes them so wonderful. I always say it takes a village to raise children and I am just so grateful that the staff at TLCC are part of ours!

My older son started here when he was 3 and this was his first daycare. He's now 7 and still goes here durning the summer. He loves to go here with all the activities in the summer they do for the kids. My other son is almost 2 and has been attending the Stork Club since he was 8 months old. My daughter had birth to three services and the staff were wonderful with our speech pathologist. They always took her suggestions to heart and it truly bettered our daughter. They have been fantastic. We've been there for almost two years and both my daughters are happy and thriving there. The teachers are wonderful. There is not a high staff turnover which was difficult to deal with at our old daycare. When we pick up our daughters they are always with the same staff unless someone is sick or on vacation. There are some younger staff but they are out with staff who are older to help them grow as teachers and the younger teachers make the room more exciting and bring fun new ideas. Many of the staff members have been there for years which is a sign the daycare runs well and is managed well. We are very happy with our experience at the Stork Club.
