We chose to stay here because of a write up we had seen in an online magazine. So often we don't get what is advertised and we end up Disappointed, not the case here it is a nice mid sized rv park. Stayed the weekend for their Octoberfest celebration and had the most pleasant experience in a campground environment. They had a live band and vendors and even a jump house for children. The campground itself was clean and well kept. The owners were so nice and very accommodating to any of our needs. People were laughing and just having a great time. Couldn't have asked for anything better. They even have a little store there that you can get anything you may have forgotten to bring. I will not only return again, but also refer anyone I know to stay a weekend or longer there. They have cabins and even covered wagons you can stay in. One of the best places around. read more

Zack was a great host! Very helpful every step of the way and informative. We stayed in the wagon site and I kid you not, one of the most comfy bed I've slept in!! I felt like I was in a hotel bed. Bring your own sheets and comforter or sleeping bag and you will sleep like a baby! Although you can hear the freeway sound near by, I fixed it by earplugs and thank you rain!! For numbing the sound of the wheelers. The bathrooms and showers was very clean and love how it has PIN number locks for exclusivity campers use only and safety too. Zack thought of everything. Would come back and stay here again. Location was convenient when you need a quick comfy bed stay for passing through drives. Our wagon stay was super clean enough to fit a family of four comfortably. Immersed among all the tall pine trees, sunny valley campsite was a hit! Will come come and stay again. read more

Relax in the porch swing in front of the cabin, not a worry in the world. Also a popular spot with Rv campers. The owners and hosts Brandon and Krista were friendly and helpful! Brandon recommend a fishing spot and I limited on trout! One night they played a movie in the pavilion, great family fun! River rafting on the nearby Rouge River! We took a jet boat ride through Hells-gate canyon on the Rouge, so exciting! We love this place and I'm sure you and your family will too! read more

We stayed here Friday and Saturday night of Father's Day weekend. We made the reservations in March of this year over the phone. They were very friendly and helpful accommodating us with a spot that would hold a trailer, a truck camper, a third vehical and a tent. We ended up getting two spots next to each other. The campground was very quiet and well kept. It is close to the freeway and you can hear the freeway traffic but it didn't seem overpowering. It was very reasonable in price, about $100 for two nights for both spots. One of the spots was a partial hook up, electricity and water for the trailer. They have other sites that include a full hookup. There are about eight cabins on the property as well. Each spot has a picnic table and fire pit and/or grill. The campground also has an inground swimming pool that is well kept and clean. The bathrooms and showers are all very clean, no vaulted toilets. We saw them cleaning the bathrooms and showers both mornings. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and they have some amenities inside that can be purchased. Overall a great experience when visiting Southern Oregon!! read more

I really wish these guys had a franchise of RV parks, because they are awesome! The owners are just the coolest, very easy-going, so friendly, and they keep up on the place real nice. Prices are very reasonable for RVs, sewage water electric all available at most spots. Beautiful little area with lots of trees to keep you cool. I also love the place because they don't have a bunch of long-term tenants, that can really be a bummer sometimes. The best halfway point if you're traveling a long ways on I-Five. Made a reservation online while en route and followed instructions to call and let them know we'd be arriving after hours. They hadn't received our reservation and it turned out the camp isn't officially open for the season yet (we stayed mid March) but they were really friendly and accommodating. They told us how to access in a roundabout way, which was easy enough to follow but there's no way we would've figured it out if we hadn't called first. I told them which site I'd reserved (20amp PT) and they offered 2 alternates due to construction happening in the park and said we could park wherever and to make ourselves at home. We basically upgraded our site for free (50amp)! The only drawbacks were arriving at night to a muddy camp with construction zones that were a bit difficult to see and navigate. The women's bathroom was clean enough - it looked like it had recently been upgraded but as affordably as possible and wasn't quite done being updated. I'd love to come back when the weather is nicer and the construction is done because it seems like there's a lot of potential for it to be an awesome spot to camp for a few days. read more

As we were driving home to California through Oregon we decided to stop one more night cause my husband was tired of driving , we found sunny valley campground right off of the freeway and it is an absolute gem , the late check in process was a breeze and the grounds are the cutest I've ever seen . There is such a welcoming and homey feel when you arrive. The grounds are well manicured and easily accessible. They have everything you need. My daughter absolutely loved the big wooden ship playground and we took a dip in the pool before we left the next day. This campground is a clean and nice campground but be aware of the owner Brad. He is pretty rude and also a control freak. I've never been to a campground where the host is so much in your business. I learned that Brad is an retired cop, so I guess he thinks he needs to patrol the campground now? Before I booked the sites, I called and spoke to the owner on the phone. I asked a bunch of questions and expressed that we had a large group coming and she recommended some sites. She also said that they allow one trailer and one tent per site. She made it seem like a few extra people wouldn't be a huge deal. However when we checked in, the whole check in process was fairly messy. I understand that we booked several sites under one card, but they made it way more difficult than it needed to be. I'm addition, they tell us at check in that the campsites and trailer sites only allow 2 people per campsite and then an additional $10 per person. I think that is an outrageous price because not very many people go camping with only one other person. They were generous and only $5 per night for additional people but this was conflicting info from what she told me on the phone. During the check in, Brad was basically standing guard and being completely rude. It almost felt as if he was being prejudice because he didn't like the appearance of some of the people. In addition, he wouldn't let me talk and basically put his hands in the air and loudly told me to stop talking. I was simply trying to explain what was going on. I was very offended and felt extremely disrespected. Camping is about being with family and having a stress free stay away from home. Sadly I didn't get a good start to my stay here because of how we were treated and the mess at the check in. Things started getting a little better, however Brad came around several times for no reason. Basically telling us to keep the fire low, even though it wasn't high. I understand that they don't want a forest fire, but they can also inform us when we arrive or put signs up instead of nagging at every little thing. Apparently this place does believe in free of speech because if you give them your opinion they will come confront you and say you're a liar. Brad stormed up into our campsite and asked who called him rude. He was very pissed and started arguing with us because he didn't like our opinion. He could of avoided this whole confrontation and scene by just ignoring it. But no, he didn't do that, actually he did the complete opposite. In town, some people expressed that they have heard nothing but bad things about this campground. I'm guessing because of the way they treat their customers that pay good/hard earned money to stay there. No one wants to be treated with disrespect. We also thought it was a bit weird that the owner watched the children in the pool, literally the whole time. As soon as the children left the pool, he also left. Weird?!? Another con, the river is pretty far away and there are no hiking trails. Lakes are very far. It's not an ideal place to camp. I prefer to be close to a body of water, preferably walking distance. Rude, rude, rude people but they keep the bathrooms clean. read more

"Sunny Valley Campground" does not do this hidden gem justice. Something like, "Sunny Valley Family Camp Resort" might be more fitting. I can't believe I have lived in Southern Oregon most my life and never heard of it! We had a birthday there this week and none of our guests (all natives as well) hadn't either, so when I tell you I hesitate to leave a review for fear that it will become more popular, I mean it - I have mixed feelings about promoting it, but the owners of SV Campground deserve to be put on a pedestal, so here goes. From my first inquiry call, I knew things were different. I was searching for a place that I could bring a bunch of kids camping and also invite a ton of guests for a party. I told them that right away and instead of the panicked or evasive response I had gotten elsewhere, I got a, "Great! We are here until 8 every day. Come check it out!" When we arrived to tour the grounds, Brad pointed us toward a pavilion that looked like something on the front of a magazine with oversized raw pine pillars with exposed steel hardware, strung with Edison lights. He had built it himself with trees from the property and offered it to us free of charge to host our guests for a party. Our first impression of the owners, Brad and Chris, and their property stayed true through our entire visit and our stay the following week. I was more impressed every moment I was there. Perfect 10 highlights: Family friendly - Something out of a movie. Nostalgic. This place embodied what is missing in our world today. There were some good guidelines such as pool closing at dark, kids under 14 needing to be with an adult in game room, etc., but I was allowed to be parent. I saw the owners working all day every day. I worried that my kids were too rowdy, but they just gave hi-fives. I worried our party was too loud, but they said, "Happy Birthday. I hope you are having the best party every!" On the contrary, if I had been there with friends to party and be wild, I surely would have met a different side of Brad and Chris. They were not prudes, by any stretch; they just made it clear this was a place for families. Cleanliness - Every area was perfectly clean. Spotless campsites. The bathrooms were hands-down the nicest and cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at a campground. They had a ton of people working to keep the property beautiful, not manicured, just perfectly clean - just the way I like it. The cabins and wagons were unbelievable clean - they smelled wonderful and felt so good to be in. Amenities - Such attention to detail! Tent and RV sites, cabins (log cabins with twin bunks, a double bed, table, electric, and a porch swing), covered wagons (with enormous king beds and twin bunks, electric, fans and heaters, and a table), all with picnic tables and fire rings. A pool, a store, book exchange, DVD rentals, horseshoe, volleyball, crocket, playground, game room (air hockey, pool, foosball), board games, dog park, bathrooms (gorgeous) with showers, laundry, propane, water/electric hook ups, dump site, dishwashing station and a group meeting area (ALL FREE OTHER THAN COIN-OP LAUNDRY AND THE DVD'S WHICH ARE $1!!). It was everything we love about going to a resort, but in a campground! Generosity - Offering such an unbelievable experience, Chris and Brad could charge a lot more, but the prices are extremely low. And then, all of the fun is free! The things that did come with a price tag were very inexpensive (example: in the store, we bought birthday candles for $1.25 and ice for $2.50 - same or lower price than the grocery store). They charged no fee for pets or anything else we used. They regularly play movies at the pavilion on the outdoor movie screen for all guests, but offered to play one specially on a Tuesday for the birthday celebration as well. It was so much fun (with popcorn for $0.50)! They let us use chairs and tables for the party, a water bucket for the fire, crocket and badminton supplies as much as we wanted with no fee, not even a waiver. They treated us like family. Atmosphere - Tall shade trees, light breeze, children laughing. Even though it was quite close to the freeway, the noise was barely noticeable and the trees made it feel as though we were in the high mountains. Especially in this time in history where everything feels out of wack, this place felt good, in every sense of the word. They just got everything right. read more

This campground gets a 5 star easily. It is a small campground, but has everything a KOA does minus all the extra fees you pay at KOA. The game room does not cost money and the kids really enjoyed hanging out there. This campground is very clean and so are the bathrooms. If you have a dog, there is a dog park. Stayed recently for a few days here. Pros: Campground is very clean, restrooms and showers well maintained. The couple who run the facility are polite and efficient. Laundry, game room and small pool are available. Cons: If you need groceries, it's a bit of a drive to the nearest grocer. It is right near the freeway and that comes with truck brake noise. The WiFi was mostly non-existent. Even just to check email. If you're looking for a sleepy spot to sit around a campfire this will do! read more

What an awesome place to stay! My boyfriend and I got a covered wagon for the night and we were very impressed. The covered wagons come with a king sized bed, a bunk bed (which would be great if you have kids), and a dining table. We brought our own sheets but you can get some there for $10. There is a picnic table, fire pit, and "porch light" lantern outside of the wagon. They also come with a heater, fan, and have functioning lights. They are spacious and very private. They have awesome amenities like a pool, game room, dishwashing station, library, and a store incase you forget anything. The bathrooms are spotless and also have showers! If you don't want a covered wagon, they also have tent sites, RV parking, and cabins available. There is fresh coffee available in the morning in the main cabin. The owners of the campground are very helpful and will answer any questions you have. If you are considering camping in the area, this is the place to go! read more

Brad and Christine (owners) have done such a spectacular job of upgrading the park. We have had our family reunion here for the last four years and have already reserved for next year. The park is clean, bathrooms and showers are sparkling clean. We always take our RV, but the cabins and now COVERED WAGONS are awesome. They have games, a pool, nice areas to walk and a new leash-free dog area. I haven't been to the Halloween camp out, but I understand that it's so much fun! Decorated campsites, and contests for the best decorated site sounds like fun. read more

This was a lovely and peaceful spot to park our trailer for the night during our trip down the I-5! It's very clean, with a swimming pool, playground and game area and the prices are great! There's a nice dog run area as well. Check-in was seamless and the trailer spots are generous with hook-ups, picnic table and fire ring. They are under new management and they have plans to upgrade the cabins and other areas so the prices may go up. We would have parked here even if we would have had to pay a bit more. We hope they continue with good customer relations as well as keep their maintenance and cleanliness standards up. We will definitely stop in here again in the future. read more

Pros- -campsite was beautiful -Bathrooms were clean--extremely hot with no windows, but kept clean and stocked for the most part thankfully! -pool (since river access is a minimum of 30minutes drive away) -free coffee in the morning Cons- -no river access close -no privacy -And the biggest con of all is the treatment of guests by the male host. Never had anything but positive interactions with the female host personally, but nothing but bad interaction from the male host. And my husband and daughter and we didn't even stay 2 full days when the rest of the party endured 5 days. What I witnessed was enough to know I would never take my child back. The incident I observed was the host walking into our campsite while we were preparing food, and demanded-he did NOT ask- he demanded to know who in our party called him rude. And when she came to speak calmly to him and explain that she had said it in passing conversation with another member of our party in the bathroom that he had been rude to her(her opinion which everyone is entitled to, and he very clearly lived up to) he proceeded to aggressively step forward wagging his finger and yelling at her that she was a liar, and as she tried to say the reasons she had said it in the beginning he just kept yelling that she was a liar. So she started to walk away to avoid further confrontation, and under her breath said he was acting like an idiot he then proceeded to aggressively walk further forward yelling "what?! What?! You know what you can get out and never come back, I'm calling the sheriff." And to that she replied to please do. No sheriff came nothing was followed up on that. The worst part was that of the maybe 15 people that were there to witness the incident at least half were children 10 and under and even more minors. While he may have been upset about her opinion of him, it's not ok morally to go into camp and scream at the grandma even great grandma of the children there in an aggressive manner. Then the last night there was an incident when everyone was sleeping a family was bothered by him tapping on their tent. Overall, like I said the place looked nice, but not worth having my 3 year old daughter witness a grown man yelling and berating family during a vacation getaway. Maybe retiring or a different job would benefit this host. read more

This was a nice rustic campground with beautiful shaded trees throughout. Very nice playground for children and pool (which we did not have he time to enjoy) . Each campsite had a fire pit. Owners delightful, friendly and accommodating. This is definitely a must go to RV park when in the area. We will plan to come again and perhaps stay a little longer than one night. I see others complained about street lights and highway noise. We did not hear any highway noise , nor did we notice excessive lighting in the park. read more

Brad, Chris, Lefty, and Lucy were hands down AMAZING!! The office is stocked full of goodies and essential items from toiletries, breakfast sandwiches, and pizzas to doggie stuff, DVDs and more! The grounds are beautiful, the cabins are clean and cozy and bathrooms were spotless! The game room, book exchange and off leash dog park were a hit with our group. We didnt get to use the pool due to weather but it looked well kept as well. We found this little treasure on our way to get a pup in Medford but now that we know of it we will definitely be making it our go to camping spot. We are even hoping to book a spot for their Halloween Festivities! I highly recommend Brad and Chris' place even if it is just for a short stay- it is absolutely worth it!!! This place is so charming and very well cared for. There are big, beautiful trees all through the campground and pretty flowers and plants all around. It's a very convenient location right off the 5 freeway. It's one of the quietest places we've stayed too! There is a game room that is open 24/7 that has a pool table, foosball, and air hockey tables. We have our motorhome but there are also very cute little log cabins to rent as well. The Rogue River is a short drive away and it's about 20 minutes from Grants Pass so lots to do! We will definitely come back here whenever we are in the area. read more
