All Square D installed by union electrical company. I had contracted Davey Tree company to have a 50 tree oak tree removed and any branches interfering with the sunlight exposure a day before their visit for final details. I get an email from the designer in Florida for my commercial property in Delaware stating they were not licensed in Delaware. A BS answer. They advertise on their website Delaware. They checked the codes here for the design. They may have been in business for 21 years but like a local surgeon stated " you're only as good as your last case. That rank a zero.

Turns out a squirrel made a home under one of my panels and ate through some wire and a converter. The techs found the area where the damage was done and fixed it with a new part. By the way, they handled my service call within 2 days and also had to deal with snow in spots on the roof. They took the damaged component to remove it from the monitoring system and added the replacement. Exact did my install over two years ago and can't tell you how happy I am that I chose them for my solar system. FIRST CLASS!!!!

They asked what it would take to get me to sign, so I named a price 20% less and they came very close to that through "commercial" pricing. I'm sure it's all a gimmick, and I don't care because I got a very fair price. So, their pitch is a bit high-pressure, but yours can be too. Negotiate! When they came to do the work, they were on-time, communicated well, and did high-quality work. And they left a clean job site every night and at the end (most unusual and a marked contrast to previous roofers I had used. When we found a couple of screws at the inspection at the end (really nothing, compared to previous crews from other companies), the rep. apologized. If I could ding them a half-star, I would, because some members of the team did not using fall-arrest harnesses, but it's their workmen's comp, not mine. The building inspector even gave them kudos for getting every fastener into a rafter (I almost fell over, "I guess it's ok" is usually what he considers high praise). The system they sold us has now been in flawless, uninterrupted, operation for two years and I am very satisfied and our expected payback is ahead of schedule. I would definitely use them again.

During heavier rains the work done has created leaks in the roof. Despite several attempts to repair it, it continues to leak and the promises to repair it during the next heavy rain has not been addressed for the last three rains and phone calls are not returned as to when or how they will address the problem that they created. The generation of the electric is great but having things inside the building get wet because of their work is not worth the return. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I would not use them again because of their follow up (poor value). Rick D.

The installation team was professional, courteous, and kept me informed throughout every stage of the project. Overall, the experience was smooth and exceeded my expectations. They were all over the map, but I looked up all the companies, had zoom calls with three of them, and then narrowed it down to Public Service Solar and Infinity Energy. I went with Public Service because they were able to get the job done quickly, and because they had a roofing team as part of their business. They also had the best warranties on everything (roof, work, solar gear). I was also impressed that many of my calls had me talking to the owner/founder of the company, not a lower-level desk jockey. In the end Public Service outperformed all their promises. They got the permits lightning fast, did my roof in a day, and solar install in a 2nd day. The were super professional throughout the process, including placing 2 or 3 follow up calls to make sure everything was satisfactory. They managed the mess of paperwork with the state of NJ to get enrolled in all incentive programs, and one year on, we're saving a ton of money and selling excess production back to the grid. It's proven to be a great financial decision already. Truly I have not had many experiences with major contractors that have been as painless, and I have recommended them personally to several friends and colleagues when they ask me about or solar install.

Our house presented some challenges for the electricians and their portion of the work took longer than expected. The inspector found an issue with a previous electrical upgrade. We were able to hire Evoke to fix that problem and reschedule the inspector. There was another situation with a breaker installed by Evoke that prevented us from being able to monitor our total power generation but that was also fixed in a timely fashion. We did not seek a second estimate because we had been sufficiently impressed by Evoke's work on other houses in our area. The price was steep but it factors out to expectations based on our research. It should pay for itself in less than 12 years; less if electricity rates rise more than is currently predicted. Our only complaint would be that, as homeowners, we were not always communicated with as thoroughly as we would have liked. If we had been told where the electricians would need to be, we would have moved things to make things more accessible. And a heads' up about the number and location of all of the new outside connection boxes would have made it possible to plan how we would deal with them being so visible beside the front door. But those are minor concerns in the overall project. We are very pleased to watch our electric bill drop to next to nothing and we anticipate earning some money back through solar credits.
