Fantastic local spot! We stopped in while passing through- it did not disappoint. They have some fun MI inspired flavors and great options. I got an Iced Carmel Latte, so good! My friend loved their coffee too. They have food options as well. There's indoor seating and the shop is attached to a bookstore. Would recommend!

This was a quick pit stop that we made as we were leaving Tawas and what a cute little coffee shop this was! You will blink almost miss it as there are no major signs on the road, parking in the back, entrance on the side kind of vibe, so it's kind of a if you know, you'll know spot. The coffee shop also has a bunch of holistic and healthy pantry/fridge/freezer essentials that you can shop around for too, which was such a delightful touch. More coffee shops should have this! There were a ton of great options for those with dietary restrictions and my friend who is gluten free found a ton of goodies here that she purchased! The workers here were super friendly and welcoming as well and happily chatted with us as we browsed and placed our orders. I got their butterfly raspberry matcha, which I could tell was made lovingly! The drink wasn't the *best* as the matcha tasted not the best quality and a bit too watered down, but it was still solid. Had a good time here and love that they offered so many options in terms of pastries and other grab and go foods too like pre-made sandwiches. This is a great place for a pit stop and a pick me up if you're passing through, while also great for locals to stop in and pick up some essentials for their homes and a daily caffeine hit as well!

Lovely little coffee shop, bakery, and community crossroads for other locally sourced items. A perfect spot to start your day, whether that be sunrise or lunchtime. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service is quick and friendly. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the coffee is very good! A town without any brand name coffee emporiums, SunnySide Coffee makes a strong argument for why Tawas is better off without them. The business complements the vibe of the town, and visa versa..

The coffee has always been mediocre, but it's been the only place around with decent Wi-Fi and laundry machines. Unfortunately, my most recent visit will be my last. After starting several loads of laundry (paid in cash only--no cards accepted), I stepped out briefly with my kids. We returned about 15-20 minutes after the wash cycles ended, only to be met by the owner, who informed me he had already moved some of my laundry and was charging me $6.50 for the service--which I was willing to pay. However, he also demanded an additional $10 for "lost business," claiming he had to turn customers away, despite having moved my laundry so his machines were available. When I explained that I only had $12 in coins left and offered them to cover the charge, he refused and publicly told me not to come back--right in front of other customers. He lectured me about paying arbitrary fees and insisted it was my "responsibility as a young man." There are no signs posted anywhere about wait times, switching fees, or penalties for unattended laundry. On top of that, the place is unclean and cluttered. Boxes are stacked everywhere, most tables in the café area are covered with stuff, several machines are broken or unreliable, and the so-called accessible restroom is blocked by old coffee equipment. This place is unprofessional, poorly maintained, and run by someone who treats customers with hostility instead of understanding. I will not be returning, and I'd recommend others think twice before supporting this business.

I'm very excited about the bath scrub and the kitchen essentials I bought... and the cans of different Michigan made drinks! My husband, daughter, and I stopped in during the summer of 2020 because it looked like a cute shop. Not only were we followed around the store by who I presume were the owners, my husband was almost chastised for inquiring about a restroom. This year we decided to give it another chance because once again, it's a cute shop with cute items. I stopped to look at some of the beard products for my husband. I picked up a tin of beard balm, opened the UNSEALED lid to smell, and put it back. An older gentleman (the owner's husband per a young female employee) walked up to me out of nowhere and very condescendingly asked if I just broke the seal on the product and shook his head in disgust at me. I immediately went to find my husband and daughter to let them know we would be leaving. As I walked to the back of the store, the gentleman was speaking with a young female employee about me and what I had evidently just done to the product. I'm a grown woman who was raised with respect. Never would I ever pick up a product and intentionally damage it in any way just so I could smell it. I do not appreciate being treated this way as a customer and based on this place's Google reviews, a lot of other people don't appreciate it either. As a business owner, kindness goes a long way. Being rude, arrogant, and unpleasant is so off-putting and has just lost mine and countless friends/family member's business.

The issue with the small boutique coffee centric businesses in this area is they are not open every day with much shorter hours than Bigby which is a huge plus for Bigby's. Something I greatly appreciate and a nice convenience for the greater Oscoda area. You can always count on these guys to be open to get your hot cup of Joe daily. Nice! As far as what they offer, they have all the coffee drinks you would expect from a Barista operation with some food options to boot. They also open quite early (I believe around 5am) where the breakfast food offerings makes them a standout for this area for the early risers. Relative to staff and facility, the staff was quite friendly and had quick service where the inside dining area is quite clean with plenty of dining tables, two computer work station areas and some cushioned furniture seating area for a more comfortable experience. Overall, quite nice and a big plus for this business. If you are looking for good coffee in the area with reliable hours where depending on the day and time you can either go here or go to McDonalds/Burger King. Tough choice right (:

We had been to three establishments and struck out at all of them (felt weird, closed, and closed) and I was delirious with caffeine withdrawal when we came upon Lemon Tree. I saw a woman walking down the street carrying a coffee cup and I almost screamed "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?" from our car, but then I saw the storefront--Lemon Tree Marketplace. And I remembered from their Yelp reviews that they had coffee. We came to a screeching halt and went inside. First, yes, the coffee. They stuff here is good! I wasn't sure when I'd get another chance so I got both a cold brew and a vanilla latte. Both were excellent. The cold brew was a vanilla sweet cream variety and that cold foam/sweet cream on top was so good (think thick whipped cream meets a marshmallow). We also got a half dozen donuts and they were so great! Really enjoyed the krullers and the raspberry filled one was delicious and unique! The shop itself is also really cute. I got some stickers from one of my favorite artists (the mincing mockingbird) and enjoyed perusing their housewares, gifts, jewelry, ceramics, kitchen goodies and more. Just delightful. They also have really nice seating outside both on the side of the building and a little outdoor patio in the back that was just perfect on a sunny September afternoon.
