I have been to several groomers over 35 years of owning 3 different breeds and by far, Bichon Frise, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and Poodle grooming is done exceptionally well if you know the length and style you would like. After talking to Brittany (manager) on the phone regarding what I wanted in a cut for my golden doodle, Hope, she assured me they would discuss when I got there exactly what I wanted and they did! I picked her up after a text saying she was 20 minutes out and she looked awesome! Taylor cut her and it was perfect! Will definitely be back! I was very disappointed in the groomer . I will not be going back again . They cut my dog back leg and said he had a scab that broke open . That is in correct my dog never had a scab . My dog had a huge cut that needed medical attention and had to go on pain pills along with an antibiotic. They refuse to help with the vet bill and never even offer to reimburse the cost of the grooming . Mistakes happen and I understand that but at least come half way to help with the cost and show the customer when something like this happens. read more

Don't take your animals there for grooming. We took my Lhasa Apso there for grooming and whoever clipped him cut him to the skin under his chin on his neck. Not only did they not tell us when this happened, but when I called to receive some sort of explanation, the manager hung up on me. Now my dog is on oral antibiotics and topical antibiotics. I just wanted to know what happened because anyone can make a mistake. read more

When I originally posted this review I spared the details of my very first experience with this establishment in an effort to express my dissatisfaction for my experience without sharing exactly what all went wrong. After all, every business and everybody makes mistakes and can have a off day. But, after posting a 1 star review with no comments, the business owner replied with the following... "Response from the owner 7 hours ago What, if you have really been to Sunnyside, was the issue? Normally, when a customer with 2 no shows continues trying to schedule their dogs, they are usually pretty happy, so what gives? Mean and not very manly, kind of par for the course these days. Let us know how we can improve, Miss Fowler, instead of bombing us with a non review.' Ok. So now, now I'm really ticked off. So, the biggest issue with MY ONLY visit to this grooming salon is that despite being given instructions as to how I wanted my dog groomed. I was horrified when i was contacted near the end of the business day and told that my dog had "accidentally" been mixed up with another and WAS COMPLETELY SHAVED. Face and ALL!!!! Poor thing, she looked horrible. I was also contacted by the owner who apologized and said that I would not be charged for the grooming. I should hope not! I went in to pick up my nearly hairless pup and the tiny, crowded, disorganized service area was busy much like it was when i dropped my pooch off earlier that day. The kennel areas are adjacent to the front entrance but behind closed doors but there was a strong pet odor coming from the kennels (more than I would have expected from a grooming salon). The owner once again gave her apologies and I was so upset that I left as soon as i possibly could. Heck, I needed to shop for pet sweaters after this debacle. I was obviously not in the best headspace when i went to pick up my dog but was shocked when the owner called again the next day to inform me that they had forgotten to put my dog's collar back on before she left and if I would like that I could come back and pick it up. Needless to say, I chose to sacrifice the collar to avoid having to visit this salon again. THAT is what i was trying to be polite and discrete when i originally posted my review by not adding comments, but since the owner seemed to want to get some sort of reaction from me.... there you all have it! Now, about the owner's comments. I have never made or missed any additional appointments with this salon. As a matter of fact a close family member of mine was thinking of giving Sunnyside a try and they started to send text notification regarding new appointments for grooming to my cell phone. I contacted the business and informed them of the incorrect appointment reminder texts and was told that someone else in my family had booked their dogs for grooming. I restated that they had the wrong number. And lets think about using big words with a bit more forethought next time "Owner". You wrote "mean and not very manly" ...so much for gender awareness and sensitivity, not to mention plain old tact. You went on to write "kind of par for the course these days...". Well at least we now know how many of your business interactions have been going. I mean those are your words and the light you obviously see your customers in. Finally, I would have assumed that since this was sort of a big OOPS on yall's part and we spoke on the phone on at least 2 occasions (not to mention meeting me at check in and having my paperwork on file) that you might possibly remember that you are speaking with MR. MOULTON-FOWLER, a male...with a beard... and for the record, if someone has a hyphenated last name, it is considered proper etiquette to address them by their complete last name. It isn't up to you to choose which of the 2 last names you would like to use when addressing someone. In closing, you asked for suggestions on how you could improve. Here are my thoughts... 1. Study effective customer service skills and implement them. 2. Evaluate your physical location. Your salon looked more like an overcrowded sweatshop than a professional business. 3. Implement SOME sort of effective recordkeeping system to document customer's information, requests, dog info and a tracking system for the animals left in your care including their belongings. 4. Be careful when addressing customers in public forums such as Google reviews. Some folks just dont take to that kind of thing kindly and might develop an unpleasant idea of you and your business without ever giving you a chance to serve them. There are TONS of GREAT groomers in this area. It might not be the best idea to show your rear end like this. So, "Owner" you said i "bombed (us) with a non review. I've taken my dog to Sunnyside Grooming since it opened and have always been extremely satisfied with their services. I have a Bichon Frise and he has a tendency to get matted if he's not bathed and brushed often. Who has time for that? I now have a standing appointment every two weeks for my dog. Their prices are reasonable, the service is top notch and the products they use always gives me a clean smelling dog to take home. read more

New grooming salon alert !! I was trying to find a last minute groomer in my area (Taylors), since I couldn't get my sister's dog in my usual groomers. The location is where a different dog grooming place used to be. Sometimes when people think name change, people still think it's the same management. But Sunnyside Grooming has new owners compared to the previous owner when it was Kathy's Puppy Spa. The owners, Charles and Vicky are sweet as can be. Vicky groomed Augustus, and did an amazing job. Augustus, a dog who doesn't like other dogs or new people, totally enjoyed his time here. I will leave another review, once I take my dog to get a bath. I will leave an after picture. read more

Love them! My dogs are always well taken care of and the prices are more than reasonable

I brought 2 of my dogs here 3 times. The first time it was great. Second time she cut one dog close on her private parts and she had razor burn. The last time my husband took the dogs in and asked her to not cut Penny so close. So she starts asking him what blade should she use, like he would know anything about that. Needless to say we had to have Penny to the vet twice due to an infection she got from being cut too close. I know Penny's hair grows in all crazy directions in that area but we have had her groomed her whole life and never had an issue like this before. Will never go back. read more

This place is a sorry ass excuse for a "grooming salon". The dog (Rose), has been here a couple times and since it's summertime my family wanted a shorter haircut for Rose. My Mother and Father told them specifically not to cut our golden doodle like a short poodle-type haircut. Yet they did. They made my dog bleed and have irritated skin because she was cut in some areas with a flat out 0 razor. They said she was a stubborn dog but they made her like them, whatever that means. Without a doubt they rough housed my dog around. Rose has been on edge the past couple of days, she flinches whenever we go to pet her face now.
