We toured three different places, but the moment Ana Cruz started showing us around Wecare, I felt an immediate sense of comfort. Ana was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely caring. She didn't just give us a quick tour -- she took the time to explain everything thoughtfully and introduced us to many staff members along the way. By the end of the visit, I knew this was the right place for my mother-in-law. After she moved in, we had an introduction meeting with three key department heads -- Nursing, Physical/Occupational Therapy, and Social Services. They explained the care plan in detail and helped set clear expectations from the beginning. That meeting was extremely helpful and reassuring. I especially appreciated it because when my own mom stayed at a different skilled nursing facility in the past, we never received that kind of organized communication or support. Throughout my mother-in-law's stay, every CNA, nurse, and staff member treated her with kindness, respect, and warmth. They were always supportive and friendly, and it gave our family so much peace of mind knowing she was surrounded by people who truly cared. Ana also went far beyond her role in admissions. My "insurance" sent me to Preferred Rehab. The physical therapist was very nice, but nice doesn't get me back on my feet again. She never examined my injury. She seemed very unsure of herself, and the treatment that she would have me do. There were random patients "working-out" in the facility and she was working with me and two other women at the same time, leaving me alone to do exercises by myself for long periods of time. This is therapy? They looked to be understaffed and did not have the equipment needed to rehabilitate my knee. I also had an issue with her having me to use the same pillow as another patient without changing the pillow case. It seemed unsanitary. I definately will NOT be going back.

The PTs are super friendly and they have access to all the latest gadgets to fix you up. I had hot packs, EMS (TENS), Traction, Manual Manipulation/Massage, Ultrasound treatment and of course, machine based exercise too. They also gave me endless advice on how to avoid further and future injury to my back. They talked to me like a person, not just a client. They cared about my well-being.

The food was delish. Dad didn't love the coffee but he can make his own. :) The staff has been there a long time and the ownership is also long-term which I find stable. There are a lot of pluses, but the icing on the cake was that each of three different residents talked to us in passing, and they were very cheerful and appeared happy. My dad is excited to move in soon, and it's a relief to the rest of the family. We're looking forward to my dad experiencing the Men's club, weekly happy hour, and nightly movies. My father lived in this facility for nine months, during which he fell 13 times, despite my clear…read moreand early disclosure that he had Parkinson's dementia. Rather than revising his care or offering support, the facility ultimately evicted him after his final fall, labeling him a "fall risk"--a fact they had known since day one. They violated legal eviction procedures by failing to give a 30-day notice, and informed me while I was out of the country, leaving my father in the hospital and me scrambling to find a new place for him. The lack of empathy during a vulnerable time was inexcusable. To make matters worse, the facility said the only way they would allow him back was if I paid for a private 24/7 nurse--an expense they knew was unrealistic. This was clearly a tactic to push him out while appearing cooperative on paper. Not sure if Aireen T. is still the director but she is not responsive, professional, caring, or compassionate at all. I had to involve Ombudsman to get responses from her on everything. There are also serious safety and staffing concerns. During a power outage in the heat of summer 2024, the facility had no backup generator. We overheard firefighters asking staff where the generator was, and staff admitted there wasn't one. During this incident a female resident was stuck in the elevator for literally hours on a hot summer day!! It was horrifying. Others, like the woman across from my father's room, were left in the dark yelling "hello, is anybody there?" My family and I went to her to calm her down ourselves as no staff member checked on her or other residents to reassure them during this electricity outage. They are clearly understaffed and many of the caregivers are not certified CNAs, and it shows. Staff routinely defer to residents' refusals for essential care, and hygiene, rather than providing informed, proactive support for those with cognitive conditions. Many times I showed up and I could smell he hadn't showered. When I asked staff why they would say that he refused so they didn't do it. Medication for my father was not consistently dosed at a consistent time which was also a huge problem. My father also experienced racism from two other residents, and when I raised this with the Director Aireen, they brushed it off--blaming the behavior on health issues such as UTI and did nothing to protect or acknowledge the harm done to my father. Aireen and executive management did nothing to soothe our concerns. This facility is not safe, not equipped, and not compassionate. I would not trust them with any loved one under any circumstances.

I even brought in a gadget that I found on Amazon that was advertised to help my neck pain and he was able to tell me if it was useful or not (it was not, whomp whomp). If all this wasn't enough, my favorite part about working with Dr. Larry is that he collaborates with the patient for plan of care. He doesn't just tick off boxes on what's next for my treatment options-- he validates my concerns, asks clarifying questions, and then we make a decision together. His approach to patient-centered care goes above and beyond. He's the type of doctor where if I have a question or need help, I can call his office and his team will work together to help me.
