It made me realize just how unkind and uncaring my GP and most of the staff at the clinic I go to are in comparison. MICHAEL, who I spoke with on the phone and who set up my appointment was a delight. He is exceptionally personable, coming over to greet me personally after I checked in. He and I spoke a bit about my condition and he was so encouraging, so caring, I found him to be a refreshing change from previous experiences. I must say. everyone in the building who I encountered was super friendly, warm and attentive. The x-ray peeps were fast, efficient and friendly. The MA who took me back to the exam room was also awesome, helping to make my experience as stress free as possible. I am grateful for all of them as I do not experience this type of professionalism nor care from the clinic I currently go to, nor have I experienced anything like it from UCSFs orthopedic department. The MA left after doing her work and a few minutes later the PA arrived, she was carrying a laptop, came in and introduced herself, then sat down FACING ME. Nobody at UCSF, nor at my. Clinic does this. They all sit facing the computer screen, their backs to me the entire appointment. The PA was amazing, asking good questions and actually responding to questions, concerns and events which lead me here, another thing I do not experience at my GPs office. The PA was exceptionally patient and thorough. When done, she said it would be a few minutes of wait and then I would see Dr.Sah. Dr.Sah came in, fist bumped me and apologized for the trials and tribulations I have endured over the last 8 plus years. He asked some good questions, we went over some things which needed clarification and he said he wanted to determine the results of a blood test I recently had, which may or may not rule out my suspicions of having a metal allergy which is causing all sorts of problems with my health and well being. Dr. Sah kept things real and was honest and I really appreciated that as I have had too many incidents of flat out lying or lying by onion by too many surgeons. Dr, Sah appeared to be taking in everything and clearly was paying attention to the details...so important in healthcare. I appreciated everyone's time and attitude, so refreshing and validating. I hope future interactions with Dr.Sah are just as rewarding. A special thank you to Michael, who has been wonderful from the moment we started this journey.
