I went in for a cleaning and a check up and the cleaning was not done well compared to other cleanings I've had. It felt like the bare minimum was done. Usually, the hygienist goes in with the pick to clear out all the stuff that get stuck at the top of the tooth, but they didn't. I was also given all the expensive frills without asking me ($30 fluoride rinse, unnecessary $150 X-Rays), which I later found out how expensive they were once the bill came due. Typical of all dentists offices, they'll ask if you're covered, and if you are they'll just give you everything so the bill is over $500 in order to make your visit as profitable for them as possible. I don't mind if procedures are explained to me (what the cost is, why I need it, etc.) so I can make an informed decision, but I don't appreciate my money being spent without asking or explanation because I'm covered. Never going back.

Dr. Fakirani is a very nice soft spoken man who is professional and competent. Deanna is a joy to have great you when you enter the clinic. Ok, so reasons why he is the best dentist in Calgary: -He knows his stuff, and is quick and efficient. -He only does as many procedures as you need, such as xrays and fillings, and he always consults you about doing said procedures. He doesn't try to sell you anything you don't need. -That's his art on the walls! (from his younger days) -He cares about you, and remembers you and your family That's Dr. Chan. But in addition to all of that, you get the warmest, friendliest, funniest and most helpful staff ever. They do their best to book you in for the times you need, to chat with you while you wait, and to remember you every time you come in. They are, in short, totally awesome. My son hasn't been to a dentist in years (long story) and they were really great with him - and me. They didn't judge our teeth, just told us what needed to be done, etc. I had a cleaning done - and - before the cleaning, my hygienist noticed I had a joint replacement and said I needed to take some pills before they did the cleaing - kudos to Tracy for noticing that! I had to make another appointment, but felt so much better knowing about it first - because apparently there are some really bad side effects if you don't take the antibiotics first! I emailed today because I am having toothaches and need to have something done and they replied, again, very quickly, and I have an appointment tomorrow (next day). I have now found a regular dentist and feel really good about it! Highly recommend them!!

I went to my dental cleaning on Jan 31st, 2022, to Monterey Dental Centre, I been having tooth…read moresensitivity. I was told by Dr. Jones that I will need a crown soon. I decided to start the process as it is urgent. I was told to pay in advance for the dental process in two payment stages verbally. I did agree at first. And booked the appointment for Fed 3rd for the first process of the dental crown. On Feb 2nd I called and spoke to Sherry regarding the appoint to clarify to understand the process regarding the dental insurance. It didn't make sense that they wanted me to pay for the process in advance. Apparently, the pre-determination wasn't even submitted I asked Sherry to submit the pre-determination I was frustrated because I was never given the option to go through my dental insurance for the procedure. I asked Sherry to get back to me as ASAP once they receive the pre-determination. On Feb 8th I called Manulife my benefit provider to see if Monterey Dental has sent a pre-Determination and apparently, they haven't. I called the office and spoke with the Dalyce at the dental office, and she told me that the pre-determination was sent by mail with the X-rays Jan 31st, Which is a different date I was told. By this point I'm really upset and very frustrated, because this crown is urgent. I have wasted my time and effort to get this work done. Not professional Dalyce had nothing to say and only sorry to hear that. So, Unprofessional and bad work ethics. It's obviously a reflection of how they get treated and how they treat their patients. Its about the money and not in the best interest of the patients. I don't recommend this dental office for major work.
