Ollie Steele Burden Manor was a perfect fit for me. The rehab department offered both physical and occupational therapy. My ankle was in very bad condition both pre and post op. The therapists got me up and walking with a walker in a short period of time. I can't praise them enough. They never let me slack off. The nursing staff checked on me several times a day. My medications were delivered on a timely basis. The aides tended to my needs. Housekeeping cleaned my room and bathroom daily. There is a hair salon and a nail salon. The food was very good and plentiful. The building was clean, odor free, and spacious. I truly do not have one complaint.

On the other hand the nursing home side of the facility is horrible. The food is horrible, the staff doesn't appear to care about the patients and it's an old person's prison. If you have a loved one and you are considering Ollie Steele, look around for other alternatives. If you are still unsure, go to the nursing home side, during mealtime, see how the patients are neglected, not fed when finally served their food is cold, etc. Look at the interactions between the staff and the patients, unbelievable. The facility has so much potential and the grounds are beautiful, this place is so disappointing.

Patients are left for hours with no attention.Do not leave your loved one there with the expectation that because you are paying a fortune they are getting exceptional care. . I had to pull my loved one out ....have never been so disgusted . I am an RN and would not recommend this facility to anyone I care about. They are more concerned with aesthetics of the independent living areas than patient care. Don't be fooled by the chandeliers and new paint ....its all for looks . Never assume you can forget about your loved one thinking they are being cared for. You MUST check on them daily .
