This was my first year getting my mammogram done at this facility and I really liked how efficient they were. To begin with there's plenty of parking. It was nice not having to drive around and look for a parking spot or have to park a mile away. There's also hardly a wait time anywhere. There were enough receptionists so I didn't wait to get checked in and then I think I only waited 4 or 5 min. in the waiting area and then the mammographer came and got me. The room was very clean and she was really nice and efficient. I liked being able to get in and out. read more

Warning: Screws and nails. Great place, but! There's construction screws/nails. I picked up 4 "near the site" in the back- for overflow parking today and one two days ago, and saw one leaving the round-about. It's not Ochsner, but it is the construction company you have to pass to get to your appt. Someone do something plz. read more

I have had a complete hysterectomy and a colonoscopy at The Grove and each experience was seamless and pleasant. The facilities are nice and the staff from pre-op, check-in through check-out are exceptional and truly care! Every single person you come in contact with! There is a calming energy from the time you are greeted throughout the entire procedure. A call from The Grove this morning checking on me from my procedure prompted me to write this review. My first choice would be The Grove every time! I hope this helps others in choosing a facility to have their medical procedures. Like every healthcare facility, people have wildly different experiences. I'm so lucky to have had mostly great experiences. I recommend the rheumatology department (shout out to Katie Guillory and her staff. I'd like to really highlight Joan, the rheumatology clinical pharmacist. She is so helpful, EXTREMELY knowledgeable and genuinely wants to help the patient. Joan explains whatever procedure or treatment so thoroughly and actively listens to whatever concerns or questions you have. Thank you Joan! read more

This review applies to only one employee and not Ochsner as a whole. Yvette at the registration desk on Wednesday, June 27, 2033 around 8:00am. I had an appointment for a scan at 9:30. I come from Walker and never knowing what traffic will be I always leave early. Plus I was always taught to be on time (or early) for medical appointments. I arrived and went to check in and Yvette told me she wasn't going to check me in, I was too early and I would have to come back at 15 minutes before my appointment. And the way she said it was so very ugly. I never asked to be put ahead of anybody, I was just going to sit and wait and read my book. I also had to fast for this test and I know me, if I had been home I would be wanting my coffee so sitting there waiting kept me on my fast too. I tried to explain that to Yvette and she cut me off and wouldn't allow me to finish my sentence. I've been an Ochsner patient since 1999 and NEVER have I been fussed at for being early. In fact NEVER have I been treated badly until I had the unfortunate "pleasure" of having to check in with Yvette. I would understand if space was a problem but there were about 30 empty seats the entire time I was there. Yvette is old enough to know how to treat a patient, she is certainly not a young lady just staring out. If anything I would say she is way closer to retirement then she probably admits. Yvette needs to be trained on how to treat a patient because she is just plain ugly. I tried to find a number for Ochsner Human Resources so I could address ibis issue there but could find no way of contacting them so Yvette you get your own Yelp complaint and 1 star review. When o go to my next appointment and see Yvette there I will just skip the appointment, life is too short to put up with an ugly Yvette. read more

Went in for esophageal manometry; inserting a tube through your nose and down your throat to test esophagus motility. Tried it once before years ago but couldn't complete. RN James Allen's incredibly calming demeanor during this horrific procedure is absolutely the only reason that I was able to complete this procedure. Thanks!!! read more

I had an appointment scheduled on Tuesday for 1pm. At the Ochsner off of O'Neal lane in BR. i was in time for the appointment and I waited and waited. My name was never called. 25 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, I saw the nurse come out and ask anothet waiting patient "do you have an appointment with Dr.----? " the patient replied yes. The nurse said "she is in surgery, do you mind waiting? The parient replied no. The nurse began to walk back to the door in which she came out of. I said to the nurse. Excuse me mam. I have an appointment scheduled with that nurse as well. She stated oh I will have to see whats going on with your appointment. Another nurse came out and said, "She is in surgery and she is canceling clinic. I said Ok I understand. I can reschedule. We rescheduled to Thursday at the Bluebonnet location. I arrived 20 min early for my appointment. I was called back about 5 min after 9. The nurse walked out at 915. From 915 to 10am I sat in a room in a gown.....No one ever came in. I peeked my head out the door and beckoned for the nurse. I said "I'm going to have to reschedule again." She said why. I said "I have been sitring here undressed for an hr and no one has come. "She said "she'll be right in".....Im thinkimg I've heard this before. I think Ochsner has some great physicians. I really do. However, this experience was completely unacceptable. To have a patient wait an hr is beyond me. I am just flabbergasted at the wait...... I spoke with the clinic manager. She was very nice. She listened to my concerns. I was seen immediately. Dr.----- was great.... This review is not about the care but how inconsiderate there were with my time. I think thwy should reconsider how they schedule appointments read more

Due to my chronic illness, I'm here quite often. I'm happy to say that everyone I've encountered from the lab techs, to the receptionists to the nurses to my many physicians have for the most part, been pretty pleasant. The building itself could use some renovations, but I think there's a new location being building anyway. I've come for both Morning and Afternoon appointments...no matter what time you go, it's always crowded. Parking is a beast. But oddly, the wait for a receptionist is never long, if there's a wait at all. read more

I have cancer and I'm on oxygen I come with my son who is having a procedure here today to drive him home because he will be sedated and can't drive I'm being forced to wear a mask when I already cannot breathe I showed them the mask mandate exclusions per our governor but the lady at the desk basically said without a note from my doctor saying I'm on oxygen I pretty much could be faking being on oxygen trust me I don't enjoy this tube being stuck up my nose every day all day and having trouble breathing ochsner Get it Togather your a Joke !!!!!!! read more

@OchsnerHealth absolutely sucks at being PCPs or Pain Management physicians. Don't you dare entrust your care to them. You will regret it. #opiateepidemicrefugee The opiate epidemic absolutely sucks. It has totally destroyed the concept of Pain Management. If you need pain management, God help you, because no one else will, ESPECIALLY the providers with Ochsner Clinic at Summa and it's probably a system-wide problem with Ochsner Healthcare period since their so-called Pain Management Department "doesn't believe in giving prescription medications or pain medications of any kind." How the hell do they manage pain, the "procedures" and "injections" they tout like a desperate mantra, hoping that by charging insurance thousands for procedures that never had a prayer of working anyway and giving steroid-based injections on a regular basis to hapless patients trapped by the so-called "opiod epidemic" into Pain Management that does anything but and God help you if you actually take your medication AS PRESCRIBED but have emergency dental or surgical events where you are given pain medication or trauma like a broken bone. The you'll be breaking your pain contract and you will find yourself just like me: dumped by not only your so-called "pain management" physician (DON'T USE LA PAIN DOC in Metairie/LaPlace, LA you will regret it) but also without a PCP if you're unlucky enough to have entrusted your health to Ochsner Health Systems (especially Dr. Jeryl Breaux and the ENTIRE Primary Care Department at the Summa Location in Baton Rouge, and possibly system-wide) who were so afraid to put anything I was told at my supposed "doctor's appointment" that turned into an Administrative and Legal Department ambush I would absolutely not get anything in writing to take to the Emergency Rooms I was told to go to until I found a new Pain Management physician who actually still did medication management. And then my daughter and I were escorted out by security guards when I dared ask for ANY documentation to take to these supposedly helpful E.R.'s who would be glad to help because hey, none of the doctors on your "Care Team" are going to step up and take over prescribing your medications that you've taken AS PRESCRIBED for 3+ years then suddenly don't need and shouldn't ask for because of the "opiate epidemic." I call bullshit. If it were ANY medication other than pain medication that has the syllable "oxy" in it I would have absolutely no problem getting it prescribed until a new specialist could step in but because they are "pain management" medications suddenly I'm Julie Junkie and am losing doctors right and left because I dare ask for medication I've taken AS PRESCRIBED for 3+ years but now EVERYONE is afraid to prescribe it anymore thanks to 2% of the population screwing it up for everyone and the only people not getting blamed are the abusers themselves. "Oh, big pharma did it!" "No, the prescribing doctors are to blame!" "Let's regulate all to the point where doctors are too afraid to even prescribe painkillers." I didn't ask to be put on opiate pain medication, I was told that was my only choice, and 3+ years after making what was the "only choice" I certainly have no right to ask and can't ask or expect to have any doctor at Ochsner Healthcare, be it clinic or hospital, to help provide medication I supposedly "can't suddenly stop taking" while I search for a Pain Management Physician that actually manages pain. If I were strung out on heroin, the whole medical system and community would throw Suboxone, etc. at me while pampering me through all my withdrawal symptoms with a sad smile and some comment about how modern medicine failed me and forced me into addiction. As a chronic pain patient who DIDN'T abuse their medication, I am in the wrong for even requesting my current treatment, effective or not, be continued by someone outside the Pain Management field, even when I was referred to Pain Management for continuing medication management. I've actually been told to "keep going to Emergency Rooms" until I find a replacement Pain Management physician, if I can even find one who will treat me. The entire Pain Management Department of Ochsner "doesn't believe in prescribing medication of any kind." What a crock. read more

I'm currently 8 months pregnant and have been going to this location since month 1. My husband and I tried the hospital location and we waited forever and didn't enjoy our experience. I love all the midwives and nurses at Summa and never have to wait long for my appointments. I've gone so many times in the past few months and have never once had a bad experience. I will definitely continue to go to this location and plan to bring my child to the pediatricians there. read more
