On top of that, there is a great vegan cream cheese. The workers were so accommodating and gave amazing suggestions. The place is cute too! Suggest moving display cases to the windows. Or fill that space somehow so customers aren't waiting there. Walking up to the door and seeing people standing shoulder to shoulder in the windows made me not want to enter. It also makes the business look much smaller than it is. I went to place my online order in my car instead and felt awkward trying to buy anything extra (even tho I wanted to) when I went in to pick up as the waiting customers were all looking at me as I enter. YES, Yelp, why I do recommend Sunrise Bagel. The bagels are so consistently good. I was nervous they wouldn't be great when I saw how large they were, but they maintained the characteristics of a bagel and it didn't morph into a donut/dinner roll. Nice crusty exterior and a chewy delicious interior. The variety of cream cheese is excellent too. Get here early. Seriously, if you want to have a choice and don't want anyone in your party disappointed get here early. They sell out quickly. I love the cheese coated bagels. YUM!!! They also have sweet treats. I loved the rice crispy treats and a danish of sort that we got. Plenty of parking across the street. Be prepared to wait shoulder to shoulder with others or just outside of the door. I LOVE SUNRISE!!!!! It has become my obsession. They have so many bagel options. My go-to is a salt bagel with grilled cheese and avocado, or the Mainer (cream cheese, lox, capers, tomato, and onion) is also quite good. They also have many drink options- I particularly enjoy the raspberry lemonade. Very pretty and cute shop. There are lots of picnic tables outside to sit at when it's warm out. The staff is so incredibly friendly. The only thing is I wish Sunrise was open past 1pm :( I miss Sunrise when I'm not in Waterville over the summer!!! read more

Wow! We wanted to switch it up from Big G's and this was great! For the first time ever, I wanted to call the place and tell them how much I loved eating that sandwich (while still in the car). I got a 207, I think I'd read about it before and who knew egg salad could taste that good with such simple ingredients? I think that is their secret. It's a relatively simple menu and their ingredients are high quality and have lots of flavor. My partner got the Kennebec (a simple breakfast bagel sandwich, he chose Pork Roll) and the egg was cooked perfectly for the sandwich. It's not the cleanest car eating, but you can get napkins and the sandwiches are wrapped in paper, cut in half, and then aluminum cover. This is the first time I've ever noticed a bunch of college kids also patronizing a place, which also seems like a good sign. It's also cheaper than Sand Hill Bagels. Service was lovely and the owner (I think) is running the register and he makes it feel very welcoming. We will definitely be back. read more

The best bagel shop north of Portland! We found Sunrise Bagel on a recent trip to MDI and now it is our go-to breakfast stop. We went last Saturday morning at around 10:30 and they still had a large selection of bagels and pastries. In addition to a wide variety of bagels (jalapeño cheddar, rosemary, maple honey), they have lots of cream cheeses, including a vegan choice. I had the salt bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagels here are fresh and crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, similar to what you would get in the tristate area. I also tried a blueberry danish. It had fresh blueberries and was also delicious. We also ordered a couple of iced chais with oat milk. I prefer a spicier chai, this was kind of syrupy sweet for my taste, but still good! It was a busy Saturday morning and the service still was polite and fast. This is a great little spot in Waterville and will be our go-to when traveling north. read more

This is an excellent bagel shop! The bagels are some of the best in Maine and they have lots of spreads and sandwiches to choose from. Fun flavors too, like rosemary and zatar. There is a wonderful rotation of seasonal pastries and baked goods, too. Tip: The space is small, so it's an order and go shop. This was my second visit to Sunrise Bagel because I reserve judgement until at least the second visit. It's was a Sunday morning, so I didn't mind the crowd and was being patient. I ordered a toasted cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese and the cashier asked for my name, which I said James. They said something that wasn't my name, so I said again "James" which they said "Oh, okay, got it". So I wait along the others ahead of me (again I knew it was busy). Their process is to call out the name only, not the order. The others get their order, and then those behind me start getting their orders. This is now 10-15 minutes. It didn't click for me until someone way after me named "Mikey" was actual "Micky", so I ask if they could check for "James" and it took them a good minute to realize that my order was under "Chase", not "James". I remembered them calling out "Chase" but figured it was someone else because it not close to my name. How do you get a common name like James wrong after clarifying it? And I waited about 10 minutes longer than I should have for my order which was simple. And they didn't offer to remake it or make the whole situation right after realizing it. Just said "sorry about that" and moved to the next order. I get staff may be new and in training but this was not an isolated event while I was there. The cashier was consistently getting names wrong. And after realizing it their only respond was "sorry". If Sunrise reads this, my recommendation is to call out orders with the name, like coffee shops do. "Chase, a cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese" would have prevented my poor customer experience. The only reason I gave this two stars and not one is the bagel actually tasted good. But the poor customer service is not acceptable. If you order, spell out your name and make sure the cashier gets it right. I will not be returning which is shame because the bagels are tasty. read more

Sunrise Bagle just open here in Augusta, Maine I never been to Sunrise Bagel because no vehicle it's hard for me to get to Waterville. First day of my vacation I wanted to try their coffee I got a large ice coffee I actually love it great coffee flavor as in aroma even better it's made in Maine. Unfortunately they don't have flavors in which isn't a big deal to me. I rather support a local business vs corporate business we need more small businesses to thrive. BTW their maple walnut Pastry has great flavor. I'll be back next week to try one of their sandwiches. I met the owner she was awesome she greeted herself to me asked opinions that's great customer service right there me working in retail for almost 14 years that's my number one goal is great customer service.
