Use Caution: As many other reviewers have noted, the dissatisfaction occurs when you need them after you've paid your money - which they take in full prior to install completion (the final 50% is charged first thing in the morning on day of install prior to crew even showing up) The crew broke a water line (said it was my problem to resolve), now 4 months after install, my gate door won't open all the way due to sagging. In spite of their written claim of 'free gate adjustments for life' they are not standing behind this. Here is the verbiage from their site: " if you are located within 45 minutes from our shop, your installation includes a free gate realignment warranty. Over time, your gate may start to sag or drag on the ground. This can happen when the posts settle after install. This is normal - and we provide a free re-alignment to all of our customers, at no charge. Just call us when this happens, and we can go out, readjust the hinges, and make sure the gate will swing and open / close properly again." Their response was that adjusting the latch or hinge will not correct issue. What??!! read more

I love the fence it is beautiful. They did it within a week of me calling them. The only reason why it's not a five star is. I wish they would have did a better job at cleaning up after putting the post in. Majority of the dirt that they pulled out they just threw in the yard and I have two golden retrievers who track mud in the house now because they threw all the mud across the yard instead of just putting it in one area or putting it on the other side of the fence near the retaining wall, so now I have to go out and fix all the posts area because now the grass is dead with the concrete powder, all around the area and mud read more

The workmanship and materials are cheap and not correct for the size and weight. You would be better off to do it yourself. Unprofessional since the moment I put my non refundable deposit. Not only was my order very delayed it was also just dropped off on my lawn. This big heavy pallet just sitting on my new sod. Not even the worst part. I'm in a new construction and my property line is marked by metal pins. I also gave them my land survey. I got my survey read wrong and they didn't even check for the markers. My HOA contacted me letting my know I was over my neighbors property by a few feet. What does sunrise say? "We put the fence where you tell us to." I didn't tell them anything. I trusted they were a professional company that checks for the property line and goes off of my land survey. I should have known because the first one they did was taking .5 feet from me on both sides which I had them fix but I didn't know it was too far back. Now I'm responsible for the cost of them fixing it? Nearly $1,000 to bring my fence in a few feet. At least the other companies that I got quotes from come out with metal detectors to find the property line. Stay away from this company. From beginning to end it has been a headache and extremely unprofessional. They won't even right their wrongs. I'd rather give another fence company my money to fix their mistake. Sunrise Fence - This is what I got after 2 weeks of sending emails - Fences & Gates Near Me - Monroe, North Carolina

We contracted with Sunrise Fence to install 225' of aluminum fence in our backyard. The price for the 225' was $6,900 and that included three gates. On a per foot basis, that is just over $30 a foot. Unfortunately, because of a misunderstanding with a neighbor. the fence could not be installed as originally planned. When all was said and done, we needed an additional 20' of fence. On the day the 225' was installed (May 23), I talked with the office at Sunrise and asked them to send an estimate for the rest. When I returned from a trip on June 9, no estimate had arrived. I sent an email at that point and they finally sent a bid. The bid for 20 additional feet of fencing was $2,200 or about $110 per foot. I called to see if there had been a mistake and was told the bid was correct. Either they did not want to bother installing a mere 20' of fence or the bid was an attempt to take advantage of our situation. Or both. It all seemed a bit predatory to us--and perhaps as seniors the attempted extortion seemed particularly galling. We found another company to finish the job for less than half of the $2,200. and I would not recommend doing business with Sunrise Fence. read more

This company is wonderful in the beginning. They quote you a quick, fair price. They will even submit your HOA approval for you. They were very kind in the beginning. Fast forward to after installation and money collection... It is difficult to get someone on the phone/email to send someone out to make any repairs. They do not take accountability and when they do ever send someone out it takes months. I had a fence installed a year and a half ago. One of my double gates never latched properly and would swing open with a gust of wind. My dogs were getting out constantly. They came out to "fix" our gate several times. Each gentleman that came out had very few materials with them and all told me that the gates were originally installed improperly. They could not actually fix it because the "office" would not give them the materials and the "okay" to fix. Now we cannot even open the gate because one side has fallen off of the hinges. I have reached out multiple times and they just don't reply to me now. I am stuck with a gate that I cannot even use. Buyer beware! I wish I would have checked out the BBB complaints prior to paying this company and seen several cases similar to my own. So disappointing! read more

They overcharged us and refused to refund us for fencing they didn't install. Their work is inferior as our posts were loose and all we heard from them was it will take time for the cement to cure. Well, that is if they used any cement on the posts. I got tired of hearing their excuses and added cement to all the loose posts myself. There was absolutely no cement used on the posts on both sides of the gate along with a handful of other posts. I would never use this company again and highly recommended finding another company. My experience with Sunrise Fencing could not have been much worse. The highlights of my awful experience are: -Almost 2 months to get an estimate (this should have been my first red flag...) -Charging me for the full price before the agreed upon date. They said they'd refund and charge at the correct time, but they never did this. The original charge stayed. -Not showing up on the scheduled date and ZERO proactive communication. In fact, it wasn't until I called when they were 3 hours late that they told me they'd get to me... "soon". -Office staff extremely rude any time I challenged the fact that they weren't meeting the promises they'd made. -Company lied about the installers. I was told they were Sunrise employees, but they arrived in a truck with another company's name on it. I asked the installers and they told me they "pick up jobs from sunrise and others." This wouldn't have been an issue if Sunrise had been honest about it. -Installers smoked like chimneys and left cigarette butts all over my property -Installers showed up without hardware for the gates and had to come back another day to finish them, leaving my yard wide open -Gates were then installed incorrectly and the company took SEVEN WEEKS to come do a 15 minute repair. During this time they REFUSED to tell me when they would come and kept saying "be patient, we will get to you." They never even told me they were coming to fix it, they just showed up unannounced and opened our gates to fix. This could have been a major issue if my child or large dog had been in the yard... In summary, go with another company. My neighbors had a great experience with them a few years ago, but they have clearly gone down hill in the last few years. read more

Sunrise has been a terrible company to work with! They do not communicate with customers efficiently, or honor the commitments they have made/received payment for. We signed a contract in September for them to complete our fence. We needed a secure perimeter for our dogs. I was very clear that if they were not able to provide that, then I did not want to move forward, since this was our only reason for getting a fence. In early/mid February, they came and installed part of our fence and indicated that the estimator created a plan that wasn't workable on the site, so they couldn't finish the job that day. This is despite being charged for the remainder of our project several days before completion. Their policy states that the balance will be charged on installation day, which is not correct. They sent out the estimator a few weeks later, and he priced out the plan described by the installer. I was told it would be either the next week or the following week when our project would be finished. And then...we didn't hear from them for 2 weeks. I reached out, and they told us that the rain had delayed projects and we were on the list and would be contacted soon. Again, we didn't hear from them for over a month, despite continually requesting an update. Finally I wrote them a strongly worded email about our frustrations with their lack of communication, nearly 2 months of waiting for 20 feet of fencing to be completed, and watching my neighbor's fence be installed ahead of ours (I recommended the company to them--HUGE MISTAKE!), and was told that the installer's truck had broken down in February (again, now we are in April and this is the first we are hearing of this) but that the truck was now fixed and we would be getting our fence soon. Their excuse was that they assumed that we would want the same installer since we "had extensive conversations with him about our project." I spoke to him for less than 3 minutes. We were told our project was sent to a manager who would call by the end of day with an installation date for us. We didn't hear back, despite numerous requests and a telephone call to speak with a manager. No one returned our calls. It is now early-mid May and we have still heard nothing. We have spent over $2000 with them, have referred 2 other clients to them, and we still only have half a fence. They are a shell who pays contractors who are not affiliated with the company to complete projects. So, as in our case, if your contractor's truck breaks down, Sunrise does NOTHING to fix it. This is one of the most poorly run companies I have ever worked with. Their lack of respect for customers is appalling, and their communication skills are beyond unprofessional. read more

We waited over 8 months for a spot on their schedule. They were not super clear on how the process would go. They showed up at about 4 pm (in December) to tear down and install posts and then about the same time the next day to install. One of them bumped pool equipment which is close to the fence line, which caused water to drain and could have burned up the pump if I hadn't noticed. The quality of the fencing material is horrible. Nails coming out the other side in many places. The top of fence is already loose. The extra charge for a self closing gate was a waste as you have to lift up on the gate to even get it to close. Do yourself a favor and find a real professional. Make sure you know *who* will actually do the installation and that you have direct contact with someone who can address any issues that arise. Sunrise was an awful company to work with. The only part of the process that was easy was completing the sale. That, and processing our payment (the day before the installation even started!), was the last time they showed up on time or executed something correctly. Installation process was poorly executed - from mediocre workmanship to a slow installation, delayed in part due to a lack of properly including the correct supplies for the project. Installer was polite, but clearly not experienced nor thoughtful about his work or the impact to our home environment. They didn't show up when they said they would and communication throughout was very poor. Calls to the corporate office were met with clueless responses because, it turns out, our installer was a contract who was doing his own thing and only loosely affiliated with the company we actually paid to do the work. We followed up with the company directly on specific concerns and got an "oh, well" response that tried to be somewhat empathetic but ultimately never offered to correct the issues. However, we understand that sometimes things go sideways and are handled poorly for different reasons, and certainly don't want to diminish the reputation of a growing small business because we believe that the owner probably cares at some level but is simply inexperienced at managing these issues. It's been ~3 months since installation and now the freshly installed gate is sagging. We can clearly see it's sagging because the gate was attached to an old post, while we specifically requested, and expected, it to be installed on fresh wood. We contacted Sunrise today to report the sag and asked them to correct it, and got a response that was completely dismissive. We're 100% done with Sunrise and would never contact them for anything. If this is the best fencing company around, we'll learn to do it ourselves next time. EDIT: Sunrise contacted us and offered to look at the sagging gate. ***BEWARE*** ***SCAMMERS*** DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE! Once I paid Sunrise fence nonrefundable deposit, this company became very UNPROFESSIONAL. I waited months to have my fence installed and the day of installation the fence was INCOMPLETE. While speaking with their 3rd party installers, I noticed that us contracts were different. So, I IMMEDIALTY contacted Sunrise Fence and was advised that William would return my call to assist me with my dispute. The installers left because of course they didn't have the wood, so my fence wasn't enclosed. I called daily for about 2 weeks until I was able to reach William. He stated, to install the enclosure would be an additional $200. My ORGINAL CONTRACT shows the pricing and work that I wanted done. This is when I realize that Sunrise Fence was trying to scam me. Sunrise Fence has 4 different contracts to perform one basic job. Days later, I decided to go ahead and pay the $200 so that my dog could enjoy the outdoors of his own backyard. Once I called back and spoke to Susan, the price went from $1300 to $750 to install a 13-inch enclosure. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Susan provided me with the WORST Customer Service I've ever experienced. I requested to speak with the owner and getting Susan to give me the owners names was like pulling teeth. Soon after, I began making daily calls again to Sunrise Fence to speak with Samantha S. (owner). About a week of calls, Susan stated that I would have to go through her, and the price was the price. That I needed to reach out to other contractors to resolve my fencing issues. Also, that I wouldn't be able to reach Samantha S. because her email doesn't work and Samantha Smith doesn't has no set schedule to return my calls. I had my fence installed around 6 months ago. I recently requested to have my latch flipped so if i locked the gate you would not see it from the street. Sunrise Fence refuses to come out and make the change. They made the change for my neighbors. And i noticed on their website you can request gate/latch realignment for free. They will not honor what they advertise. During the actual install there were hiccups along the way regarding communication that overall made this process not pleasant. I wrote a Facebook review and they DELETED IT! They will not return my phone calls. I would not recommend this company! The first group was definitely my favorite but they others have been fine. They've got pictures of most their work on their Facebook page. Be careful and do your homework when dealing with this company. Check out the complaints on BBB site. Their installers hit my in ground irrigation lines on three consecutive locations and never informed me about it. They just covered it up and kept installing. Found out a year later after turning on our irrigation system to flush the system. At first they refused to take responsibility but after I told them I was going to post negative reviews they offered $150. Said it was mailed out. Week goes by, no check...i call back to inquire and have a guy tell me that I have called the wrong number and they were a different company. When I call him out on it he hung up on me. I called back and it goes to voice mail...voice mail recording says, "Thank you for calling Sunrise Fence..." I finally get in touch with someone that now tells me they are going to send out a check for $200, mind you I have never received the $150 check promised. I put up a negative review on their FB page and someone else put up a negative review right after I did. Sunrise removed the posts (I have screen shots of them) and has since blocked me from posting reviews on their site. I wouldn't trust them. My splitrail fence has bows in some railings and I'm not sure they used treated wood on my gates as they look older than the fence which is only 3 yrs old. *** This is a review of the management and the company*** 1) The Receptionist, Sandy, is really friendly and helpful when you are seeking to get a quote and they get your card. You do not get an installation date until AFTER you pay a deposit which is nonrefundable. I had to wait 3 months. Plus, they will not call to let you know the date from of your initial invoice installation has changed. I went from July 27 to August 8. Also, it will change if it rains. My installation was pushed back twice. 2) Day of installment, the workers realized William, who came out to do the measurements, did it incorrectly. His measurements cut off 8 ft on one side. I called the office and they said I would have to pay the difference of the extra feet. I went ahead and paid it so that I could get it done, but requested to speak with the manager. 3) I had 2 gates installed. One gate has the correct lock. The other gate has a lock that I can't lock on the inside, but would have to go around through my neighbors yard to lock. Makes no sense. I asked the installers if they had another lock like the one on the front gate on their truck, they said no, someone would have to come back. I called the office again to see if I can get someone out soon, Sandy said they do not reinstall locks. 4) I cannot attest to the installation of the fence. Hopefully it is solid. 5) I have called the office 3 times to speak with a manager. I was told that I would get a call back. Called back the following week and left a message. As of today, still no call back. Please do your homework as the other reviewers advised They may beat out your other quotes, but you get what you pay for. They did a great job putting up the fence in two days. They did throw the old fence on top of a sign in our yard by not paying attention but we were happy with the fence. We however were not happy with the cheap hinges they used on the gate. The weight of the door is pulling on the fence and bent the top hinge. They are ridiculously overpriced and they kept pushing back our service date. We were stuck with this company because the people we purchased our home from hired them as part of our sale. The installers did a shoddy job, left their trash everywhere, and left nails in our driveway. There is a huge gap underneath the fence to the point that our neighbor's dog can get his head underneath of it. Our dog is not dog friendly (hence the fence) and this creates a dangerous scenario. When I contacted the company, they told me that the gap isn't covered under warranty, and their installers do "their best". This is a pathetic excuse for their best. They are refusing to fix the issue, but it is able to be fixed if we're willing to pay for it. They are absolute trash. Stay as far away from this company as humanly possible. read more

Sunrise put my fence up (which looked good), but they hit an irrigation line with a fence post and never told me about it. Account rep never asked about irrigation when providing the quote and since it is my first house with sprinklers, it never crossed my mind. When I called the office to ask about it, I was told it was my fault for not reading the contract. Not A RELIABLE COMPANY!! They installed fence out of my property line. Survey was provided to them multiple times and was assured everything would be handled. 4 months later found out from Shea homes, who own the lot behind mine, that the fence is encroaching on their lot. Reached out to Sunrise and they flat out denied the claim that I made. Even made mention that they never received my survey nor do they install fences according to surveys. This makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE that a fencing company would not adhere to a survey. Long story short, They kept denying my claim and said that they would charge me if they were to comeback out and the issue was my fault and not theirs. Once I sent my proof that I did in fact send them my survey, I asked to speak to a manger but was told that management would not speak to me nor should I call back as no one will be able to assist. They instructed me to only email them which again is a red flag because they have stopped replying to my emails. Now I am in a situation where I had to hire an attorney to get this resolved as well as find another fencing company who is willing to move the fence for me. My review of Sunrise Fencing company is that they get ZERO out of 5 stars. You would think with all the madness going on in the world that they would be more empathic and stand by their work but they won't. In the beginning, this company was fine. They got 4 houses in a row, on my street, all at once. You'd think they'd be appreciative of that. We were the last house and when we got our estimate, "the price of aluminum had gone up" so ours was more expensive than the other neighbors....WHAT?? Ok fine. So when they came to install, they were short on materials and had to get more, so that delayed everything. We also ordered 2 extra 6x6 posts, JUST LIKE what our neighbors had installed. We were never notified that they don't make 6x6 anymore so when it came time to install those they didn't have them. So, we ordered 4x4, waited another 5 weeks. They finally showed up to install the 4x4, which is what we were invoiced for and they come to the house with 3x3 and said they don't make 4x4 posts!!!! Are you kidding me?? My husband called to complain and the owner LAUGHED at him. There are a few other things that happened during this whole ordeal but I think I got my point across. WORST COMPANY EVER.
