Spectacular doesn't even come close to a description of Sunrise Lodge. This is not your typical fishing cottage. Well appointed, super comfortable and first class all the way. It's the only place I stay when in the area. Mike and Jeannette are super hosts and are simply great people! Mike was very accomodating and very kind to us. He invited us back and I honestly hope to take him up on the offer. The weekend was worth every penny and none of us had a single complaint. I wasn't able to be there at check in, but the owner met my wife, mother in law, and Granny at the door and took excelent care of them. I didn't get to meet him in person untill check out when he came over to visit with us. He was a generous and pleasant host. The view was great. There were some pretty spectacular sunrises during our stay. The decorations were amazing. My family was in awe and took hundreds of pictures. I can't imagine a more perfect accomodation for our weekend trip. The beds were comfortable, the house was spotless. Everything was in excelent condition. We cooked our own meals in the fully equipped kitchen because we had brought plenty of our own food, but next time we may visit one of the several nearby restaurants. My relatives who live in the area assure me they are all quite good. The wifi was a little slow, but I suspect that no one is renting this place to surf the net. When I needed it it was there and fast enough to check my email. We didn't use the grill or the fire pit because of the whether, but if you're considering this place think about bringing some firewood or some charcoal! I can't praise the place highly enough. Spent four days at Sunrise Lodge on Lake Fort last week. Cabin was great and the guys enjoyed fishing. Met and visited with family and enjoyed the big deck.Mike, the owner, was great and very friendly. Look forward to returning and will certainly recommend. read more

Spent memorial weekend here! Had the best time! The lodge was awesome and had everything you needed, it was a home away from home. The owner was very nice and super accommodating! The lake was a lot of fun. We had a bass boat and a fishing kayak with us, the husbands caught quite a bit of fish. We will definitely be coming back!! read more

Sunrise Lodge on Lake Fork - DISHONEST, Bait and Switch Sales Tactics, Terrible Experience. This 1 star review could have been easily avoided! After looking at the Sunrise Lodge on Lake Fork website I decided to give them a call, Mike picked up and we had a good conversation he told me how they have been around since 2016 and how they had 73 5 star reviews on Google and how they had the nicest rooms in all of Lake Fork. Mike told me all about the two lodges and how Sunrise Lodge 1 looked like a mini bass pro shops. I asked him about availability and told him I only needed it for 1 night (Friday) because we were participating in the bass on the fly tournament and he said "I had no idea the tournament was that weekend but you're going to love the location since it's only like a 3 minute walk to where the tournament is held but we do not have any of them booked up at this point" Mike told me they have a 3 night minimum stay (website says 2) so I said "the website says there is a two night minimum but I was curious if you had availability for just Friday night" Mike said, "well, since nothing is booked yet I could make an exception for Sunrise Lodge 1, I cannot let you have Sunrise Lodge 2 but you can have the smaller one for Friday night for $400.00" I told him perfect, let me let my group of 3 people know - what is the best way to book? He said online, well there is no booking online just a contact form on the website "/reserve" but it doesn't let you actually book, it's more of a inquiry. **This is where the terrible experience at Sunrise Lodge on Lake Fork begins.** I called Mike back, and said I was ready to book but the website wouldn't allow me to but I told him I could book over the phone right now. He then told me there is a two night minimum and there would be no exceptions. No problem, maybe he forgot we had just spoken an hour or so earlier in the day. I let him know - you had told me you could make an exception for the night for $400.00 and he then told me he never said that, then I questioned him on our conversation and he said "you misunderstood what I was saying" and finally he told me I was remembering wrong. I repeated our whole conversation back to him and then he said "we are done here" and hung up the phone. I am disappointed to learn that Sunrise Lodge on Lake Fork is operated by dishonest people. In reality, I am assuming Mike wasn't aware there was a fly fishing tournament happening that weekend (because he told me he wasn't) so when I informed him - he decided he would try and scam me and get me to commit to a 3 night minimum commitment. Once he realized that was not going to happen, he offered me the exception for $400.00 which I gladly accepted but he sent me to the website because he knew I could not book there. Once I called him back (within the hour) he decided he did not want to offer the 1 night exception and instead hold out for a 3 night minimum so he could make more money. (understandably so it is a business) If Mike had just been honest and upfront and told me, "hey, I wasn't aware this was a tournament weekend and I think I can get more money so we are gonna hold out" - this review would have been different. Mike could also have just honored the original agreement he gave me and let us have the sunrise lodge 1 for the one night for $400 he originally offered. This review would not have happened. Instead, he made it very clear that Sunrise Lodge on Lake Fork Reviews are misleading and they do not care about their customer experience. In my experience it was a bait and switch snake oil like sales pitch. They belittled me saying I wasn't remembering correctly and that clearly I was mistaken when I have other people who can verify what Mike and I discussed (speaker phone). This cabin is appropriately named! Sunrises on the back deck were phenomenal. The house had everything we needed for a great weekend on the lake. Mike was so welcoming and gave us a great tour. All of the historical and natural memorabilia were beautifully done and led to a lot of great conversations for our group. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful Lake Fork getaway. read more

Honestly this place is terrible. The owner lives directly across the street and will watch every move you make and threaten to keep your deposit over the smallest thing. If you want to do anything other than breathe and sleep, I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE. Use your money else where and stay at a home where you can enjoy your stay and not be watched like a child!!!!! When you've done something other than what he expects he will be in the front yard before you can blink, questioning you! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! Pictures are also deceiving! You CANNOT see the lake from the back porch! You have a pond you can look at that is only catch and release, and that's IF you catch something! The boat launch is terrible and almost unusable, but the ad claims you have a private boat launch! WRONG, you must go to the marina and pay a fee to launch your boat if you want to safely! We paid for 5 days and I'm on day 2 and I would have rather stayed home than delt with the owner!! NOT FIVE STARS. read more
