Like I get offered times for next week (does the bracket just hang there for a week?). And forget trying to get an appointment during non-school hours. Also, they give advice like "you should take nail clippers and cut poke-y wires yourself." Are you kidding me?!? Why am I paying for orthodontic care if I'm trying to jam a nail clipper into my kid's mouth?! Unreal. Maybe choose this practice if you're only doing Invisalign? I'm not sure they were the right choice for us, given all of this, and we've heard of other families making different decisions based on easier before/after school office hours. Just wanted to share for those still making decisions.

I am a senior who has managed to get by with quite crooked teeth despite having worn braces in my teens. I always wanted straight teeth, but wasn't willing to wear braces for years as an adult. Somehow, I heard about Dr. Tisseront and went for an eval.. I learned that I could have "lingual" braces on the top (which don't show) and would only have to wear the braces for 12-18 months. So i signed up. And here I am, 16 months later, with straight teeth! It seems that Dr T. is able to do some things that many other orthodontists are. not. I had called around 6 months ago to schedule a consultation for my 9 year old who will definitely need braces. Our appointment was scheduled at 9:45, so trying to be courteous of the fact that he was a new patient and needed time to fill out paperwork, we arrived early. Apparently with this office you have to wait outside and then they will call you in. After it was past his appointment time I called their office. The woman who answered the phone stated that they made a mistake and "texted the wrong patient." So the text they sent us was not for us and I guess we didn't have an appointment that day . The text specifically said my sons name and the fact that this wasn't caught ahead of time was disappointing. The worst part about the whole visit was the woman who works at the front desk, she was awful. One issue is they either need to change the batteries in their thermometer or buy a new one. She came out of the office and while we were talking about what can be done since we are already there, she took my temperature and told me I was running a fever of 102 and "needed to calm down for a minute ". This was not only false but not at all appropriate to say to a patient. She then ran back in the office and came back out and took my temperature and said okay it looks like you calmed down and told me my temp was 94.6 which I don't think she realized is also inaccurate. She kept referring to me by my first name without even asking if it's okay. She kept putting an emphasis on my first name like I was a child being scolded. Super disrespectful. She mentioned that they didn't take our insurance which would have been nice to know ahead of our visit . I think with ortho it's pretty typical to pay some amount out of pocket but she didn't even talk about that option with us . I do see why patients like this practice though. It is very clean and updated on the inside and Dr Kim was extremely nice and had great bedside manner. Their assistant was also very nice. We have chosen another practice that also does not accept our insurance but the difference is that their customer service is fantastic.
