I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The communication at this office is awful. They've been "working on" my insurance claims for a year, yet nothing has ever been reflected on my account. Now, suddenly, there's an "issue" and they need to redo it? Interesting--guess my bank account must be having issues too. All they care about is money. I purchased their so-called "lifetime retainer package," only to be told later that I can't even use it for a year. Who in their right mind would spend thousands of dollars on something they can't use immediately? Why wasn't I told that up front? Total scam logic. At this point, they can cancel my contract because I will be getting my retainers elsewhere. I never want to be associated with this greedy, misleading company again. And one more thing: those glowing Google reviews? Don't be fooled--they're clearly incentivized. This business does not care about patients, only profits. read more

The dentists there are all very nice and make it comfortable for kids, but the owner of this business seems to only care about the money coming in! My son has been in braces for almost 8 years and all the orthodontists that we see there have different opinions on if he has teeth or more of a skull issue. I have been trying to get Dr. Casagrande to call me back to discuss for weeks now but it seems he is doing promotional work for his invisalign moneymaker and has no care for his patients! For how they market themselves as a premier Invisalign provider, I'm extremely disappointed with my experience and regret choosing them as a provider. This was been the biggest waste of $7,000. My teeth looked better before. The service is passable, but not for the prices that they're charging. I highly recommend you get quotes from multiple providers and explore other options (e.g., braces) before going with this practice. I wish I had. Initial Consultation - For some background, my teeth were in great condition, straightness wise, before I started treatment. They were objectively better than they are now. Whiter, straighter, with a more natural bite/smile. Any ethical orthodontist would have advised me not to get anything done since I had already had braces as a child and my teeth were in a great condition aside from some slight crowding on one side that was not visible to laymen eyes. Inconsistent Orthodontists - I was recommended Dr. Casagrande by an Invisalign store. I'm the type of person that likes to work with just one doctor and was led under the impression that that would be the case. After my initial appointment, almost all my appointments with Dr. Casagrande would get canceled the week of due to other commitments. I would try to reschedule only to be told he wouldn't be available for several weeks. I ended up settling and seeing any doctor that was available, but even with them there hasn't been consistency. Some of the doctors that I once knew and was starting to trust left the practice and new ones have come and gone as well. Misleading Prices with Insurance - After my initial consultation, I had a call with one of their "insurance specialists". I explained to them that I would be switching insurances around month 3 of treatment. The so-called specialists told me that this was going to save me money because I could use the $2,000 benefit from each of the two dental insurance providers (for a total max of $4,000), thus heavily subsidizing my treatment cost. This was not the case. When I did switch, my new dental insurance company said they would not pay in addition to the $2,000 and that it was a benefit across dental insurance companies since they share information with each other (you can only get the benefit once period, not once from each different provider). You would think an insurance specialist knows this information, right? I felt downright scammed. Had I known the true price that it was going to cost, I may not have proceeded forward. Misleading Prices with Retainers - During my initial consultation, I was led to believe that the price that I was paying included retainers (it did not). Furthermore, a few months after I had started treatment I was then told that the lifetime retainers would be $1,300. By the time I actually finished my treatment, they had increased the price to $1,700! Who knows at what price it's at now. Recommendation for Masseter Botox - When I expressed a concern about the unevenness of my bite/smile, Dr. Casagrande recommended I get botox on my masseters to fix the problem. He recommended me to a specific maxillofacial surgeon and said that I should only trust said surgeon to inject botox in the masseter area since it's not standard. The doctor that he referred me to charged me $600 for our visit only to tell me that he didn't inject botox in the masseters at all and that I should consult someone else. Lesson learned not to take advice from these orthodontists, they don't know what they're talking about. Orthodontists Miss Things/Low Quality of Service - You have to be advocate for yourself when seeing these people. I thought the whole point of doing Invisalign with orthodontists, instead of dentists or SmileDirect, was that they would catch things that the Invisalign technology did not. Not the case. Two of the orthodontists missed my dental cant (when the vertical positioning of the two sides of your mouth are uneven) and the fact that the aligners were making my smile gummier (exposing more gums than were visible before). Furthermore, the Invisalign aligners created multiple dark, visible, gaps in my teeth that were not previously there. In another instance, to fix the alignment of my bite, they told me to wear rubber bands on just one side, but then that created misalignment on the opposite side. On another instance, during one of my Invisalign scans they missed one of my molars and I received 12 aligners that only had imprints for 31 out of my 32 teeth. Lastly, when I got my permanent retainers, the wire broke less than three months of having them while eating pizza (this usually takes years of wear to happen). It leads me to believe they didn't do a good job when adhering them to my teeth. Less Office Swag - The office used to be stocked with bottled JRINK juices. They don't have that anymore, whereas other providers still offer plenty of beverage and snack options. Swag is not everything, but given their high prices you would expect better. read more

I just signed up for an Invisalign treatment with NOVA Ortho and so far, it has been nothing short of wonderful. The staff at the Reston location has been unbelievably accommodating and so kind! I got a comprehensive scan, spoke to the orthodontist, and had all my financing options explained clearly to me on my first visit. After making the decision to move forward, I encountered a ton of issues with my HSA account wherein I couldn't use any of the money in my account until they sent a new card. Not wanting to push my scheduled treatment, I called and spoke to Tish at NOVA and she could not shown more excellent care. She said it was no trouble at all, pushed the due date on the down payment so that it wouldn't be automatically charged to my credit card, and explained what the next steps would be. The support I've already received on these issues alone gives me great comfort; if the rest of my care is as excellent as these two weeks have been, I'll be spending the rest of my life recommending NOVA Ortho to anyone that compliments my smile. read more

Wow, what a great office! I decided to receive an Invisalign consultation to correct shifts from non-compliant retainer use after teenage braces. Visiting the Invisalign website, I chose Dr. Casagrande using the doctor locator and highest tier level of training. The staff quickly helped me schedule a consultation after submitting an online request. When I arrived at the office, I was impressed by how modern and clean it was. The waiting room included tablets and Starbucks coffee, but I felt it catered towards teenagers with the music and atmosphere. After signing in, a staff member quickly introduced themselves and led me on an office tour, during which I was very pleased to learn there is a second waiting area for adults only. This area offers coffee as well as a juice bar! After finishing the preliminaries, another staff member took me back for pictures and x-rays. Throughout the entire process, I never encountered a face that wasn't smiling, a staff member that wasn't extremely friendly, and lots of excellent conversation and compliments. Dr. Casagrande continued the excellent service framework laid by his staff. He thoroughly explained my individualized Invisalign plan based on my photos and proceeded with a physical exam as well. I decided to move forward with treatment and continued to receive excellent service as my scans were taken. Another plus for the office is in house interest free financing! I don't have dental insurance, and they offer four ways to help you pay. I highly recommend Dr. Casagrande and his team for anyone needing or wanting orthodontics. read more

It has been 4 months into the treatment and the only time i met this doctor was during the first free consultation. I have follow up questions for this doc. However, staff provided me uncertain answers. Everytime i made appointment, i confirmed with the staff that Dr. Casagrande will be present. However, he has never showed up even after a staff caused trouble to my teeth (i intentionally waited almost a week just to see this doc). Can i file a complaint? Of course! However, i have signed a contract and agreed upon to receive service from staff and other doctors. Why did i sign it? Cus i have never thought that this doc would never showed up again after i signed the contract. Therefore, Dr. Casagrande appeared to be a marketing object to attract customers. Yes, the office interior design is stunning, looks all modernized, and the office even provides menu that offers you drinks and/or snacks. However, these are only the icing on the cake. What we, the patients, need is the advice from the doctor we chose. We dont need the doc to show up on every single appointment as we all understand that we are not the only patient of his. However, he gotta show up when we need his advice and help. My advice to you is not to sign contact with Dr. Casagrande unless you absolutely do not care who provides treatment to you or your love ones. read more

I found the communication amongst office employees and correspondence between patient (parent) and office to be extremely poor. My quest to have my insurance filed was made in February/March. I was NOT notified when there were issues with the claim (the issue was that they had filed with the wrong insurance company) it was completely by my persistence that I found out there was a problem. I had to continue to call and check back, and insist on the refilling. It finally got completed and the end of May. At which point, and after having paid more than our share of the balance, I asked that the payment draft be stopped. It was not. I called to have it refunded, it was charged again, the same day. Almost a thousand dollars unauthorized taken out of my checking account in one day. So I called back and received an apology and explanation that I would have my refund in 3-5 business days. Not to mention when the pandemic began, we were asked to not bring unnecessary guests to an appointment, as they were trying to socially distance patients, only to get to my daughters appointment, following their rules, to find their waiting room FULL of people-patients, parents, and siblings. Standing room only. Their scheduling and office enforcement did not reflect their requests. I'm a very understanding person-mistakes happen, but my experience with this practice has been a struggle from start to finish. I guess what I would say is-if you have plenty of time to follow up with their office staff, and extra money on hand-make your appointment now! read more

I'd like to post some information about Dr Sharon Wang in this practice. She might look good on paper, but she was very rude to her patients and did not care about the actual situation. She claimed something obviously different from the fact carelessly and mentioned that the patients do not have to see her next time. She didn't apologize either. I've never seen a doctor like this in the Us and feel sorry that there is a doctor like her. I'd recommend that patients can see other doctors in this practice. read more

My daughters teeth look great! However, the whole experience was overshadowed by a complete lack of attention to billing. They gave one shot at running our insurance, apparently couldn't figure it out...and they were just as satisfied taking our cash. We had to repeatedly call to tell them to actually run the insurance claim. 6+ months of that. Once the claim was approved, we were several hundred overpaid and we were told no further charges would be taken out of our account. Well that didn't happen...shocker. So we called again and were promised an immediate refund. They immediately hit our bank account AGAIN for the same amount. ~$600 total. "Which...oops. Will take about five business days to get back to you." Can I send you a bill for having to hold your billing department's hand? Amateur hour. read more

The team was extremely friendly and kind. I am 8 months into treatment and was worried that the pandemic would stall my treatment. I showed up to their Reston office and they told me the dentist is not there. They told me that another dentist will see me. I was ok with it. I started at his Ashburn location which was very far from home (McLean) but now I'm going to his Reston location which is convenient. Ashburn office is AMAZING! I really loved their Starbucks station which had their own barista- definitely 5 star service. Unfortunately Reston doesn't have this ! Both Reston and Ashburn staff are amazing! I have been a patient at the Reston office of NoVa Orthodontics since Feb 2019. On 20 May 2020, I was scheduled for an office visit. We are still in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, with some easing of restrictions, but I was appalled at what I witnessed during the visit. Several of the staff were not wearing face masks, the office was crowded, and social distancing was not being practiced. While this was disturbing, the most upsetting event I witnessed was a "tour" by the owners of Invisalign. Five gentlemen, not wearing face masks or practicing social distancing, toured the facility full of patients. They received a briefing in an open area just outside active patient treatment rooms, with doors open. I was shocked by the total lack of regard for the safety of the patients that this behavior represented. I did not stay for the procedure that I needed, but picked up additional aligners and left the office as quickly as possible. After spending quite a bit for my treatment plan, I will be curtailing my treatments as soon as feasible. I highly recommend that you consider your personal safety and the protection of your family before you decide to use this orthodontics practice. Proper behavior of staff comes from the top, and it appears that patient safety is not a top priority. read more

Just to be clear, my 5 Star review is one of Dr Casagrande's employee named Casey. She is outstanding! My son is a relatively new patient (5 months) and he has only seen Dr Casagrande one time. We made several attempts to see Dr C. during the 2.5 months my son was home from VT, to no avail. My son was able to see a staff member, but not Dr. C. Since we have been connected with Casey, the process has become much easier. She was able to schedule an appointment with the doctor that also meets my sons ability to be in the Reston area. She has also contacted me regularly to make sure my son is progressing with his trays and cleaning them properly. She is professional, upbeat and always willing to answer my many questions. She seems to have a genuine interest in the success of my sons Invisalign treatment. I would highly recommend Casey and Dr. Casagrande for all your Invisalign needs.
