My infant attends this facility and we love it. The staff is friendly and we like the care givers. I'd give it 5 stars if it was in a better neighborhood. I checked the inspection records for the all centers we were considering and sunrise was the best in that regard. Pros: Great staff Lovely, bright room They make sure they get lots of tummy time They provide food and formula (you make bottles) They give a thorough report at the end of the day, including tips to help such as how to get through teething They have a storage room for car seats Cons: Near a not so great neighborhood. Caregiver/child ratio could be better. Usually 4 to 1 but I've seen it at 5 to 1 in the infant room. Similar to most centers but of course I'd prefer lower. read more

My child attended the Sunrise Preschool on 2122 W Indian School Rd from age 3 months until 20months old. The staff at this school was great. The daycare uses an SPS app which the staff uses to update caregivers on their children's activities, diaper changes, foods offered, and if any supplies are needed. The app is also used to provide photos of your child during play. The location was secure with outside doors being locked and inaccessible unless buzzed in by the staff or through a specific code given to each caregiver. My child enjoyed going to class and the staff fostered learning and social development skills. I would highly recommend this daycare/preschool. read more

This was a long time coming. Would rate -000000 to pits of hell if I could. The director Joann is very unprofessional, rude and vindictive. She will take her anger out about the kids on the parents. Beatrix and Jessica are her co-signing minions who are just as bad. Tony also is questionable with her being physical towards the kids and they SHOULD ALL be investigated. We have been with them for over three years before any issues started. They will lie cheat steal if they have to save themselves. It was at the point of them getting us kicked out and refusing to work with my daughter at all. We had plenty of open communication (or so I thought) about my child's behavior and how to handle it head on but was blindsided by CPS which was comical because they saw nothing wrong and there was no wrong with our household to take her away LOL. I am livid. For the past 8 months my 2 year old has been attending Sunrise Preschool and for the past 8 months she has been getting bitten almost monthly. There was a point in time a few months ago where she was getting bitten at least once a month every other month by the same kid in her class. The school will not tell me who this other kid is, I don't know if they have told the other childs parents, they won't give me any information, but after today i am LIVID. My child was bitten 3 times in one day at the Sunrise Preschool on Thomas Ave in Avondale. I contacted CPS regarding this daycare center and I will be contacting police as well. read more

if I could give zero stars that's what I would do. everytime I pick up or drop off my son, the teacher is sitting on her phone or the tablet. I've gotten calls to pick up my son for either him getting hit and having an open wound or him biting and leaving a wound. if the teachers had there eyes on the one year olds like they are suppose to then the kids wouldn't be getting hurt. I don't trust this daycare. There job is to protect our children an help guide them into better choices. 1 year olds are in a phase they are learning right from wrong and they just sit there in there tablet tell they hear someone crying and then jump up confused because they don't even know what happen. Joanne is a horrible manager and talks to people rude. she runs a business but cusses and uses street language when talking to people to try building a bond an it just makes her look pathetic. I wish I can give it zero stars but I gave it 1 so parents can hear me out. I went with a friend she was dropping her son off for the first day and as we walked in all I heard was kids crying from the left and to the right of me which is not a good first impression. What got my attention was the infant room. I saw an infant boy on his back screaming at the top of his lungs and his face bright red. I was concerned. There was one teacher in there and I notice about 2 infants total. I timed her to see if she will notice the poor boy. It took about 15 mins until my gut couldn't take it anymore. I had to mention it to the front desk and so I did. What shocked me was as I mentioned it to the front office they started to argue with me. I looked puzzled "Why are you arguing with me for being a concerned mother?" her argument was that the teacher has been there for 6yrs and she leaves he granddaughter there blah blah but then she said "kids get red when they cry, you know?" I looked at her and said to myself not my 3yr old. Luckily my friend was dropping her son off in the toddlers room and he was doing fine or I would've of told her no lets go. ***Please parents, guardians for what this review is worth please call in to the daycare, make unplanned visits make sure your child is safe. read more

I absolutely LOVE Sunrise Preschool at this location. My son has special needs - is physically disabled. He attended Sunrise in both a walker and a wheelchair and the staff was simply amazing. One thing that really says a lot about this particular location is the low turnover of their teachers. Most of them have been there for a long time and the director runs a professional, tight ship. Her right hand girl, Tabitha is very caring and conscientious as are all of the teachers. They cover for each other in the classrooms, the kids are kept in line and are very well behaved. There is just a lot of order and consistency that kids need. It also says a lot about a daycare when you can trust them with your special needs child. I actually transferred my little boy to another Sunrise location only because we moved. I wish I was closer to the Osborn location because it is better. They have lower ratios. This is a great option for parents who work downtown. I can't say enough. P.S. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is in a somewhat older facility, which shouldn't really matter but does to some people. Oh and the parking situation at 5 is ugly. **Do not bring your kids here****I wish I could give negative stars. .. my daughter enrolled my 1yr old grandson and on his 1st day got bit.. not once.. not twice but 3 TIMES. now I know kids are kids but where the heck was the supervision.. 3 TIMES!!! My daughter was NOT called and notified until she called herself to check in on Him. When asked to see the footage they refused. The report is different than the account of the footage. The report states the worker seen it happen (3bites!) And the explanation from corporate states the worker went inside and left him unattended.. a 1 YEAR OLD! Some thing is not right! We will not let this go. My poor grandson has 3 bite bruises with teeth marks so he was bitten hard! Understood, it was a kid.. that happens ONCE! NOT 3TIMES. SMH****BEWARE*** read more

My son absolutely adores his teacher and I truly feel like he's being prepared for kindergarten, he comes home and talks my ear off about all the new things he's learning. My daughter and I visited this center and were very impressed with the facility, teachers, attitude and care they seemed to take. HOWEVER, in the first week, my 17 months old grandson had, Monday, a huge bite on his back ( they said they were working with the parents) Tuesday, a substantial scratch across his fore head (no explanation) Wednesday, bruises on his legs ?????? why?? Thursday, called out of work early because he was throwing up .(After a miserable night. it was, Friday and she was called out of work early again because he had PINK EYE!! During this lovely week, he developed severe eczema on his legs, probably due to contact with allergens (not clean_ He does have a peanut allergy and a dairy allergy Any one of these things can happen, and does frequently, but this was his FIRST week and they all happened in one week. I had noticed that although they say everything is cleaned every day, that the large, lovely legos were dirty enough to scrape gunk off....I realize you can't clean every toy every day, and this should have been a warning, as should have the less than clean floor, (I am sure that it is not scrubbed every day._ but it really seemed like a great place. Super programs, great teachers, training, etc., but during this week, my grandson began to have nightmares, and did not sleep well ( a few hours a night), This may have been due to just moving to a new place, or ??? I don't know, but considering the bruises he had on Wednesday, (the night he started not sleeping), I am beginning to wonder what goes on there. The programs for the older children seem wonderful, and I don't think there would be any issues, but for the little guys, they need more than 1 teacher for 7 children, and more diligence in cleaning. (they are moving to a new facility in July so perhaps cleaning is not top priority now) For some, older children, this is probably a great place, as I said, we were impressed, but for smaller children, NO WAY!!!!! read more

This place is horrible! My daughter left my granddaughter there 1 day and that was enough to see the inattentive uncaring attitude of staff in the infant room. We transfered her from another Sunrise in Tempe and didn't have a problem there. Bottles were full even though the check out paper claimed they fed her. This is a baby we are talking about. Lord knows what else happened but my granddaughter was traumatized when my daughter picked her up. My daughter had to quit after her first day at work as a result. No Income Is Worth that! read more

So I brought my baby and on the first day he gets injured due to negligent supervision. They failed to contact me when the incident occurred. This school is negligent to say the least. After weeks of my son telling me he was afraid to go to school and me writing it off as him being a kid, I finally spoke to the administration. I was told my son was only there two days a week and "not everyone will be friends". Later that night when I picked him up there was a bruise on his forehead and a cut on his chin-i asked what happened and no one knew. Ok, I mean, annoying but no big deal. Then when I was getting him into the bath I noticed a bite bruised and BROKEN THROUGH the skin. If they didn't tell me about the bite, what else was happening that I wasn't told about, that made my son so afraid of their school? I immediately sent an email-When I was finally called back by the admin I was told the video footage had likely already recorded over itself since the incident happened on Friday afternoon and records continually over itself (what is the point of even recording at that point then?). I was also told they would open an "investigation". From their investigation I was told that since he didn't cry (his skin was broken and I know my son, there's no way he didn't cry), none of the teachers were aware of this happening. Oh good so the teachers don't pay attention either; but this is likely because most of the time they are out of ratio. In my complaints I also realized I was not getting the weekly email updates, I was told it was because they didn't have my email (which I filled out in the enrollment paperwork but ok) why was this not caught? If the teacher was filling out the progress reports shouldn't she have realized she didn't have somewhere to send them? I never even got an art project or anything in the 3 months my son attended their school. Actually no, this is more of a daycare; not a school. I was offered a refund that I still haven't received - but no surprise there either. If you care about your kid being paid attention to and learning, this is not the place for you. read more

Last week I called and asked questions about the infant room. The person I spoke with forgot her name... asked me to come in for a visit. I decided to go in and they made me feel at peace with leaving my child. The teacher asked me if I wanted to let my daughter play while answering the questions. My daughter roamed the class and played with toys, she's usually very shy. We decided that this was the right school for our daughter...and so far so good! Two years ago I moved to Phoenix and knew no one. I walked into Sunrise Preschool and felt like my daughter would have an instant family. Two years later, I can tell you I was right. It's a business, so no not right off the bat are they going to give you all in the information needed to reduce their rates. But when assistance does become available, then they jump through hoops to give it to families who they know needs the help. I know, I had their assistance for 2 years. My daughter learned so much academically from them, and even more importantly, she has a sense of self that amazes me. Shelley and Tabitha, have ALWAYS shown me respect, have talked to me when I had concerns, and have given me more then they will every know. They were never rude, never condescending, and always helpful. I will FOREVER be grateful for the love, support and dedication to their kids that the whole staff shows their children. UPDATE: The teachers are amazing at this location. The Director is rude and unfriendly. She lacks communication skills and refuses to understand things from a parents perspective. My kids have been going to Sunrise since 2009 and we will now be moving centers because of her. She came in and changed policies and procedures without communicating with parents, and then gets upset when you tell her that is not how things have been. It is understandable that things change, however, there should be communication established before hand. I have never been treated so poorly by someone who is in a Director position and works in the customer service industry. I would NOT recommend anyone to enroll at this center until they make a shift in Directors. My kids have been going to Sunrise since 2009. I currently have 2 children who attend, one in the Preschool room (4 year old's) and one in the infant room. My kids are both happy and smiling when I pick them up. My son was born with a cleft lip, and has had to have extra care in his few months in the infant room. The staff was readily available and willing to learn all of the extra care that he required before he had his surgery. They go out of their way to make sure my sons needs are met, and communicate with me on a regular basis about his progress and any additional help he might need. Every person that I have worked with in the Infant room from Emanda, Roxanna, Wendy and more; have been absolutely amazing. Emanda has been in the infant room since before my 4 year old son started. I am always impressed by her and the way she truly cares for the kids. Aasha in the Preschool B room is amazing as well; she is a big kid herself! The kids love the staff at this center, as do I. Thank you Sunrise for welcoming our family, and continuing to make sure all of our needs are met on a regular basis. read more

I have been able to stay home with my daughter, but felt it was time to get her into a school setting before going to Kindergarten. She had a rough time adjusting the first couple of days but Ms. Kaleena really made a huge effort in welcoming us each morning and getting my daughter into an activity to help her get settled each day. She took great interest in what my daughter liked and did not like. My daughter came home yesterday non-stop talking about everything they did that day and she was beyond excited to go to school today. The staff here are just amazing and friendly and already feels like a family in our short time here. I was apprehensive about this type of care but I am so glad we decided to get her introduced to this type of setting. We could not be happier to have her at Sunrise! read more

My family loves Sunrise Preschool #107. We have been going there for 2 years. They have a wonderful summer program with lots of activities and field trips. My grandson especially like the bowling ones. Sunrise also takes and picks him up from school which is a huge help. i would recommend Sunrise #107 to everyone! read more

so I've been looking for a preschool for my two lil girls and when I called this place I was very disappointed, the gal that answered the phone Tabitha, was rude, I was asking her for the rates of this facility and it seemed like if she didn't want to help me, she gave me the rates and I asked her if there was any discounts available for low income families and she was like NO and thats it, I thought that by calling back and talk to the director Shelley I might get some more info, I asked her the same thing, when she answered the phone she just said, - this is shelley, she didn't ask How can I help you or nothing, I still asked her -do you have any discounts for low income families?? and she rudely answered, - I give discounts to all my families here, ooook sorry cheeeze, she was rude they didn't want to help, it seems like if you don't have money they want to treat you like s#$t, I was pissed, so disappointed, if that is how they treat us I don't want to imagine how they treat our kids, we work hard for our money and yes it is tough, but I mean you cant be like that specially if you work with kids, you have to be patient, and kind. I was very disappointed by this people, it is hard to find a facility for day care and they make it harder for us, its really hard for me to trust this people, and when you call just for some info they don't want to do their job properly. If I pay 154 dollars a week for my lil girl + another 160 dlls for my other lil girl I want them to treat them like a princesses just like they should treat everybody else, but with that attitude I don't want to pay them nothing. read more
