I recently saw their most recent production, Our American Tragedy, and my guest and I left feeling that our expectations had been surpassed on every level. Top notch acting, set design, props, costume design, storytelling, and house service. Both the writing and research were impeccable, taking a unique spin on an otherwise overdone snippet of history, it left us hungry to know more. My second visit was to see You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, put on by their small company of highly talented kids. The show was in the box theater, an all black room with theatre-style seating and an adorably set stage. Snacks and drinks were available (donations accepted), with a 15 minute intermission. I believe the show runs through the end of the month, and I can't wait to see what they put on next! Parking is easy in the complimentary surface lot adjacent to the venue. Getting seated is just as easy. Compared to other theaters in town, part of what makes ABT different is that you have the option to do the show only or to do dinner and a show. If you do the latter option, you arrive earlier. I've done show only both times but I like that you have the option here. Before or during admission, you can stop by the lobby and pick up a themed cocktail or other beverage. Always a nice touch. The venue is clean, the seats are comfortable, and the performances have been quality. I most recently saw a performance of CATS. Already looking forward to my next performance!

This was our first time at the location. I was impressed with the professionalism. I like to describe this place as "gritty" in a good way. The kids, the environment, the teachers...they all have a high level of work ethic and are serious about what they do but have a nice sense of fun balanced in their actions. They aren't afraid to work hard and work together. It was nice seeing the older kids interact and the talent level seems to be awesome! I've been here recently now for 2 shows that I would call nontraditional, but man, they were great shows, and I had such a blast. The layout of the theater is great. I was on the 1st level for one show and on the 2nd level for the 2nd one. Despite being on the 2nd level, it still gave a personal feel and kept us engaged. If you don't like heights, make sure to arrive early to get in the lower level, as once you're on the upper level, it does go shallow & up. Getting cocktails from the bar downstairs typically has a long line, but if you go upstairs, there's usually another make-shift bar to help offset it. I didn't take advantage of any parking, as I used a ride service to the venue, as I just wanted to get dropped off at the door. It's hit or miss with parking, especially if there is something going on at the arena (basketball, concert, baseball game, etc...) Looking forward to the next event.

We walked to the venue, so I have no comment about parking. However, our show was supposed to start at 9:30pm, but the earlier showing was running a little late and so we were waiting outside for quite a while before we could choose our seats. We were invited to enter the lobby area of the building to order drinks, use the restroom, and buy some merch, so that helped to pass the time. Since I paid for Row A seating (the closest to the stage aside from the VIP section), I was invited to sit anywhere in those rows- so the rows themselves were reserved, but no specific seats, so you'll still have to call dibs on your preferred spot. As a 5 ft 8 in woman, the seating felt a little tight for my liking. Most people stood up for me to get passed them, aside from one lady, and when I walked past her I was worried my hips would smack her face. Other than that, I didn't have any problem watching the performance- nobody blocked my view and I think if I sat further away, I'd still have a decent view of the stage. We had a heckler in the crowd who kept yelling obscenities as the host of the show, fortunately by the second act he was removed from the event. There was a 15 minute intermission for the show, which was a good opportunity for more drinks or a bathroom break. I recommend using the restrooms on the second floor, as they are more hidden than the first floor. I'm glad I went to this event, and I would consider returning to the Herberger Theater Center when they have any other fun events in store.

What used to be a quick 5-minute drive became a 30-minute commute each way. People often ask why we didn't switch studios, and the answer is simple: because this place is worth every single mile. When you find a studio that feels like home, you don't leave it. Watching my daughter grow here has been incredible. She has developed not only as a dancer but also as a strong, kind, and confident young woman. The Dance Project has given her a safe space to challenge herself and comfortably express who she is. The Dance Project is so much more than a dance studio--it is our chosen family. The supportive community, amazing teachers, and positive environment are truly one of a kind. This may be helpful if your child doesn't have time to draw but for any blossoming artist who spends hours of their own time sitting and drawing there isn't any value to this time at Kat's verses being at home. I'm not sure the "teacher" has any sort of special training; actually i don't think I ever even saw the teacher or had any feedback from him/her(?) in the 4 months we attended. During this time I saw no change in skill or ability from this class. He didn't particularly enjoy it either. It seemed that the front desk assistant frequently taught the class which started late and ended early regularly. My son benefited from the Young Rembrandt's program at his school more than this program and YR, for the most part, just taught him how to shade. So the bar wasn't set extremely high. This school also requires a registration fee ($60) to even try any of the classes and also requires a credit card on file which they cannot update except in person. There isn't any online account management.. They don't allow for over the phone changes and their withdrawal policy is also very strict so we ended up paying for a month we didn't want. They also sent my credit card information entire number, expiration date, ccv code, address and full name (!) in clear text VIA EMAIL unencrypted which is very very horrendous security policy for a company who requires this information be provided. They are not obviously not PCI compliant so I'd be wary of providing them this information. They aren't particularly nice or friendly either. We won't be back.
