08/03/2021 - purchased Groupon 1/2 off 1 month tanning service for my wife to try out. The owner/operator told my wife their computer was hacked in an attempt to not honor my purchase. After some discussion owner/operator approved a spray tan. My wife went back a few days later, as I purchased a 1 month service, and was told by the owner/operator she was not due any more services as she already received what she paid for. This place must not be doing very well to treat customers like this. Do not go there and do not buy their groupon deals. read more

I was EXTREMELY hesitant to come here because of the reviews,but I'm glad I did! I was going to another local salon and the bed was seriously from the 90s and was just so junky. Sensational is clean and has newer equipment. I also think it is reasonably priced (1 month level 1 for $49) The staff is fine too. While the salon is clean the customer service here is horrible. I had an appointment which was changed last minute and the girl rescheduling kept saying what was preferable for them. The owner (who does the spray tans) was still late to the rescheduled time which worked for them but not for me. She was then late by 15 minutes which made me late to another appointment I had told them about. They didnt apologize or have any interest in my schedule. Apparently, the owner had vacation in a few days and had better things to do than to be at an appointment on time. Even when she arrived she could care less that i was there and was extremely rude to me. Not once did anyone apologize to me for the major inconvenience. Because the spray tan was rushed i now have a poor quality, inconsistant spray tan. read more

Yesterday was my first time at this tanning salon and I had the worst experience, would not recommend coming here. As a new customer, I asked the lady behind the register about the equipment. She did not seem have a clue about the wattage or anything. I was not offered a tour of the salon or even shown how to use or even turn on the bed as a new customer lol. So, I just purchased a single visit to the highest level lay down bed that was around $30 after taxes. When I asked if there was a way to turn off the facial lamps on the bed her response was that she didn't know. However, I saw that there are some buttons to adjust the facial lamps, fan and music level underneath the facial lamps. When I turned the bed on, the first thing I noticed before I got in is the 5 different bulbs/lamps that were out. When I got in I noticed that the top canopy of the bed was filthy covered with finger prints and tanning lotion... Also it was cool, not hot at all and this is with the fans turned down low. When I finished my tanning session I noticed that I had gotten no color what so ever, I had a bracelet on and there was no tan line. On my way out I politely notified the lady at the desk that there were 5 bulbs out and her response was that they did that on purpose because the bed got too hot... The bed did not seem "hot" to me at all. Also let her know about the dirty canopy, lack of tan and her response was that I'll see the color the next day. What great customer service! Honestly was not surprised that I got absolutely no color the next day. Save your money and don't go tanning this salon that has outdated equipment and doesn't bother even changing the bulbs... The mystic spray tan machine is over 15 years old here and the owner never even orders solution for it! What a joke of a Spray Tan machine. *Warning* Do not use Mystic unless you want to turn out orange! Get with the time and invest in a Norvel Spray Tan Machine. P.S for those who are wondering about the equipment. Walking to the bathroom I got a look at the beds and they all looked like they were outdated older models, at least 10 years old... read more

My tanning salon of choice is Wicked Tans in Medway. I usually tan year-round, their unlimited session package is $19.95/month, with some "upgrades" on stronger beds. This is typical in most salons. I haven't tanned since last August, and with an upcoming trip to Texas (Monday) I wanted to leave with. *little* bit of color, so decided on a Mystic Tan (sprayed on, in and out in 30 seconds, color in 24 hours, and lasts a week or so...) A single Mystic visit can run up to $35 or so, but I came across a coupon in my local paper for. $10 Mystic Tan for first tome customers at Sunsational. Woo Hoo!! The salon is small, but very nicely decorated, pretty, and very clean. It has 3 stand up booths, and 4 beds (maybe 5) one bed each for levels 1-4. They also have the Mystic booth (duh). The girl behind the desk was very nice when I came in w/ the coupon. Honestly, I felt almost "cheap" in a way. She gave me a tour, showed me the equipment, etc, and of course try to sell me on a package, but wasn't high-pressure at all. I didn't feel uneasy or anything, and would consider a package, only if they were a little less expensive. The tanning packages run from $50-$100+ per month, plus extra $$ for using stronger beds. The beds are brand new, state of the art, etc. but just too much for me. They did have a nice line of professional, indoor tanning lotions, but I'm sure they were very expensive. They do run monthly specials, like buy a month unlimited, and they'll throw in a free week of tanning. Definitely worth checking out...! read more

Run far away from this poorly managed tanning salon. They never open on time and close early. Very unprofessional business owner and overpriced products/services. They treat their business more like a hobby than a business and it's obvious in the reviews posted. I visited once and wasted my money. Never again!! I hadn't been indoor tanning in almost 3-4 years and when I moved to Milford I had no clue on where to go or where the best salon was. I had been talking about tanning And how I missed it and randomly my fiancé came home with a tanning package for me at sunsational tanning ! I was a little skepitical because I like to research different places before I make decisions on where to go. Lets just say, my month of level 3 is about to be up and I can't wait to buy another package. Their beds are absolutely top of the line. They have 4 different levels, of beds and stand ups. I started out with a level 3 package and was pale white. I should've started at level 1, but my fiancé didn't know and wanted me to get the best tan and bought a level 3 !! Anyways, the staff was awesome, they are so educated on all the equipment & lotions. They even showed me how to use each piece of equipment ! Most of the girls are so friendly! I listened to all the recommendations they gave on how long to go in each time, which has resulted in me getting so many compliments from my friends and family on how great my tan looks. The salon Is very clean (cleanliness is huge to me) and I love the way they have it decorated. It's elegant yet fun ! This place genuinely cares about the saftey of your skin. They ask to see your lotions and eyewear each visit. I would recommend this salon to anyone who wants not only their moneys worth, but a clean friendly place to relax and tan !!!!!!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! They are crooks! I purchased a tanning package and used 4 out of 8 and they just tell me that the other 4 expired.  And I specifically told them when I signed up that I had just got ripped off from wicked tans in Medway.  I purchased a package from them used like 3 out of 10 and when I went one day the door was closed out of business! So this place never told me the sessions expire in a year. I only use them before I go on vacation and told them that.  I will never go here again ever!!! Horrible customer service. Not a huge fan, but conveniently close to my house. Beds are pretty dated. Level 3 bed has buttons missing, winky's are taped over some buttons, some buttons are missing. Level 4 bed has a handful of bulbs that are very very dim. I only come here for a month out of the year before vacation but if there were a closer tanning salon in town I would definitely rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

I had high hopes for this tanning salon. I originally came here to get a custom airbrush tan and when I arrived all they had were mystic and spray tan booths. Not quite the same. And against my better judgement I decided to give them a second try. So far I have experienced bad customer service where some of there employees are down right rude and others are so pushy. And to top it off, they have it posted on the door and online that they open at 10 on Tuesday's and it is 10:32 and there's still no one here opening. read more

The place is nice but the staff is pretty unfriendly/unhelpful. I came in to get a mystic tan and she didn't explain anything to me before I went in. This was my first time doing a spray tan and she didn't explain the way the lotion was supposed to work, whether to wipe off excess after etc. she just quickly showed me in and didn't give much of an explanation-I had to force it out of her. Went in to buy a gift card for my friend who was going on a cruise to the Caribbean. The process took much longer than it should have. The real problem is that she went in yesterday for her tan, leaving for her trip today, and the machine was broken. So essential my gift was useless. They were basically unapologetic and offered no compensation. Awful. I have found and highly recommend Blush tanning salon in Wellesley and Westboro. read more

I went into this salon for the first time for a spray tan. I called and asked the price, was told it was $25.00 and I made an appointment. Having gone to this chain at other locations I always had a great experience. However, this was not the case. The employee charged me $30, I followed her to the room and she told me to press the green button. I asked for instructions, how many passes does it make? Do I need to do any poses? And turn around? She says," I don't use this". At that time I asked if there was anyone else there who knew what they were doing. She then knocked on the door next door. An older lady came out and told me to press the button. I asked her the same questions and she said," yeah. You can turn around. ". I actually googled how to use the mystic tan machine. Their machine made 2 passes not 4, and 2 out of the 3 nozzles were working until halfway through the second pass when it began sputtering out liquid. I got out and asked the older women for a business card. She didn't have any. I went to my car and sent an email to the website then went back in and asked for the owners name. I said that the girl had no idea what she was doing and the lady proceeds to tell me that it's her daughter and she's not even employeed there. So someone who doesn't work there, was not trained or knowledgeable about the spray Tanning machine, was working the front desk, taking money and operating tanning beds and machines that she had no idea how to use.I got my $30 back. I then got an email from the owner saying that i aid $25 and took $30 back. She also said that they had cameras. So I told her to check the cameras and she would see what I paid. Although the salon appeared to be clean, I was very disappointed in the level of customer service. Last January I purchased a promotional package of 8 visits for the price of 6. I had three left over that I didn't use, so called to see if they were still good since I had a trip coming up. Apparently my package expired the next day, so there was no way I could use the three sessions I had already purchased. Even if I tanned two days in a row, I would still lose one of them. I asked if they would extend the expiration date a week or so, and was flatly told no. She did offer to let me use them if I purchased another 8 sessions. Why would I want to do that when I wasn't able to use the ones I already had. We all know that it is not recommended to tan two days in a row, especially when I hadn't done so in almost a year. She was perfectly willing to let me do that, and still lose one session. I decided to save my skin and forego two sessions. I have had a similar experience at Wicked Tans In Medway, with a much better outcome. I had purchased a similar package, and thought it expired a month later than it did. When they realized my mistake, they offered to extend it for another month so I could get all my purchased sessions in. I didn't even need to ask, they just offered it, saying they wanted me to get what I paid for. Needless to say, I will be back at Wicked Tans tomorrow to purchased a package for this trip and every Annual trip thereafter. I recently visited the salon for a free tan weekend. They quickly pressured us to buy a package and wouldn't stop, they kept adding on saying that the single packet of lotion was not as good a deal and I should buy the bottle for $ 50 and their $29.99 dollar package I wanted to purchase wasn't good for my skin either I needed the $89.00 package with the $12 goggles for my eyes instead of the winkies for 50 cents. First, they rescheduled my appointment. Not a problem and was happy to be accommodating. Traffic was a mess today because of the holiday and I called ahead to say I would be a little late myself for the rescheduled appointment. They said no problem, since they told me the tech would be there for two hours. But when I got there, the technician had been told to go home without even bothering to call to let me know. So they told me to call the owner, Michelle, who couldn't have been any ruder. You have to pay in advance, so Michelle demanded that she would keep my money for the "missed appointments". I told her that I hadn't missed my appointment and was there waiting with plenty of time. I was there with my one daughter for my other daughter's wedding this Saturday and eventually she agreed to call the technician back, which took no more than ten minutes. But Michelle said i would only be allowed to have one appointment, either for me or my daughter, even though there was plenty of time and the technician spent the rest of the time kibitzing. So in sum, i paid double in order to be yelled at by Michelle, treated rudely and jerked around. Next time, I'll just risk the skin cancer. read more
