Hands down the best beach in Oregon!!!! You can drive on this beach also. Seriously, what's not to love about this place?! I want my ashes sprinkled here.

    Wonderful beach.

Wonderful beach. Drive on if you have 4wd or if you have front wheel drive. We found tons of sea dollars...the waves rolled softly in and people are pretty calm and respectful. A beach tent if some type is good as a windbreak...great place for kids to run and play!!! Keep your speed down though...saw my first ever beach citation today.

A very cool drive up beach. I recommend having a four or all wheel drive vehicle before deciding to drive on the beach though it's not required. Would be a fun hangout spot with pets and friends! Saw some people parasailing from a truck.

Excellent beach ! Driving on the beach is great, just don't go too close to the water and away from deep soft sand!

This is a nice beach which is a continuation of the beach that is between the Columbia river jetty and Little Beach in Gearhart.

It was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms and showers were also better than other places we have stayed at. All of the staff were amazing and fun to talk with. Check in was very easy. The store had a lot to offer from groceries, gifts and souvenirs, and camping needs to make your stay more comfortable. There were tent sites, rv sites with full hookup, cabins with and without bathrooms. We went a few days after Labor Day so it was not very crowded (bonus!)

My wife and I are up for our anniversary, but we were out exploring earlier. We drove out to the south Jerry, took pics of the Elk, the Peter Iredale. Exiting Fort Stevens park, is this KOA. We normally LOVE KOA's. Our kids spent many good trips going to KOA's. We've stayed at almost all the KOA's between here and the bay area during Covid. Always nice, friendly staff. Just not here. We stopped in to buy a few soda's and some snacks. As we were getting ready to pay WITH our items on the counter, my wife asked to use the restroom. The cashier told us, "There's no public restrooms" Really? At this point, we're customers. Every KOA I've ever stayed at has the same formula. A general store, pool, hot tub, AND COMMUNAL RESTROOMS. Like I said, this is a pet peeve of mine. This is the CRESCENDO of your life pal. This is the minuscule amount of authority you have in your buddy, to tell ladies who are OBVIOUSLY PAYING CUSTOMERS that they cannot use the restroom. I truly hope someone has a talk with you.

From where we started at Pier 39 to almost the very end at the Port of Astoria, we continually stopped along the way whenever I would notice a spot park or pull over to be able to take beautiful pictures of the landscape and waterfront. I absolutely loved that there were wildlife either Sea Lions or Harbor Seals are laying around any kind of dock or floating device that they could and that you could hear them loud and clear. I didn't take my large camera with exchangeable lenses so I couldn't zoom in too much but seeing and hearing them made my heart happy. The views are just beautiful and worth the extra time to stop.

There are plenty of spots to pause and take in the view of the Columbia, and many trolley stops along the route. I would've liked to hop on the trolley, but we had our dog with us. We walked to where Buoy Beer Company once stood before the building collapsed. It's still there--fenced off, of course. What a shame. The Buoy warehouses remain, though. We had lunch at Astoria Brewery, where they have an outdoor patio--perfect for sitting with our pup. Afterward, we walked over to the Maritime Museum (admission is $18), but didn't go in since we had the pup with us. We checked out the Nordic Heritage Park, which highlights Astoria's huge Scandinavian influence in the late 1800s and early 1900s. We also went to the Garden of Surging Waves which gives tribute to contributions of the Chinese to Astoria.
