We had a Trex deck installed 11 years ago. It was installed by a Trex certified contractor but the…read moreFascia was installed flush with the deck boards and not recessed. Leaves and crud would get wedged between the Fascia board and the deck boards. The Fascia would warp and have gaps at the ends. We wanted to extend our deck five feet and have the Fascia recessed under the deck boards. Lee came out and looked at the job and understood the Fascia problem immediately. He took measurements, checked to see if the decking material was still available and gave me a bid. He and his crew arrived promptly at 7:30 each morning during the job. He had to modify the framing to allow the Fascia to be installed under the deck boards. He reused the existing material and bought new Trex decking and Fascia where needed. He also replaced the old faux rock panels under the deck. He did an excellent job at a reasonable price.

The bid was very competitive and I personally felt it was very fair! We reviewed the job scope, what all we needed done. Alex assured us he was going to take care to do everything, and they did! They did all the pressure washing, removed outdoor lighting, etc, and provided covering over windows and doors, etc., so they could do a good job painting. They even replaced some trim for us that was dry rotted. They took care to replace the boards and caulk them, using the same care I would have taken if I were able to do it myself. The paint crew all were friendly and took time making sure to trim out everything carefully. I was shocked how quickly they got the job done. Many hands made lighter work! At the end, they cleaned up thoroughly and left us with touch up paint. So, if the question is, would I recommend Alex and his family as painters for your next project? The colors and material are great! Ryan was our over-all coordinator and great at keeping us informed on our project, including scheduling, invoices and required changes. He was always our first point of contact for questions and very quick to respond. He was a really helpful person to work with. Mario was our field manager. He handled pre- and post-construction walk-throughs, including working with us on installation details and where all the materials would be staged. He was very clear on directions for us and for the deck builder. He was fabulous! Brett constructed our deck and stair railing. Because this was a small project, Masterdeck used a trusted partner, who was Brett for our project. We were so lucky! He's truly a master craftsman. His attention to detail and construction was fabulous! So many finishing touches that really make this deck perfect (example: finished corners so there no deck ends showing). Never any chaos, no rework and he answered all our questions. We really appreciated him and his skills so much. Having Brett do the work gave us confidence that we now have a high quality and beautiful deck that we can enjoy for years. He made this whole experience for us far less stressful.
