Very good public elementary school. The principal is great and seems to really care about the kids.

The kids learn to be kind, not just towards other humans, but to animals and life as well. And they serve homemade plant-based lunch! It's an absolute dream school I wish I had attended when I was a kid-- at least now I can gift the experience to my children. The future generations will benefit from going to this school w its gardening program, veterinary training, culinary program, robotics and 3D printers, etc. Critical thinking, empathy, and exposure to the old and new educational systems are all delivered here for kids w special needs and the gifted and everyone in-between. It's truly a school for everyone and everyone is invited!

My son attended this school…read morepreviously, and unfortunately, I feel that he was not given the academic support and preparation he needed. Throughout his time at this school, we were consistently told that he was an "A student" and that he was doing very well academically. However, when he started at his new school, it became very clear that his academic performance did not reflect what we had been led to believe. He was significantly below grade level and struggling with basic skills that he should have already mastered. Now that he is at his new school, he is receiving D's and F's, and we are having to work extremely hard to help him catch up. As a parent, it is heartbreaking and frustrating to realize that these academic gaps were not identified or addressed earlier. I understand that every child learns differently, but schools have a responsibility to accurately assess students' academic progress and provide support when they are struggling. Calling a student an "A student" is not enough if the student is not actually mastering the skills expected for their grade level. My son was promoted without having the academic foundation he needed, and unfortunately, we are now seeing the consequences. I wish we had been given a more honest picture of his academic abilities sooner. Parents deserve transparent communication about their child's progress and whether they are truly prepared for the next grade level.

I live a mile away from PHMS and take care of her while mom is at work. I went to the TSMS office and reserved a spot for the 2017-18 school year. I told them my intentions. The Principal's office was within hearing range and Mrs Giles came out to talk to me. She wanted to give me information on TSMS and I was all ears! #1 She made the effort to come out of her office to talk to me. #2 She gave a brief history of the school; the good, the bad, and the ugly! #3 She showed true enthusiasm and caring about the students and bringing the school rating up! I told her she just gained another student AND another parent volunteer who will support and help get the school the A rating it deserves! Because of Mrs Giles, I am now a Level 2 PCS Volunteer. I am on the School Advisory Committee and the PTSA. To date, My Granddaughter has reported back-to-back Honor Roll status AND is active in the Girls Chorus. She's made a lot of new friends and loves the fact that her "Pops" supports her and the other students at school. I loved my career but this volunteer gig is the most important opportunity to me and, obviously, to my Granddaughter! When we get A rating, I'll go FIVE STARS! Go Spartans!

My son is currently in 8th grade. He has been attending Carwise since 6th grade. It has offered him a safe and caring environment where he can learn and grow. He enjoys school and does not complain. He has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to take advanced courses and even high school level courses. This isn't something that private schools can easily offer because of the limitations of staff and class size (our experience). At Carwise he's in a classroom full of his peers taking advantage of the opportunity to take advanced classes. We have had the opportunity to meet with teachers and staff as well as nurse, the security officers, principal and counselors and they have all been very helpful and supportive. Having a son with a severe peanut allergy adds to the concerns of a parent and this school has been very good for our son and has put those concerns at ease. Our son also got involved in a team sport. It was fun and challenging. When we enrolled our son it was B rated. It has been an A rated school since. I do wish the car line moved faster. It lags and this is a minor drawback.

Instead of demonstrating understanding or support, the director was condescending and dismissive. What was especially concerning was that she took it upon herself to diagnose my child as autistic based on her "20+ years of experience." I found this extremely inappropriate and unprofessional, as she is not a licensed medical professional and should not be labeling children in this way. As a parent, I was hoping for compassion, patience, and partnership in helping my child grow, especially since this was his first time attending daycare and he needed to adjust to social interactions. Instead, I left feeling judged and disheartened. I would not recommend Oak Crest Preschool to families who value inclusivity, empathy, and professional boundaries. I paid $225 for the registration and curriculum fee non-refundable, which I worked hard to afford, yet it was clear that the curriculum was never applied to support my child. After only 1 day, my child was judged without a fair chance.

From my experience I can say it is in a safe and convenient location and the owners daughter who was there when my last child was briefly enrolled is lovely to deal with but the actual owner and face of the facility is passive aggressive, and condescending at the very least. Every-time there was a request for anything she refused to accommodate it. For the cost it is not a deal and does not provide adequate services. My last child was attacked and this was the third time in three days, he was left with a deep scratch in his face that is now a permanent scar a year later. He also "fell" into a bookshelf that left possible fracture in his skull and permanent calcification and dent in his forehead. The doctor said it will Most likely never go away (happened 19 months ago) The first two requests on the injuries that had occurred previous to the serious one were dismissed despite my son telling me another kid hurt him. Additionally my son had a medical emergency (seizure) and requested to see footage per the doctors request and they refused to help me obtain this. Lastly to these isolated incidents, I have never felt more unwelcome in a place that I spent thousands and thousand of dollars at. We have switched to a different preschool and it is like day and night compared to Oak Crest, I didn't realize until i switched how terrible my experience over a 4 year period actually was. They really could improve how they treat staff and families and ultimately the care they provide kids.
