Dead plant with no water coming out

I worked with Marcus starting about 2 years ago at my new development house. Only things I. The backyard was the pool we just had put in. And it's a good sized lot plus the front area I had redone. The work went well, and I was pleased. Few months ago I worked with him to add a couple pieces in the back and swap out stuff in the front that they had planted that I did not like and had said I didn't want that type of plant. He replaced them no charge. Didn't even get a bill for the pieces I added that I planned to pay for. But after the moving of plants things started not working right. I have a few plants that have completely died. And have just discovered today the additional sprinkler system he put in is leaking. Half the plants moved aren't getting water and are dead. And I have a puddle forming where no water should even be. I had been concerned that the soil my trees are planted in has shrunk and roots of the trees are visible under. I was told it was fine. After the horrible winds 3 of my palms went down. I had to get ropes and get them reset. His dad came and looked and agreed something wasn't right, but Marcus insisted they needed to root (2 years after planting) I'm afraid these are going to fall on my fence or worse, one of kids or dogs the next time it storms. These trees are meant to withstand winds worse than we got and I'm not going to be able to rope them to my fence much longer. And ever since then it's been silent. I had told him I wanted to do more work on the from April/May to remove the 2 trees that was planted when built and replace with something else, and when I reached out to start the project, nothing. I've text and emailed multiple times. If I don't get it fixed more plants are going to die and my front yard is looking like trash because of this now.

5 stars is not enough for Marcus and his crew at Sunset Landscaping. From the inital meeting to the finish, Marcus and his team were the ultimate professionals. When we met Marcus for the estimate, not only did he listen to what we wanted, but offered suggestions of how to enhance our design ideas. He saw our vision and made it come true. He communicated in a timely manner, listened, and answered ALL of my questions, including maintenance and care of the landscaping. His crew cleaned up daily (even assembling our fence boards back after removing them daily for access) tried to keep the dust at minimal, were very conscious about my dogs needing the backyard at times, and even provided a portapotty for their crew-which never smelled or caused any inconvenience. Marcus matched the concrete beautifully in the backyard and even put a deodorizer in the turf for the dogs. Our backyard is not only dog friendly but spacious and has new outdoor living space. Our front yard was transformed from a desert oasis to the most beautiful yard on the block. Not only did they pour a 3 car driveway pad, but they created beautiful light-up steps, and laid sod with new irrigation. Additionally he allowed us to select which plants we would like in the yard and added custom lighting all around. All we can say is WOW! Neighbors stop by and admire the work, design, and craftmanship. The attention to detail was phenomenal! Many days, his father, Robert, ran the work crew. He was very attentive, answered my questions, set the watering timers and even explained how to get a watering permit from the city to make sure my new sod and plants could receive the extra waterings they needed. Once they began working at our house, they gave us timelines and hours they were working and made sure to communcate with us daily. We chose Sunset Landscaping because they were a one-stop shop-demo & removal, concrete, turf, sod, and design--they did it all! Like I said, these guys are awesome! We cannot express enough how impressed and thankful we are for our yard transformations!

We met Marcus while getting our pool done as he did our pool decking (which he and his crew did an incredible job). He was immediately responsive and receptive to our vision of our front and backyard. He went over every detail, offered suggestions, and provided a quote right away. In the back we got a large retaining wall with lights, new irrigation, new sod, fence around pool equipment, and rocks around the pool. In the front they cleaned up large bushes/tree, put new cement to extend our driveway, and cement steps with lighting. During the construction process, we had great communication and updates on what was happening. Every day the guys came to work, they did an awesome job and worked hard. They were very considerate and always cleaned up after themselves. The process went very smoothly and are so grateful for their amazing work! Definitely would use them again if needed and highly recommend.

Great company who's work is quick & efficient. We've had many guys work in our yard but Marcus exceeds perfection & it shows. He also does follow ups & leaves you w/clear & concise instructions which no landscaping co. ever does. He's the only person we will ever trust w/our yard & we highly recommend him.

Where dirt was supposed to be added, no follow-up

Marcus and his team did a great job for the most part except for the finishing details and follow-up. Marcus and his team covered INE of my sprinklers with a path and also broke another one. They also removed some rock and tree stumps. They filled tree stump hole with sand? It looks hideous. Also where the rock was removed Marcus had continued to say he would come back and fill in with dirt, but never followed up. I had to buy over $200 of dirt and fill it myself. Lastly, he replaced the broken sprinkler which broke again a few days later and we had agreed on sprinkler replacement for the one that was covered without asking by the pathway and he did not do what we had agreed on. I really wanted to leave a good review and like my lawn, but I paid a significant amount of money for mediocre work with lack of follow-up. Three star rating because my path and concrete are beautiful, but he never even finished the job and I've had to spend more money fixing things.

Planted 5 queen palm trees with sprinkler drip line, placed river rock with weed barrier, and poured concrete mow strip.

My wife and I went over several times as to what we wanted a stamp design with a boarder . He ends up matching what we had in the front yard unbelievable I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what they did !! The pitch grade of the cement goes the opposite way at the edges when it rains it's going to flood my storage area . They didn't take the grade down enough because they were in a hurry forming the forms the night befor till 8pm at night ! To be there the next day at7am !! Isreal is a nice guy I hate to give them a bad review they did my front cement and did a good job that's why we hired him again to do our back yard where he failed us just an awful job I almost was going to make an issue out of it ! We are so disappointed with how our back yard came out like the cement they poured goes up higher than the weep screed going on top of the stucco . When it rains water is going to soak up in the stucco and transfer to the drywall inside . The drain they put in didn't work good thing I caught it they rearrange it still doesn't work .. just all in all A terrible job so disappointing we are extremely bummed and unhappy with this job . Will not be recommending royal concrete I think we got them like 2or3 referred clients in the past when we were happy when they did our front yard . They need to slow down and put more quality in their work instead of just giving a Good price and just slamming it out ! Especially concrete this job compared to my neighbors concrete job was no comparison my neighbors concrete job looked clean nice lines like they took time did a nice job compared to ours were they they just dumped the concrete and just spread it out sloppy messy looks terrible !!! They failed on this job poorly executed horrible supervision no order made a mess on the new concrete that was already there couldn't get the stains they left when they were walking on the wet cement then walking to the front with cement on their shoes getting everywhere !! We will never use them again or reference them out to friends family or neighbors .

My husband hired them to put in a barbecue area in our backyard and pavers with trees in the front of our house. Then he suggested adding on some plants by our master bedroom window and behind the barbecue area. That's where the trouble began. All work was approved in August. We decided on honeysuckles on trellises and camellias. The work for the barbecue area and the front of the house went well and on schedule. The area behind the barbecue area and by the master bedroom were not completed. It kept getting put off. The job was started in August and was not finished until the following April. Excuses included that the plants were not available at the nursery that they use. That actually was a bit of a relief since they wanted to plant them in January and I was afraid that they would freeze. Then March rolls around and I ask if we could go to the nursery that they use and pick out the honeysuckles and camellias. There was not much to pick from, but we decided on coral honeysuckle for behind the barbecue area and purple honeysuckle and two white camellias for the master bedroom area. Unfortunately, the only white camellias available were on trellises. I told my husband that it might cause a problem, but if they asked for more money that would be perfectly fine. Unfortunately, no one spoke to us about it. Their answer to the problem was simply to leave out the trellises for the honeysuckles. Now we have honeysuckles that are planted too far from the fence with no trellises. This company is either lacking in communication with customers or does not have enough experience with smaller plants. I recommend them for stonework, paving, and tree planting, but not for smaller plants. Their pricing is very reasonable. Just be sure that they understand what is important to you for example trellises. Also be sure that they don't do any planting in January when your plants are liable to freeze. Better yet just stick to the stonework and paving. They are great at that!

He arrived on time for the appointment, listened to our wants and needs, offered some professional suggestions to enhance our desired results, and provided a quote for the project quickly. Our project budget was just under $90,000. Florentino did a great job of completing the project on time and under budget. He kept us informed every step of the way and adapted to any changes that needed to be made at the last minute. He never complained, kept workers on task, and communicated expectations and deadlines throughout the project. The work done by Florentino included the following: demolition of walls, constructing new walls, installing french doors, installing hardwood floors, natural stone floors, install of all tile shower in guest bath, paint interior and exterior of house, install new side door, pour concrete walkway, new vinyl gate and fence, two alumawood patios (one 6x8 feet, one 12 x 56 feet), electrical work (adding, moving, and replacing outlets and switches), new granite counter tops with new sink and back-splash, retrofitting existing cabinets for new appliances, and hang multiple ceiling fans and lighting fixtures. I am extremely pleased by the work Florentino has done and proud to recommend him to anyone in need of his services. I cannot say enough good things about him, his work ethic, and his character.

I hired McGraw…read moreConstruction to build a fence after reading reviews and their price being competitive from other quotes. I had a good feeling about working with Florentino and the job started off well. He was good about responding to my texts and questions and was timely to start the job. Overall I was happy with the work but looking back there were some issues I wish worked out better. I liked them but just don't feel I got what I paid for. I wish the overall communication with me, as a customer, was better. Florentino mentioned before starting the job that he and his crew does not work weekends. My job began midweek and was told if it wasn't completed by Friday, it would be by Monday which I didn't have issue with. I drove into town that Saturday to check on the progress and was surprised to find Florentino working on it. It wasn't an issue with me but my tenant wasn't too happy since they were having a large family function and was concerned about the work/noise during their event. I wish I knew so that I could have communicated that to my tenants. Per my request, McGraw installed a 4" mow strip which the fence sits on. The fence posts are 6" wide and sticks out past the mow strip, looking off. I am not an experienced fence builder. I would have appreciated being advised to go with a 6" mow strip to have the end result look uniform. The original photo I showed Florentino of the end look, as far as the tiered design going from high to medium to small height (fence in front yard separating my property from neighbors) was not correct, therefore had to be changed twice. This caused him to stay longer now into the early evening because he didn't want to return the next day or Monday and caused issue with my tenant due to tenant needing to get to bed early for work the next day. Communication from Florentino would have been important and would have saved time if I was called to be informed/advised design would need an additional board to be removed in order to match previous design change. Included in my quote was to replace a walk through gate entering my side yard to the backyard. I noticed the boards on the bottom of the gate were not even. Per my request they were cut evenly. How could you not have them even or not notice that?! Then I noticed the original posts for the gate were not replaced and the entire section wobbled. The posts are original and 20 yrs old. I requested the entire section to be replaced. Only the fence boards were replaced leaving the original wobbly posts and the X section boards replaced after I insisted. He explained to me that the posted were not damaged and still in good condition. I felt more like he didn't want to take the time to do it. I would have liked a call saying "Hey, these posts are very loose. Do you want us to replace or leave alone and only replace the fence boards?". A month and half later there are three fence boards that are warped and making the entire design unappealing. Cedar was decided for this job. It's been stated to me that cedar is not the best to work with and looks like the most inexpensive kind was used on my project. It was not communicated to me in the job estimate stage from Florentino the life span and effects of cedar. Not knowing about fencing, I would have expected to be somewhat educated/advised by an experienced contractor on wood types. Unfortunately, it looks like the boards will need replacing within a year after spending over $3,000 for this project. I don't feel McGraw went over/beyond on my job, rather wanted to get it done in the quickest way and charged more than I should have paid. Wish I could feel more warm/fuzzy on this one. Next project I will do more homework.
