SCAMMERS!! MATTHEW PARIS, TONI, AND ALYSSA, AND THE SUNSET MARKETING GROUP SCAM VULNERABLE PEOPLE. I would not recommend this company, I am a single mom of 2 and I called in need of a specific insurance coverage for a specific doctor's office for a specific treatment that I cannot get anywhere else near by. Currently I pay out of pocket $100/week so this agency called saying they could help me get a policy to where I could get covered. The girl I spoke to, Toni, even said she suffered from the same illness as me and could relate (how coincidental) she said it looked like my Dr. Office did not accept any plans they offer but she would call to confirm, she called them (supposedly) and got back on the phone with good new saying I can get this policy and be 100% covered, wow too good to be true right?? I signed up right away on 4/29/24 for a policy to begin 5/1/24. On 4/30/24 I brought the digital insurance cards into my Dr. Office and sure enough, even if I got approval from the provider, the just don't accept government assisted health plans like this co. offers. so since I was given the wrong information, I called back on 5/1/24 and felt a refund of my payment wasn't too much to ask for. The person I spoke to at that time stated that the type of treatment I go to, it's pretty standard knowledge they do not accept their plans and she said it was odd that Toni would recommend this. She said she would cancel my policy and I would receive a refund in 5-10 business day. 2 weeks went by and I called back and the person who answered this time said there was no record of my request to cancel and spent 20 minutes typing to convince me to not cancel. I told her look, I was given the wrong info. I never would have signed up had I known that my treatment would not be covered, why would I want to pay more money for things I do not even need on top of the treatment that I do need... so she says ok, we will cancel it and request a refund. On May 31st I get a payment request for the policy from my bank... so they are trying to charge me for this policy again that I have now canceled twice. I called back and they said oh it shouldn't be charging you that's so strange, lets just cancel you without a refund but we will still look at your refund request and this way it should not charge you. I said great. I waited 30 more days and called back again and spoke to the same girl, Alyssa, who says I have no calls logged prior to May 31st and I will not be getting a refund since I had the entirety of May to use my policy. I now for the 4th time am explaining the situation and she begins to blame me for trusting their information. She blames me for not doing my own research and states that I should have known prior to going into this. When I asked to speak to the manager, she stated she's the manager, when I asked her to review my refund based on the facts provided, she said she doesn't have that authority, I said ok, please put me in touch with that person, she was very hesitant to give it to me but I finally go it and have reached out to them 3 times now with no response. I believe they scammed me into believing I would get coverage, knowing I would not and after they got my money their nice act was all over, I just want my money returned to pay for my continued treatment. This co. scams vulnerable people looking for healthcare. DO NOT ANSWER THEIR CALLS OR ANY AFFORDABLE CARE ACT AGENCIES CALLS, THEY ARE ALL SCAMMERS. read more
