Where can I start, my ex husband passed away September 2025 and my son passed away shortly after in October 2025. First, the team I worked with was very understanding in where I wanted to bury my ex husband, my son. They also understood where I wanted(in the future). My ex husband was a so sudden and Shawn was happy to hurry and find a plot that was near our son. Our son passed away 11 days later and I was back at Sunset Memorial! I was worried about pall bears for my son as our family was aging, aginShawn came to the rescue, he had some of his employees standing by to help our family with the burial. Finally, he helped me with the head stones for both of them! Both of those deaths were completely not expected, so I was really glad that Sunset Memorial was there to help me in my time of need. This is a beautiful cemetery. The grounds are well kept and anywhere you stop, it feels peaceful. The chapel is small in size but is pretty. The cemetery is an older one, so some of the roads need to be updated. The staff are caring and respectful of families in mourning. read more

It saddens me to post, that we buried my mother inlaw on 7/18/25 and went back the next day to find the grave site has a 4 x ft hole instead of a mound of dirt on top of grave site. When we stopped by the office we were told "it will look like this for 6 months to a year". We returned to take these photos. My question is, where is the dirt that should have been put on top of the vault? Why weren't the flowers put on top of the burial site to honor our loved one? We are blessed to know our beloved mother is in heaven! Would it be too difficult to fill in the hole and add a mound of dirt so it is at least be presentable for visits? read more

My father was buried here in 2018, this destination was chosen due to having a long line of family members here. I want to note this is the only reason he is here. My sister and I had never planned a funeral before so there were questions, we did not know to ask at the time plans were made. First off, we were unable to have a standing head stone, apparently in order to have that you must purchase 6 or 8 lots together. So, against our original request we had to purchase a flat headstone. And as we feared they do not take the best care of the grounds, we have to continually removed grass and weeds to keep it from covering his headstone. We are unable to place hardly anything at the site and are charged a fee to place our own wreath at the holidays. This past Christmas it was removed from his grave in less than a week after placing it, along with the ones off my grandparent's graves and aunts and uncles. The man in the office is extremely rude, and acts put out every time you go in or call for something. The office itself smells terribly of cigarette smoke and seems they have no real organization with any of their records. It is heartbreaking that this is the mannerism that grieving families are confronted with at their most vulnerable. Even worse is that you will continue to be disappointed with your experiences from then on out along with watching your loved ones final resting place as it goes unattended the way it should be. They don't even maintain the roads well that go through the cemetery. I absolutely would not recommend this place knowing what I now know. And for what it is worth I highly advise asking lots of questions about any concerns you may have to whatever place you choose because I feel that this is a business where you can easily be taken advantage of under some vulnerable times. My wish for the future would be for better management to come in and hopefully improve the current situation. read more

ZERO STARS. PERIOD! 1. Shawn at the office. Completely rude and dismissive. Acted like his time was extremely valuable. 2. Sent texts messages to me reminding me payment was due by a certain time and he was leaving exactly at that time. He texted me 4 hours before that time to "remind" me. 3. Arrived at my family members burial site but OOOOOPS wrong site. They had prepared a different grave. Not my family. Our headstone was three rows over. EXCUSE ME?? 4. Shawn is contacted on cell phone (speaker). He gets irate on the phone and blames everything on me-the girl who signed the paperwork-because I've done this before. I was aghast at his response and utter lack of respect for my family members. It was outrageous. To say the least. 5. 20 minutes and we will dig a new grave 6. We drove around and come back 7. The work men who dug the grave site, could not have been more understanding or nice. They were amazing. 8. I HOPE TO ONLY RETURN TO VISIT MY FAMILY MEMBERS AND THAT IS ALL. If I could give this cemetery no stars I would. They took forever to place the headstone. Over a year to get the writing and even then it wasn't what we asked for and they got the dates wrong. Their rules on what can be placed at the gravesite is so strict it looks like no one comes to visit their loved ones. Every time I visit which is every few weeks, I and my children pull grass from around headstones of people we don't even know so they are not lost. It pains me to think of all the graves that are covered in grass and forgotten. There's probably hundreds if not more. I highly wouldn't recommend and wish we could do it all over and I'd go somewhere else. read more

The staff is accommodating. There are two separate offices, one for sales and another for administration. I have experienced both. The sales office is very compassionate and speaks clearly about options. The administration office, which I have experienced multiple times over the course of 1.5 years, has been very organized in every detail of the process. Specifically, in regard to stone placement, which does not happen overnight due to suppliers, they were able to give me status whenever I asked. They have a great program for buying a wreath at Christmas time. Upon request, they will purchase, place and then later discard the wreath, which is very pretty. read more

I would give zero stars if that was possible. Worst experience ever. I lost my father very suddenly in March of 2021. The people were incredibly cold when we went to make arrangements there. The only reason we did, is because of much older relatives being buried there. My family was in such shock after losing my dad that we didn't take time to look elsewhere. My mom was so distraught that my brothers and I did all the planning. The lack of communication and empathy was beyond words. Fast forward...10 months post ordering my dads headstone and they still can't tell us when it will be installed. It will be a year next week that I lost my father. All I asked is that the headstone be put in so we don't have to look at plywood. Has yet to be done. Disgusted to say the least. read more

MY grandmorther was the first person I known that was buried there back in 1992. My Granddad was buried in 1993. It was so long ago. My loving morther was buried there 2009. What I can not understand how is people are still being buried there so many years later were are you getting the space. I lost my baby brother in 2021 along with the love of my life were are you all getting the space. Help me understand they are on the same land. They removed christmas wreaths from grave sites weeks before christmas saying that there was a new policy and a $5 per wreath charge to cover the expense of removing them after the holidays. No prior notification, just a small sign at the office. All about the money here. read more

So disgusted with Sunset Cemetery. I arrived about 4:45pm Friday evening. I looked for a sign for closing time because I didn't want locked in. If there is a sign at the gate I didn't see it, only their office hrs. By 5:15 I was locked in. A woman employee found me and rudely told me I need to leave, I told her I was turned around and was not sure were the gate was, she pointed and said go that way and turn. Well there's a lot of turns. She could have taken 2 minutes and let me follow her. She said there would be a man at the gate to let me out. She was pretty pissed when I went to the wrong gate, then she let me follow her, but drove like a bat out of hell! This cemetery controls everything. If you want to lay anything on the graves at Christmas you have to buy from them. And then pay them to remove. This was not the rules when my family bought the plots. We have 8 family members buried at this cemetery and have seen the park decline over the past several years. We feel that they keep the grounds clean and well groomed, but their rules/regulations are getting out of control, especially at Christmas time. I just called and was told that they are now charging a fee to place a wreath at a grave sight. Christmas comes but once a year and I would guess the majority of families that have loved ones here, have good memories of sharing the holidays with them - and would like to continue the memories, even if it's taking time to come and visit and decorate. I know it helps our family get through this time of the year. At $5 per wreath for 8 family members, it is getting expensive. I'm sorry, but I believe at this time of the year it should be about remembering and honoring our family without having to worry if you are exceeding your budget or placing anything there that will be removed immediately after you leave. read more

The grounds of the cemetery are nice, but the woman we purchased a plot from, was horrible. She was rude, and acted completely indifferent. When it came time to pick a place for our only son to be buried, she acted irritated that we were looking for the perfect place in the cemetery. When I made a comment that I liked a certain head stone, she even commented that she didn't like it. Dignity and respect are important when you're dealing with a loss, and this lady had none of it. Our son's death was very unexpected, and we were on a time crunch, so we ended up going with Sunset, but I would urge anyone who is struggling with a loss, who is reading this review, avoid this cemetery. If your experience is anything like ours, they will make a horrible situation even worse. read more

I have multiple family members buried here, and until recently I thought it was a descent place to visit your past family members, until some rude person who works here made a huge scene about me and my niece being there past closing, threatened to call the cops, and went on to say it was private property, instead of nicely asking us if we could follow him out so he could lock up. Rude, and traumatizing. If only I had known this is how I was going to be treated before I had family buried here. read more
