So many different ethnicities. Worship experience was amazing. The Holy spirit was present. I felt so comfortable to let go of my insecurities and fully surrender in worship! I also loved that they have a Royal Kids experience for my son who is six years old. The pastors stood at the door after service and greeted me...and actually took the time to talk to me and make me feel seen and welcomed. They had a crazy amount of serving opportunities within the church and also out in the community, like county jail ministry and feeding/supporting the houseless. After a few months I made the decision that this was the community for me and have gotten plugged in. It's an incredibly diverse group of imperfect people, relying on Jesus, working together to love and support each other, to serve the community and to reflect Christ's love and desire for EVERYONE.

She wrote about trying to raise serious concerns, encountering silence and defensiveness, struggling to reach senior leadership, and finally leaving a direct conversation with the head pastor feeling more dismissed than understood. At first, I assumed this might have been one unusually difficult relationship. I no longer think that. I have been a Christian for almost my entire life. I am only new to Reality SF, but what I encountered made the pattern described in that review entirely believable. The same contrast is visible: a church that speaks fluently about compassion, justice, belonging, and community, yet makes direct pastoral access remarkably difficult when someone brings a real concern. You do not have to trust either review. Check for yourself. Attend several services, then try to move beyond the polished Sunday presentation. Ask how to speak with a pastor about something serious. See whether you receive a clear path to an actual person or are redirected through programs, forms, and generic responses. If you raise a concern, watch whether leadership addresses the substance or reframes the issue as your expectations, perception, attitude, or failure to understand the church. That is the same institutional pattern the earlier reviewer described: the concern remains unanswered while the person raising it is made to feel like the problem. Look at who consistently occupies the room, not just who appears in carefully selected photographs. Ask attendees how many genuine relationships they formed, whether anyone noticed when they stopped attending, and what happened when they needed pastoral care rather than another sermon. The building is impressive. The services are polished. The room is full. Those facts are easy to verify. What is much harder to find is an equally visible path to accessible leadership, personal care, and genuine community. That is why the earlier review matters. It does not read like an isolated complaint once newer attendees begin encountering the same structure from a completely different starting point. Try to move from audience member to known person. If the path remains unclear and your concerns are turned back on you, leave before you waste months believing the problem is you. A full room proves that people attended. It does not prove that anyone was shepherded. This review is not an invitation for leadership to contact me, manage the complaint, or attempt to repair the church's image privately. I am not seeking a conversation or resolution. This is not a misunderstanding that can be fixed through another carefully managed exchange. Please respect that boundary.

A healthy church should build people up, respect boundaries, and communicate directly--not operate in ways that make people feel unsafe or targeted. This is a great church if you have a family, make it your only social circle and are completely aligned with their beliefs - which are quite conservative for SF. However, as others mentioned, it is very cliquey and not progressive around the queer community, race and gender. It is their right to define their community pillars as they wish though it is a missed opportunity to not fully love and embrace others as Jesus did through his radical love. It is also challenging to get involved if you are single and newer, as most people have attended for decades and know each other. Even after a few years, you may still be kept at a distance. To each their own!
