My husband has had three different surgeries at this center, including one for a ruptured bicep…read moretendon. He's a handyman by trade and over the last thirty years he's done some damage. We have always had a great experience at this center. The front desk team is professional and friendly. The nursing staff is top notch, and we were impressed by the level of before and after care. For his last surgery,(knee arthroscopy) we were out of network for the facility, but the office staff (thanks Chris) there worked with us so we did not have to change surgeons or go to the nearby hospital which would have been a huge hassle. The facility itself was spotless, and the reception areas and other rooms look almost brand new. We would recommend having an orthopedic procedure here, the service is much more personal and the experience a lot less stressful than some of the larger facilities.

That is the only reason for 2 stars. That being said, there were major problems on surgery day. While I was there there was a visit by a state representative. Perhaps they were preoccupied behind the scenes with that, but I will never know. I received a total nerve block to my arm, and then was sent to the operating room and prepped completely and given the anesthesia. I was then awake and talking with the anesthetist who began to tell me we were in a holding pattern waiting. Waiting?? There was a piece to the equipment that was needed to perform my surgery that was missing. WHAT??????? They were unable to locate a replacement piece and my surgery had to be canceled for the day. These things are supposed to be counted and checked when the procedure is completed(the previous surgery) and initialed. So, someone was negligent in sterilizing and repacking the endoscope. Luckily no incisions were made prior to the discovery but I was put under anesthesia for no reason. I am a nurse and have never heard of this before. Oh they were all apologetic but that doesn't fix it. I need to complete the procedure, but I will NEVER go back there again after this is done. My physician was not at fault directly, but he does partly own the surgical center... PLEASE ask to go somewhere else!!!!!

If you need any help with Breast Cancer screening to surgery, Dr. Peter Blumencranz is the one of…read morethe best Breast Cancer Surgeons/Doctors, in the US, to see for Breast Cancer. He is brilliant and saved my life. Even if you live far away, but it's your first BC surgical need, give his office a ring. Dr. Blumencranz did a gene assay test on me to biopsy my lymph nodes on the breast side with cancer, during surgery, to see if any other lymph nodes were cancerous. What this meant was, he did not need to dig around in my arm pit and remove all my lymph nodes during my first or subsequent surgeries to take out more or all lymph nodes. This alleviates the need to have multiple surgeries, and limits the need for removing healthy lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are needed to support your body's lymphatic system which regulates fluid, toxins, etc. The lymph nodes may have cancer cells, and the biopsy of all lymph nodes on the side with cancer, is a critical process necessary to stop the spread of breast cancer. This test also has a higher rate of accuracy, and improves detection vs. the traditional surgical methods. This procedure was approved by the FDA in 2007. Dr. Blumencranz spent years developing and testing the surgical biopsy process of the lymph nodes. He had already been a surgeon for 25+ years when I saw him. Dr. B has also travelled around the US to introduce this procedure to other Cancer centers, and help train and support other surgeons so more breast cancer patients can have this procedure done. Make sure you research the procedure for yourself, read all the material, and ask all the necessary questions, as with any surgery. Make sure you also get tested for any potential allergies for imagine dyes, like a blue dye. Reason being - so you don't have an allergy to the dye used to biopsy the lymph nodes during surgery. My mother has an allergy to any dyes administered via IV. Which covers dyes used in MRI's, CAT Scans, etc. Mother would not be able to have this type of biopsy of the lymph nodes, for example. But those of you who do not have a dye allergy, should be ok. Just remember to ask about it, and maybe find a way to get pre-tested if the Doctor requires. I don't know what that may be, but just want to bring it up just in case. All my best to all women with their breast health. For those of you who haven't had a mammogram yet and you are under 40/years, please discuss with your primary doctor. 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer. If your family has a history of any cancer, or if you pursue getting the breast cancer gene test, getting a mammogram at 30 or 35 should be considered. My cancer started growing when I was 35. I didn't get my first mammogram until I was 41, and when I finally got it, I had a very large tumor, which was growing for 7 years (est by the cancer team). Below are some articles covering the Gene Assay test for the Lymph Nodes during Breast Cancer Surgery, and additional research and work that Dr. Blumencranz has published in 2014 at a Cancer Symposium in Miami Florida. "He does not do surgery just to do surgery." (He did my neck during Covid. That's how I meet him.) Repeat: I cannot say enough good things about him. His team is 100% cooperative with HIM in surgery pre-op, and post- op care superior. After I saw Dr. Davidson / Andrew (awesome) He is also on his team. Also, Joseph Hanson assisted in surgery . I suffered quite a while with my spine before. Finally decided to go in and talk to Dr Davidson with MRI fall 2025. He told me the pros in the cons of what I could expect to achieve. He delivered 100%. I Have to say I was Cranky on my 1 post -op visit./my x-rays looked great, but I was Cranky. March I went third visit. Everything has settling in beautifully. When He showed me my x-rays a second time, it was more than 100% beautiful. All the bone spurs were removed. The vertebrates looked perfect. I couldn't ask for a more competent, compassionate, patient , and experience surgeon . The pre-op and post -op care =excellent. Thank you, Dr. Davidson, Joe, also the anesthesiology team, and Andrew, no words can express how I feel. Dr. Davidson is definitely the Spine Man . Morton Plant-BayCare Hospital Clearwater Fl. Excellent care!! I wish had known about Dr J. Byron Davidson prior to my first Spinal surgery in 2006 (Davenport/Haines City Fl.) I would have had a total different outcome. Do your homework. Gifted Surgeon's are truly hard to come by. Don't get put off by all the people in the waiting room.
