Twas a nice dating spot for many and it was a nice private spot for us as no one was there due to the weather but the thick fogs made our visit majestic in a sense! Cool place to be! Quite a short distant to walk down from the hill top parking lot! :) Wanna go when the weather is nicer next time

My GF brought me to here on valentines day. She even managed to sneak a small bottle of champagne with her. What awesome views after a short not too strenuous hike. There are quite a few steps for those that have trouble navigating stairs. But well worth the views. Just be careful near the end as it is a straight drop off of over a thousand feet.

The view was unbelievable! It's a pretty short walk from the small parking lot. It seemed very unassuming pulling into an 8 car lot in the middle of a very nice neighborhood at the top of the mountain. We hiked the short walk to on e of the best views I've experienced. It feels similar to the Grand Canyon being so high up. There are no fences or guard rails so please be careful with children there. My wife and I loved it.

We started at the top and did a little reverse hiking. Overall the trail was okay, our dogs did good. Tons of activity/runners while we were out, and several routes to choose from.

Sunset was our first stop since parking at Glenn falls was hard coming from the direction we was coming from! So we started here! The hike was soo much fun and the view was amazing, from start point to the view it was about a 5 min walk!!!! Then from the view there's different trails that you can take down hill. The down hill hike is pretty easy!! We hiked for about 30/45 mins hit a map which I can't remember what the stop was named, then turned around and headed back up hill to take one last view in!! Such a beautiful view! Check out the photos that we took on our hike!!! Definitely a spot to stop at! Then make your way to Glenn falls!!

Spectacular views! You can see far and wide across Chattanooga, and then some. It's one big rock, however there are several places to stand so that not everyone is crowded together all in one place. There's a quick path that leads from the parking spots to the viewpoint. It's not a challenging walk down, but if you're not in decent shape, you might need to catch your breath on the way back up. My recommendation is to wear some shoes with good grip. It's not mandatory at all, but this viewpoint has a very quick and steep drop off. So unless you plan on staying quite a ways back, wear some shoes with good grip. I didn't go quite at sunset, because I wanted to see everything clearly. However, it was close enough that I think that the sky and scenery will be painted quite beautifully as the sun goes down. You don't need to be decked out in all hiking gear for this. I went in jeans and a t shirt and most others were in their every day attire. Challenges There's not much parking that leads directly to the viewpoint. However, if those spots are full, you can park down the hill a bit and walk up. You're there for some exercise anyway right? :) Maybe, maybe not. It's not that large of an area, so if you were to go on a busier day (not sure when that would be), then it could be quite congested. Therefor the possibility of you getting very clear pictures without others in them could be limited.

Amazing amazing amazing! Took my Gf here as a surprise and did my research for this, I'm going to help you out so much on this and you will be so happy just trust me! -Great view and amazing amazing time, we stayed in Chattanooga for are anniversary and did many things and this was k e thing she didn't know about so let me help you out on some things I should have known! 1-Make sure make sure when you look up on the maps for this address, that you use google maps and look up the exact address, even if you need to zoom into the map and make sure this isn't leading you to the wrong small trail that will lead you to a dead end! (I didn't make this mistake but I know many have! THE MAP ON APPLE MAPS ARE WRONG!) 2-Make sure you search and plan of when the sun set or sun rise will be on that next day or the day you plan on going! For example the sun rise was at 8am and we left at 6am to get there in time! The sun didn't rise completely until 8:45 to see the complete beauty! 3-Make sure when I say this do not wear high hells! Do not wear Sandler only where casual walking shoes and something durable! Also I made this mistake, where a freakin jacket! Even if it's summer! Make sure cause boy it is cold and when you wait for the sun rise it is so so cold. 4-There are limited spots on the rock! When we got there not many people maybe 8 people total were there, which was amazing so you can take lovely pictures and it's very quiet so please don't be the people who are screaming! Be polite and respect the beauty of nature and silence, yes talk but just low of course. 5-Bring snack of course in case your hungry, granola bars, sandwiches, drinks. Not a whole cooler but you know a book bag with something to munch on of course. 6-Okay listen and read this with detail! When you arrive for the love of god, you will drive up and up and up and take all these long very long roads to where you skip all the long paths to walk which is great, and arrive finally to a destination where a log is sticking out the ground that says Snoopers rock I think. This looks like the only place to park no do not park, just drive your car truck or what ever down the path until you get to the furthers parking spot, we made the mistake of walking cause I thought the signs said no driving. There is a gutter spot for parking that's so much closer. -Other than that, hope y'all have fun, plan the sun set or sun rise and have a beautiful time!

we hiked from point park (entry fee and maybe parking feee needed), it's a national park so it's nice to walk through by itself. you go to the back of the park, towards the monument. go down the path for the museum. when you reach the museum, there are some more stairs down and then take bluff trail to sunset rock. there are lots of stairs, be warned. most of the hike, in my opinion, is easy, mostly flat. the first part and the last part get a little difficult (mostly walking stairs/rocks or going up hill) can be a little wet at times. it's a really nice hike. it's around 3-3.5 miles round trip. beautiful at the top!! there are several ways to get here so you can pick other trails which are maybe free and shorter, we wanted to get a good hike in so we did this. i think it's worth it. we had a great time. the top gets busy and elbe careful, the cliff at the end has a direct drop down so watch children and just be cautious. you'll see people rock climbing in that area as well, which is cool. it's mostly a shaded hike but you do get some direct sun. wear good shoes. take your time it's pretty! great pictures, highly recommend.

This place is truly beautiful. I took pictures here as my sister's boyfriend proposed to her. I read the yelp reviews (thank goodness), and we were able to park in the tiny lot at the top and skip the long walk. It was a breathtaking view and since, there was no crowd, I got some amazing photos of the proposal. Definitely visit! Type in the address into google maps, NOT apple, and it will take you to the Parkinglot at the top.

This might be one of my favorite hikes ever. It's short, just 3 miles if you're going out and back, but for such a short hike it packs a lot in. The path itself is fairly easy although there are some steep drop offs in parts, and some areas where the trails gets narrow. There was a small section towards the beginning that has some very over grown war monuments (If I remember correctly), but the warnings of poison ivy kept me from exploring them too much. Tall rocks jut out high above and around you alongside a lush green landscape, lots of things to climb on and little crevices to peer into. And the reward at the trail head is majestic. I must have stayed on top of Sunset Rock for close to an hour, taking in the open blue sky, the Tennessee River, the hills covered in green trees. This is definitely worth making a trip out to.

Despite how cloudy it was on Saturday, we got to see some beautiful views. It's great seeing vegetation again. All of that green. I will definitely be making multiple trips here throughout the year or the weather permits.

We stumbled upon Sunset Rock completely by accident. While exploring Point Park, we found this path that led to what we thought was the trailhead for Sunset Rock. Let the adventure begin! This is not too difficult but also not for the faint of heart. The trail isn't paved, so with the wet weather from the night before, some parts were a little muddy or wet - be prepared to walk through or jump over some large puddles if that's the case. The view at the end is SO worth the seemingly endless hike. There are several different spots where you can see what feels like the entire world. It's beautiful and worth conquering (ok, tolerating) my fear of heights. There are no barriers that will stop your fall, so please be careful. My fearless friend ventured toward the edge and took some incredible pictures, but if you're like me, don't take the risk for the sake of the 'gram. Sunset Rock is an absolute MUST when visiting Chattanooga.

The rating system could use a little tinkering imo. There seems to be a big jump in difficultly between some of the colors which was a little disheartening and I was a little offended by the names assigned to the different skill levels when I went. The space here is huge. Good sized bouldering area with no climbing boulder in the middle. This allows you to see the whole climbing area which is different and I'm sure it makes it a great venue for bouldering competitions. There is a really really nice advanced climbing area with a large spray wall and a few techie boards like a Moon board and Kilter board. I wish I had these in my local gym and this is definitely the nicest training area I've seen in any gym so far. There is a decent sized weight training area with free weights. The restrooms are pretty nice as well. Beside the normal restroom things you will also see showers, a changing area, and even a little area made to wash your feet. I didn't get to explore the Ninja area but it did look pretty realistic, challenging and fun. The people who work here are nice and helpful; I regret not spending more time talking to them and gaining some climbing wisdom. All in all this place is catered to upcoming and experienced climbers. A little surprised to see no top or lead climbing with a gym of this size. If I was new at climbing I might find this gym to be a bit challenging.

This place is absolutely amazing and so much fun for both kiddos and parents! Since we stayed at a nearby hotel, we walked about a block to the museum but there is plenty of parking available behind the building but I am not sure about the cost. We arrived just as they opened and the staff member that assisted us was super sweet and because it was my son's birthday, she gifted him with free admission which was a huge win for our budget. As soon as walked into the actual museum, the first thing my kiddos saw was the water area which of course the only thing they wanted to play with. The water area is setup in a way that kids can play with toys, learn about water conservation, build bridges, and have a wonderful time prior to getting into the nitty gritty of all the museum has to offer. They have aprons so my kiddos weren't drenched but just know that area gets a bit congested. There are sooooo many things to do from art to a robot car build and challenge to playing musical instruments. There is also a fun little outdoor space with a cool play area, fun artwork, and games. We had sooooo much fun and it is truly a wonderful place to try and learn new things. There is also an area for the tinier ones where they can "ride a tractor", take care of bunnies (stuffed of course), set the dinner table, cook, and do other household chores. I mean there is soooooo much to do and so much fun to be had. I cannot recommend this place enough and I promise by the time your leave, the kiddos will definitely have a blast as will you!

On our second visit to Chattanooga we had no doubt we were going, so we set out to find this place! What I did, for reference, was punched in "Prentice cooper" into google, and came up with the address: 3998 Game Reserve road, Chattanooga TN 37405. This address gets you on the trail, which turns into a gravel road. Continue to drive, passing a shooting range, tower on the right side of the road, and a small cemetery on the left. You'll finally see a clearing with fence and a gravel road that branches off to the left. We walked down this gravel road after parking, but there was a large pick up truck and a couple bikes already down there so you CAN drive down this way. I have an AWD suv, but I also saw cars coming in and out so it's accessible to most vehicles I think. The view, once you see it, is as grand as you can believe. The Tennessee meanders in and out and around in front of you, which is stunning to view. This IS one of those 'at your own risk parks', I say this because while my girlfriend and I were there, there was a deep pit in my stomach that would swell every time one or both of us got close to the edge. There's nothing to hold on to and there's no rails. Pro tip....don't fall! Prentice Cooper is a must if you're in the Chattanooga area. I'd love to see it in the fall when the leaves change, but whenever you can go, DO GO! Easily 5 stars!
