This morning my car had 3 flat tires, so not particularly happy today after being sent off yesterday thinking all was well. I called and spoke to Jeff and first he asked me if I could bring the car down. I said yes after I pumped up the tires. Then he said they couldn't do it today or tomorrow as they were fully booked. I understand this is a busy time, but then to be further told by him to go elsewhere when I trusted them to make sure they were leak free and good to drive on is extremely annoying. Why is it so hard to find a good tire shop in Nanaimo? Just heard from the new shop (not the one I am complaining about) that none of the tires were on the bead (I think that's the correct terminology) so had to be removed from the rims, the rims cleaned, and had to be reseated. I was prepared to pay for that yesterday but not today. I had told Jeff I had just purchased the rims and tires on Marketplace. He looked at the tires on my car and the ones on the "new to me" rims and advised me to keep the tires that came with the rims, which according to the shop I went to to fix the bad bead issue were from 2012. I can only assume this was to spare the time to remount them on the new to me rims. Did he not know that yesterday? And how, in good conscience, could you send me off with those tires which the new shop showed me were cracked and old? At least now I will have new tires too. You lost a sale on that too, Kal Tire. Thanks for doing a horrible job and possibly putting my life at risk. If I'd gone on the highway like this, I shudder to think what might have happened.

He said just let me have a quick look under the hood. He found that my air filter had not been put back properly and that is what was causing my issue. Watched His staff mess up from the start, while putting my vehicle on the hoist, apprentice crushed the rear heater lines, Dave tells my at bill time, my vehicle just started to leak anti frozen while there. A lye. Later after vehicle back in my possession i driving a friend home, heard something hit vehicle under front middle and rear underside of vehicle. Two stop signs later my brake pedal goes to the floor. And my eyes go wide. Front Wheel hub & bearing job was just done by them. Took it back that night. Following day i go to pick up and i get told the rear drum brakes, the brake Adjuster fell off. Really, another blatant lye. Brake adjuster not able to fly out of brake drum if it came off. Heavy grinding noise and grabbing rear brakes would have been apparent. It was not. E brake and brake pedal would have been different upon returning to me. E brake no diff. Did not hold, no change at all! Neither was there a change in brake pedal travel. So whatever had happened was hydraulic in nature, not mechanical. So as the front calliper was just re and re'd for the hub n brg, obvious it was a Front calliper support bolt that was not installed / tightened correctly. Thus allowing for one to fall out, go bouncing under the vehicle, hitting undercarriage and causing the noise heard just prior to the brake pedal catastrophically dropping causing no brakes. The Gripe is that In both those instances Dave charged me for their Blatant mistakes. Adding together it was over $550.00 in parts and labour for those two Mistakes they made. I guess The lyes he told me happened to be the free part!! Ha! I could go on and on, because there is more. However i will not! I will however Finish by saying again, i am ecstatic to finally see that business gone from Nanaimo. I feel we residents of central Nanaimo are far better off without those smug, nice smiling, ohh so easy to bill high, lye and overcharge people.

A couple of days ago, I brought my virtually brand-new, 2020 Porsche 718 Spyder into the Porsche dealership in Victoria, B.C., for its first scheduled oil change. The dealership was very professional to deal with (or so I thought, at the time!), and I picked up my vehicle, little more than 3 hours later, work complete. On route to Tofino, where I planned to escape for the weekend with my wife, an indicator light came on in the dash, advising me that my oil had been overfilled, and to contact the dealer immediately, which I did. The representative from the dealership made a variety of excuses for what had happened, but, reiterated what the warning light had said, that it was still safe to drive the vehicle. With this in mind, I cancelled the rest of the weekend, and headed back to Nanoose Bay the following day, where I would decide on the best way to move forward. After describing the situation to a good friend of mine, who has owned numerous Porsches, he told me to immediately take it to European Specialty for a proper assessment. I called his contact, Tom Zieba, the company's Service Manager, who told me to bring the vehicle in right away, and they would make time to check it over. In retrospect, they did far more than this, and carefully removed and measured the oil in the car. In addition, they documented, through text and photographs, every step in their investigative process, which determined that the Porsche dealership had put almost one full litre of oil too much into the car, which, as most people know, can be disastrous for the longevity of an engine. Despite accommodating me on a last-minute basis, and spending several hours working on my car, they charged me literally a fraction of the money to properly install the correct amount of oil that the Porsche dealership charged me to screw it up in the first place. As a result of this, European Specialty Automotive Services is a company that I would confidently refer to anyone who is seeking first-class, reasonably priced and friendly automotive expertise.
