Newly remodeled and beautiful on the inside and out. The staff was very nice and friendly ...even when we stopped late at night to get a room!! The prices were reasonable compared to others in town. Mixed good/bad. First the bad. Because of the mixed Yelp reviews I asked the front desk guy to show us a room before we decided to stay there. He acted a little annoyed (and he wasn't busy). Then the door mechanism was really hard to turn - my wife couldn't open it by herself, and I could just barely (I'm 6' 3" and over 200 lbs.) and the front desk guy acted like it was just fine. But there was a lot good... The front desk girl in the morning was great, very helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and attractive. And the breakfast was simple but really good. Fresh biscuits, eggs were good and the coffee was great. All in all, I'd stay there again, but they could up their game on customer service and maintenance. read more

Alright, so I'm not one to write reviews, but I felt that this needed to be said. After a long trip from Michigan we decided to stop here for the night.. Went in and checked in, everything was fine, the accepted my therapy dog and my other dog.. everything was awesome! Well... It all started when I walked in the room, the window blinds were open and the ac felt like it had been running for hours. I immediently got into some shorts and jumped into bed, my initial thought was since the ac was running the bed was cold.. Well after 25-30 mins of sitting in that bed it never got warm. So that's when I got up and felt the bed and it was soaked, but barley seen any stain. That's when I pulled back the sheet and there was a 4ft by 4ft man sized piss stain covering over half the bed. I went to the front desk, and as kind as I could, explained what happened,and then he asked if he could come see... He came and saw the stain and said "Are you sure it wasn't one of the dogs?" MIND YOU, MY DOGS ARE BOTH UNDER 10LBS. Immediently I was insulted. The rooms lighting was so bad, you could barley see a thing. It wasn't until I started talking flash pictures with my phone that I could see how horrible it was. I immediently went to the front desk showed him the picture and said "This definetly wasn't my 5LB dog who pissed that much." He said okay "Can I come back and take a picture myself?" I allowed him too. He came back 5 minutes later and said, all I can do is give you new sheets. At this point all I said was "I'll let you know" and slammed the door in his face. Think about it, If I were to put fresh sheets on a wet piss stain, they WOULD JUST END UP GETTING SOAKED IN PISS. And I voiced that and he just looked at me and "I'm not sure what else I can do". After talking with my boyfriend for 30 seconds I immediently went back to the front desk and and demanded a refund, we had only been there 1 1/2 hours total. He said, he couldn't give me any of my money back. I was so mad at this point, he finally said, I'll call my manager. He did and he gave me most of my money back, other then my $25 pet fee. At that point, I was so ready to leave and go to a new place and shower off SOMEONE ELSES PISS that I accepted that and walked off the property and went to the Holiday Inn down the road, best decision I've ever made, and plus, it was about $45 cheaper then the Super 8. I will never take my business to any other super 8. read more

First time to stay here and everything is nice and clean and comfortable. Convenient store next door for a quick snack and drink. There's a Wal-Mart just a few miles away for anything else. Our party arrived in Cartage on July 27 2019.We enjoyed the hospitality and friendliness of the shift manager Ashley so much she made us feel like family.Rooms were clean,beds ( I had a king) were comfy and clean,everything was in order as much as any hotel at a very reasonable price ,with 24 hr convenience store next to the property. There were even butt cans outside some of the rooms for the smokers.Breakfast was served early the usual bfast menu you find in most hotels. I recommend this place for a quiet (nothing but crickets at night) nights rest.. Thank you Ashley for making mine a pleasant stay your humor/wit was fun. San Antonio visitor :) read more

This hotel is in need of attention despite its recent upgrades or maybe it's a newer building, idk. But it's not in good shape at all honestly. We stayed in a room on the bottom floor. The grounds were not kept up. However, the employees were very nice to me and even came to our room to spay the stain in the shower. She told us it was hair dye. I know this is not a high dollar place, but it just made me feel itchy. Whether it was actually skin irritations or all in my mind idk. Would NOT stay there again. I usually don't stay at places this cheap but the reviews weren't honest. Sorry guys. Giving 2 stars bc the employees were nice that's counts for a lot. The room: It was a smoking room as that's was all that was available. Single king bed: stains in shower and patched hole in tub. Stains all over the carpet. Cigarette holes in comforter. Curtains had holes all over it and was not even attached properly to rod and I had to climb atop a table to jimmy-rig it so people couldn't see in the room. read more

This place robbed my bank account of money months after I stayed there. They went into my account and took out for a night saying that I stayed there in October and that services were rendered. This was today that they did that. We checked in in October and the AC was busted and we were told that if we wanted to leave they would refund us so we did. They refunded may account then took it back months later saying services were rendered. They are full of it and authorized my account without permission. read more
