The Rueben was a bit soggy on the bottom side--probably sat a bit before delivered to my table. Friend's lunch plate was chicken salad on a croissant with a salad with the homemade ranch dressing. It was good as well. The accompanying broccoli soup was a bit "flour-ish" & just ok. Locals were enjoying this place so you know it's a good lunch restaurant. And the drive was not bad at all, only .9 miles from our home lol, if it weren't for the tree line we could see our back deck from The Corn Crib! I had been in email contact with her for quite awhile as I had to reschedule several times, she was always accommodating and very professional! Absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. The details in the design and interior decorating are amazing! My wife and I would love to build a home like The Corn Crib, only a bit larger in places. We spent 20 minutes walking around just noticing the small details that made all the difference! My only concern was the bed. My wife and I are used to a California king bed. I'm 6'3 230 pounds, my wife 5'0 125 lbs, things get a little tight in smaller beds, but by no means would the bed size prevent anything less than 5 stars for The Corn Crib! We chose to stay local to help out our local businesses. We finished up our day by going to West Hill Brewing here in Indianola for a few beers, followed up by a pizza from Bricktown. Definitely come to The Corn Crib if you get a chance!!

I have called the reservation line & they told me that I "should" get an email in 48 hours but I AM TIRED. No sleep since 4:30 am. The management was no help at each step. The only thing they helped me with was the dirty towels. This hotel is not even full. The "manager" or blond haired lady told me to find my own customer service online. No compassion for someone who is terribly tired and underserved. We spent over $300 staying here - and need some customer service. Is there any or is this it? My final review - Stay in Pella. It is not that much further & you will get way better service. And...don't fall for any deals made on the website - each site is privately owned & refuses to participate. Caveat Emptor

We set out to have a quaint, one day escape to check-out the Pella town square. The hotel has a wonderful location that walks out to great shops and modern eateries. Having worked in the hospitality industry for more than ten years, my number one expectation is good service. The Royal Amsterdam went over and beyond! Our check-in was personable, smooth and left us with no questions. Lucia checked us in and made us feel right at home. Our package included wine, chocolates, flowers, movie tickets and a gift certificate to the restaurant. The wine, chocolates, and flowers were waiting for us in the room and the rest was waiting for us at the front desk when we were ready to use them. The sparkling wine was delicious and the chocolates were local, which I loved! Our room was clean and quiet. The rooms aren't the most modern, but that's the feel of the whole hotel: historical charm. We had a microwave and mini-fridge, as well as a Jacuzzi tub and a large shower, as well as access to underground (heated) parking. We ate in the restaurant for dinner. It was more casual than we expected, but the food was home-style and delicious! We ordered the mussels for an appetizer. They were a little small in size, but tasted great. We both ordered steak and it was done perfectly. The side dishes were amazing (even after being reheated later the next day). They don't have a wine list, but do offer several varietals by the glass. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the Royal Amsterdam. We were looking for a quaint, historical setting where we could easily explore the area and have a relaxing weekend and found all of that here. The staff was incredible and accommodating in every way. One of the front desk ladies even went out of her way to find us some ibuprofen despite the fact that there wasn't actually a pantry!
