We stopped here for a quick overnight stay. Room was very clean as was the rest of the motel. Served a nice continental breakfast. This is just off Interstate 80 so you do hear the traffic from that but it was not disruptive. You can see gas stations and fast food places from the motel. There are restaurants but you need to travel a short distance to get to those. Staff was friendly and courteous. read more

Ignore the one star reviews - I will speculate on them at the end of this positive review. My brother and I were driving from Canada back home to Virginia and decided to stop halfway and get a motel. Jeremy met us at the desk - he was very nice and professional and even gave us menus for local places to order food from. Our room was spotless, comfortable, we were so grateful. The hotel in general was quiet and we had a lovely dinner and rest. In the morning, Susie greeted us very friendly and the continental breakfast was set up nicely and on time. The only guests in the dining room were hard working road workers getting ready to start their day. Now, about the one star reviews - I suspect there is a campaign by locals to spread fear about "foreigners" who own the place and for whatever reason, the owners are disinclined to rent to locals. It could be the locals were trying to use the motel as a party place, a place to trash and act up - I really don't know. But if you read those reviews, you will see they are pretty over the top. I hope this place continues to flourish because the people who work here are so nice and I'm sure they like their jobs! read more

Awful owners and guests I have never felt that intimidated or scared at a hotel in my life. Sexually harassed by guests hooting and hollering in the parking lot hallways, when complained owner called my elderly mothers room who was also scared and yelled and intimidated her over the phone and said we had no right to be scared, all foreigners, so then we were more scared. I have never felt like I could be raped and I think it would have been covered up. I couldn't leave my room after that was very scary. Locked myself in and stayed until the parking lot was empty the next day and left will never go back, ever ever. read more

I absolutely do not understand how this hotel has any positive reviews. It is the dirtiest, most worn out hotel that I have stayed in over 30 years. The mattress sags so badly that the middle is probably 3" lower than the sides. The chair is filthy, and the carpet is so dirty I won't walk on it barefoot. The sheets are literally threadbare and yellowish though they are supposedly white. It cost me over $150 and I seriously considered just walking away since it was non-refundable. Dont even think about getting a room there if you're a local of the county. They will refuse you service. I walked in expecting a room with two beds and a bed couch and a shower when I got there we asked for the room and they didn't have the room they advertised on the booking website!! When we asked for a different room they said 7 were unavailable at the moment and they were blaming us locals on everything that happened to their motel. Unfortunately they even lied to us about everywhere else in Clearfield pa wont take locals but i went to a different hotel that was basically beside the car was and burger king and the super 8 and they told me they take locals. We needed a place to stay once we were beginning to grow tired of the road. We happened to be in Clearfield and chose the Super 8. The staff was unobtrusive but courteous, the room was adequate, and we were on our way the next morning. Further down the road I realized I had left my hat which was a gift from a good friend. I was sad to have lost it but accepted it was gone. On our drive back we happened to be taking the same route through Clearfield and on whim decided to stop just in case someone had found my hat. The clerk was polite and checked the lost & found for me, but the wrong hat was brought out. Just as I was leaving, one of the house-keeping staff yelled to come back; they had found my hat! They had bagged it with our room number and left it to the side on a shelf. That was very considerate of them, and above and beyond the call. Thank you! read more

Whenever I'm in the Clearfield area I aways stay at the Super 8 Hotel. The staff is the most accommodating and helpful from when I arrive in helping me with my luggage and check in. Each staff member remembers my name from my staying there so frequently. Suzy helps make sure my room is set up for me since I am handicapped. She helps me in the morning with making my waffles and coffee. This may seem simple to some people but being in a wheelchair and not being able to reach a countertop, it is a nice thing Suzy does for me in going out of her way to be courteous. This lady seems to be working all over the hotel from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast in the morning. I'm not sure if there isn't anything she can't do in this hotel. She always has a smile on her face and makes me feel that she's happy to see me. Jeremy is a wonderful man who looks out for me when I check in. He helps hold the door open for me and rolls my luggage into my hotel room. Jeremy asks how things have been going in my life and he's genuinely interested and not just making small talk. I consider him a friend. When I may need ice or a snack at night Sonny is always there to help me at the vending machines to make sure, I can reach the buttons, or I don't' spill the ice which can easily happen using one hand. These might seem like trivial things to people, but there aren't when you are someone who is handicapped. I wish more hotels were as wonderful as Suzy, Jeremy and Sonny at Super 8 in Clearfield PA. read more

This was the dirtiest hotel experience I've ever had. My bedding was dirty and smelled so bad that I had trouble sleeping. There was a clicking sound all night from an appliance or something even though I unplugged the AC. It was possibly the fridge. And there were dirty razor blades left in the bathroom before I checked in. Customer service has done nothing about it. I don't expect much but I count on a clean room and this was far from it. read more

Heartless hotel. I booked a refundable room through Priceline which needs to be canceled 7 days before the trip. I tried cancelling on the Priceline website but ran into an issue, and could not contact Priceline until I was within the 7-day window. Priceline did not help and said the hotel needs to make an exception, but the hotel denied it. I tried contacting the hotel directly to ask for a request/favor, and was informed that only the General Manager (GM) can approve cancelation, but he won't be available until Monday (May 6th). I asked the staff if she can contact the GM and she gave me a vague response saying: let me email him and ask him to read his texts. Multiple other reviewers have had similar reported experiences, and this is either a coincidence or something the hotel staff sadly hides behind. My mother had an unexpected medical issue and needed a surgery, and both Priceline and the hotel don't seem to care and are hiding behind "reservation policy." I made another reservation through Hotwire, and they gave me future credit to use. I am done with Priceline, and I would avoid this hotel based on their lack of empathy and help should you run into issues. read more

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW. I recently stayed at this Super 8 and it was fantastic. The lady at the front desk went out of her way to give me a nice room in the back, as I had requested. The room was large, clean, the bed was comfortable, and I didn't hear a peep all night. No issues with the room, no noisy, inconsiderate guests, and the shower was great. And I saved $50 vs. staying at one of the other local hotels. Very large parking area. I could not get the wifi to work so I used my smart phone and the mobile hotspot. Not sure what the issue was, maybe I was given the wrong code or whatever. Might wanna check with them about that when you check in. But ehhhh, my stay was great so i'm not gonna fret over the wifi glitch. read more

A great option and price to be near Benezette (Elk County) in order to view the elk during rutting (bugling) season. It was about a 40 minute drive. The price was fantastic. I searched multiple sites for the best price then AAA matched that price and gave a small discount on top of that. (Full disclaimer: I work for AAA but your price is the same as mine if you are a AAA member.) I arrived in the afternoon, checked in, then headed to Benezette -- the visitor centor -- to take pictures of the bugling elk and did get great pictures this time of year. Then I headed back to my hotel while it was still light out so the drive back was good. The man at the front desk checking me in (and he was the same man checking me out of the hotel the next morning) was so warm and personable and most helpful. COVID-19 precautions are in place with an electronic temperature reader at the front desk, plexiglass at the counter, and masks donned by staff and patrons. I will say that this Super-8 could take a lesson from another Super-8 I stayed at recently by having pre-bagged breakfasts to go. Instead, it was business as usual for selecting a few items -- an individually wrapped honeybun and a yogurt container and some orange juice. Still happy with my experience. My room was nice -- a single King-size bed, microwave, refrigerator, and room safe, and free wifi. Most importantly, everything seemed very clean both in the bedroom and the bathroom and the bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, and makeup-remover pads, along with a hairdryer. In this particular Super-8, my room was upstairs, reached thru the interior. There are plenty fastfood restaurants and gas stations nearby. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my stay. I truly do think businesses right now in the face of the pandemic want our business and do their best to make us happy. This one definitely succeeded. read more

Driving all day until after midnight, was able to reserve a room within literal minutes, check in was less than 2 minutes, I had my pets which were allowed with me for only $25 extra, and honestly it was so nice. Like I'm sitting here eating their free breakfast and wanted to make sure people knew how nice this was. O ly critique I can think of is maybe having a few bigger towels in the bathroom (definitely not a big issue) but otherwise absolutely wonderful and very much needed. read more

Room was clean but unfortunately upon waking I had clusters of bed bug bites on my right leg, back, neck and arms. The morning desk person Suzy on checkout said there's no way as their exterminator had recently been there. I make 14-hour trips to Ohio from New England (and back) 2-3x a year. If I ever need a midway place to stay, I'll definitely come back! For $80/night, I was very pleasantly surprised. This is THE best motel I've ever been to. I scoured Hotels.com for a local hotel/motel that accepted pets... and Super 8 Motel was the only one that popped up with availibility. I booked a double queen room for three adults and called half an hour after I booked in order to request a pet-friendly room. At first, I was off-put because the lobby and common area left much to be desired (again, for the price, this is just a small caveat), but to say the least, the staff was great (Barb the check-in receptionist was kind and informative) and the room itself was comfortable for those of passing by and needing a quick night's rest. The beds were comfortable, mini fridge and microwave were included (this is usually extra at other hotels), everything was clean and the bathroom was awesome (great water pressure, clean curtains, spotless floors, ample towels, etc). Also, I LOVED the assorted breakfast spread. It was definitely above and beyond what I was expecting. Note: there are complementary cookies and juice available until 11pm and free basic breakfast from 6am-10am. Pets are allowed to stay, too! It's only an additional $5- SO cheap compared to what I've paid at hotel chains. read more

Not happy with these folks, and I haven't even completed my stay yet. I reserved a room and somehow (probably my mistake) reserved one that was smoking. I personally can't stand sleeping in a smoking room. I tried to change it to a non smoking room but they informed me it would cost me $74 extra!! Now here's the kicker. My smoking room was for a King size bed. They have a Queen size non smoking available that is listed for $80 less than the king size room. I told them I was willing to downsize which you would certainly think was to their advantage, but there is no way I was going to pay $74 more for a lesser room. Now that is what they might call customer service, but I have another word for it! BS I'll be more careful when making my choices in the future. I'll give another review when I complete my stay, but we are not off to a good start. read more

I wouldn't vacation at a super 8 but I still want a good nights rest while traveling from NJ to Ohio and we definitely got that here. My fiancé & I stayed here because it was close to the 322 drive in movies but we were very disappointed. The room smelled terrible when we got there. My fiancé thought it smelled like wet dog but the front desk denied any pets were upstairs when we reported bad odor. Front desk woman gave us a bottle of room deodorizer. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so that may be contributing to the musty smell in the room from steam. The bathroom was not cleaned before our stay. There was long black women's hair in the shower, on the floor, & on the sink. We cleaned the bathroom ourselves to feel comfortable using it. There was not any breakfast available as promised on the website. No book to say when it was. Only coffee was there with cups, without lids. The Wi-Fi did not work either. Their were stains on the bed sheets. The bathroom light wasn't working properly when we arrived but thankfully my fiancé was able to fix that. This hotel stay was very disappointing. We found this place while driving back from Illinois to New Jersey. We were tired and knew we only had about an hour or so left in us before we should stop for the night. We have a 50 pound hound/terrier mix name Honor who's well behaved, but can be a challenge when looking for a place to stay that's both pet friendly and doesn't have much of a pet fee. My wife found this place online and we were surprised by the positive reviews. Not that I'm trying to say anything bad about Super 8's but they aren't necessarily always on everyone's top 10 lists of best places to stay. This property has slowly begun to change my mind. It's clean, convenient right off the interstate and the location seems not only safe but has plenty of gas and food options around. The room was clean and the bed provided the right amount of comfort for a good nights sleep. We appreciate it and will mark it on our list of places to stay the next time we're road tripping. read more

Prior to staying here I had NEVER found a hotel that I could take a bath in. EVER. And this bathtub had so obviously been cleaned since the last shower (yes you can tell if you look at the right angle) that I WAS ABLE TO TAKE A (non-squicky) BATH!!!!!! While travelling between OH and NYC we needed a dog-friendly hotel as a midway stop. We bring our small dog everywhere. Because we frequently travel, she's very good in hotels. This Super 8 was exceptionally clean and well cared for. It's priced right for cross country travel stops. It's right off the highway, yet quiet for sleeping. The grounds were well lit, so I was comfortable walking the dog after dark. We were on 2nd floor, and our room faced the town, not highway. We had a small fridge and microwave in room. They accepted pets. The gentlemen at the front desk were friendly and polite, giving a recommendation for a local light dinner. Breakfast was OK, not great; but we weren't there vacationing, we were passing through. At the prices, we expected coffee and light meal - and this met our expectations. When travelling across PA we will certainly plan this as our mid-way overnight. We highly recommend this as an excellent stop. read more

Our first floor room had a bit of noise from all around, not too well insulated between rooms or floors. Room was clean enough, no noted issues. This place was very cheap. The room was clean, the bed was firm and comfy, there was a mini fridge, microwave, and television. They also had wifi. The bathroom was also clean, and had a pretty nice shower. Everyone who worked there was quite friendly. It was right off the highway which was convenient. There was also a continental breakfast in the morning, but we woke up too late to investigate it. Definitely a great find and worth the cost. I would certainly stay there again if travelling by. Downsides: Very thin walls. There was not much noise the night we stayed, but one could certainly hear what was going on in the next room if there was a ruckus. Great place to stop along Rt. 80 going cross-country. I asked for a quiet room and they gave me one tucked away on the second floor. Bathroom shower was great...hot and high-pressure. Breakfast was good, they had oatmeal and yogurt, which makes me happy. Only negative comment is that the WiFi was slow and did not work in the breakfast area. I have to say that this was one of the best hotel stays I've had in a long time. The front desk attendant in the evening was very nice and hospitable. The room we stayed in was gorgeous, complete with a microwave and mini fridge, plus magazines of stuff to do in the area. The bed was pretty much the perfect comfort level, which says a lot because it usually takes me a while to get comfortable in hotel beds. I was out like a light a half hour after laying down. The shower had decent pressure and plenty of hot water. I think my only complaint was the fact that the bath towels are small, but they got the job done. Breakfast in the morning was well stocked, and the coffee is some of the best I've had from a hotel. Trust me when I say this place is well worth the price you pay. I don't live too far from here, so I'm keeping this place in mind if I need a weekend getaway with my husband. read more

It's not the best hotel ever, but for a budget hotel everything was great. I only had a one night stay but i had no issues. The rooms were clean, the tv worked great, and i had no issues with the wi-fi. the rooms come with mini-fridges and maybe microwaves, i can't remember. they include a free breakfast that has less stuff than other places, but they do have a waffle maker that put out a great product. definitely consider staying here if you're in the area, and check out the Dutch Pantry across the street. read more

It's a motel, so it's obviously not a five-star hotel. We were stranded by a snowstorm in rural Pennsylvania and found this right off of the highway. Our expectations were very low, but we were amazed by how clean and comfortable it was and how kind and welcoming the staff was. I'd rather avoid motels except in emergencies, but if I ever need to break up the trip between Ohio and the Northeast again I'll definitely stop here! When my siamese cat Tony flooded our house we spent three months at the Super 8. It was one of the bright points of a really bad time. I had a room with four cats and my sister had a room with one cat who needed to be isolated because of a virus. The rooms were clean, neat, well appointed. Staff was AWESOME. They were always careful not to let my "kids" out, and took time to talk to them when they cleaned. It was really great having onsite laundry. Restaurants and stores nearby. Right off the interstate. Great to be able to have my kitties with me instead of having to board. thank you all read more
