I understand this was miscommuncation but we were there in your hotel, someone could have honored the coupon as there was still room availability. Also, I was quoted $287 for the night by the attendant, only to find the same room on Booking.com for half that price. Attendant offered no apologies only attitude. Two strikes your out. We frequent State College annually for THON, so taking my families business elsewhere.

I made my reservations to ensure I had a room because it's worth going here. Focus on homey and a typical hotel stay. As someone whose stayed in hotels 1/3 of this year thus far, I'm not new to this. Hotel breakfast is a typical eggs, meat, grain with yogurt, milk, coffee, breads/muffins and that does the job for me! However, the location is great! Near Planet Fitness, Aldi's, Walmart, Sheetz, and more so it's ideal for those who need to run errands after a long work day. I feel safe and it's quieter in this area. I enjoy solitude so it's great to come back to feel comfy and not cramped in this hotel. They maintain a clean outside as well! Highly recommend for your next stay in State College.

Stayed over this past New Year's Eve and were pleasantly surprised with free garage parking thanks to Downtown State College and were even able to check in early around noon! They cant guarantee early check in due to fluctuating guest numbers but it never hurts to ask. The ladies at the check in desk were very pleasant and helpful explaining everything included in our stay and some area attractions we might like. Our stay included free breakfast, a perk that makes the extra cost worth it to stay and to our surprise the hot items change daily! One morning it was pancakes, hashbrowns and sausages/ham, the next cheese omlettes, breakfast potatoes, bacon. They always had staples like yogurt and fruit, oatmeal, cereal and bagels and coffee and tea so there was something for every taste. The women stocking the bar was very nice and answered any questions we had about the food. Again we had a large king room, comfy bed and plenty of room space and a large bathroom. Only room complaint was there was an awkward partition in the room that made it strange to talk if someone was on the couch and other on the bed. Felt like I was talking to someone in another room. That's a very cold first impression.... You should have somebody at that desk, checking people in with a secondary location available on the second floor. For security reasons alone.... That is a big mistake. I have traveled across this country and to many other countries.... You never walk into an empty lobby with a sign on a desk. miserable fail..... I took the elevator to the second floor to check in. You need to know your license plate number which I didn't. Therefore, I had to go back downstairs through the cold lobby outside to get my plate number. This place does not have its own parking and they make you pay for the parking deck across the street. They do not own that parking deck, so it is packed with just anybody... Very inconvenient.... I've been coming up to Penn State since my son became a student 20 years ago and then I subsequently bought rental units. I do not usually stay at this hotel, but my Hyatt card allowed me some free nights at this place, so I took them. Your room key also works the elevator. That is quite bizarre. I am familiar with a room key, giving you access to a penthouse or restricted floors but not every floor. Are you worried about Security? Why don't you put a member of your staff at that empty desk in your lobby? You know where that large staircase is leading up to the second floor? Somebody with ill intentions can easily walk into your lobby walk right up the steps to where people are gathered at the bar or the restaurant.... July 5, 2026 Headed to the second floor for their breakfast. I have to start a painting job so I was there at 6:30 when it opened. The buffet was very clean and well organized. Food was good. Then I headed to the front desk, where I spoke to Martin about the television set. I told him I had already called the day before a few times. He said he would have it checked. I went to work. I came back at 4 PM. I could not get into the parking garage. The card that they gave me suddenly stopped working. I called to help button and they told me to cancel on the screen. I did that and it offered me a ticket to pay for parking. So now I will have to bring that to the front desk this morning before I head out to work. When I arrived back at my room, my room was not cleaned. I had to call the front desk and ask for towels and coffee. They came up right away. They did not leave me any bottled water for the coffee. I called the front desk. They told me they do not give out more mini waters after the first day. It's literally two bottles of miniature waters that might add up to one regular bottle. This place is supposed to be considered upscale in this neighborhood.... Im from the city so upscale has a different meaning for me. I would not stay here again for one very important reason only.... That entrance point into this hotel is open to anyone and everyone. There is nobody on the first floor to check anybody. That is a HUGE security breach in a time where Security needs to be at the forefront of our minds.

Garbage cans are near walk areas. Clean Women's bathrooms (6 stalls) Hand dryers and foam soap. Information area with maps and brochures for your travel guide. Kenny was the employee working this morning as we stopped in on Tuesday June 25th @ 8 a.m. The office door was opened and he was kind enough to step out and chat with me plus he answered 2 of my questions about this building. Well stocked vending machines with snacks, candy, gum, and "Soda" PA talk for pop. An area with a special hot beverage machine for coffee, tea and hot chocolate for those winter travelers by car, SUV or those hard working semi truckers who need a comfort relaxing place like this one ! A * 4 star * stop in by opinion with future stops when leaving Pennsylvania for sure. I'm sure I will change my stars to 5 when we stop here again in the Fall of 2019. The breakfast was the usually faire with waffles (no powdered eggs...) but sufficient with a nice seating area with plenty of natural light. The staff could have not been nicer, and this was refreshing and made a big difference. And all this comes at a pretty fair rate, which is becoming rare in State College. Overall, if you need a place to stay with many positive aspects and a reasonable price, this is it.

There was a small couch, tv, and the 2nd bed (full size). The steps to the loft are quite steep. We didn't let the two kiddos under 5 on them. The cabin is fully furnished. All the linens, and towels were there. Plenty of pillows & blankets as well. There is an outside fire pit with tables and chairs. You can purchase wood there for $7 a bundle. The grounds have shower houses, a swing set, a kennel fence to contain pets, lodge cabins, and overnight cabins. The lodge owners, John & Liz, are super nice. They were on the grounds daily to repair things and clean. They stopped by once to let us know Elk were up on the main lodge's yard. We saw a good many elk in the area, none near our cabin tho. We were told there are a few family of bear living around the cabins. We didn't see them. However, you could find random pieces of garbage with claw & teeth marks, and the dumpster has obvious bear damage. There is no cell phone reception anywhere on the camp grounds, and there is no wifi in the cabins. There is wifi at the main lodge, you just have to ask for the password. The nearest cell reception is roughly a 1.5 miles up the road from the camp. Its only a few bars, however. There was a motion sensor light on the one shower house that was directly across from our cabin. It would detect out movement when we were at our firepit. It also would detect every movement from the firepit of the trout lodge. It was nice for loading & unloading the car at night, but was annoying while having our campfire. There are a few signs posted around camp that say to call John & Liz if you need anything. Only problem is, no phones. They should install one in each cabin for emergencies, even if they only connect to the main lodge. The camp had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay. If we are back in the area, we will stay again.
