This hotel had bed bugs and when I talked to the manager she was rude and told me she thinks my husband brought them to her hotel. He had slowly been getting bites while staying there and when he sent me a photo yesterday I did some research and told him it appeared to be bed bugs. He tore apart the bed and sure enough found them. They refused to heat treat his clothing that was near the bed. I called to speak to the manager and she was unprofessional and demeaning towards me. She insisted it was my husbands fault for not letting them clean the room. He has stated they did in fact clean the room. We are not the first bed bug complaint, even though the manager on the phone said we were. read more

If you're into dirty toilets when you're traveling, this place is your jam. A couple of other minor mentions, the room I booked said it would have a desk. Yeah, there's no desk. Whatever, that's fine. The mess on the toilet is the bad part. read more

Pros: I really like the artwork Super 8s have added to their rooms in recent years that feature pictures of local scenery. Some other likable touches include an interesting staircase and a stained glass Ben Franklin. I'm a softie for quirks like this! Rooms provide coupons to the Green Mill Restaurant & Bar just down the road. There's also a computer in the hallway which I'm guessing would be a plus to people with poorer eyesight that don't like to strain their eyes on smartphones. Friendly staff and some of the clientele was also quite nice. Cons: Not quite on the level of seedy, but it has the potential to go down that road if some improvements aren't made. First of all, DO NOT advertise rooms as non-smoking when they clearly smell like smoke! It isn't even the unpleasant smell I'm concerned about so much as the dangerous toxins that get trapped in the fabrics- that is a health liability, especially for people with underlying conditions. Also, try to be more consistent with your rooms and prices. My room didn't have a microwave and my friend's room did, yet we were charged the same amount. Smokers crowd around the entrance to the hotel which makes it impossible for non-smokers to not inhale the poisons. Not cool! It also sounded like a rowdy party was going on which was keeping me awake. The excessive smoke (did I mention I hate second-hand smoke?) and rowdiness combined with the hotel's dangerous location right on the Interstate exit gave me a sketchy vibe. Reading other reviews, it seems the majority of customers had a much more positive experience than me so it's very possible that I just caught the hotel at a bad time! I know a lot of businesses tend to be more bare bones by the end of the summer. read more

The looks are deceiving. Upon pulling up i went "uh oh"! From the outside it looks like an old beat up motel. Then I walked inside. The place was in excellent condition. Extremely well maintained. The beds have 1000 thread count sheets on them. The entire staff was extremely happy and friendly! I watched the serviceman disassemble an air conditioner and vacuum the insides! That level of detail shows throughout the entire place!! A special mention to the young lady at the front desk Shannon. She Went above and beyond to accommodate my elderly father by ensuring his room is cleaned in time for his naps. This level of care is unheard of anywhere else I've stayed! Well done! Stayed here on a last minute decision. We drive a semi across country and we stay at a lot of hotels. I must say this is the most pet friendly hotel we have ever stayed at !! They only charge one pet fee, we have three pets ... They also gave all three of our doggies goodie bags containing a food/water bowl a bottled water and two doggie biscuits ! They offer a trucker/CDL discount plus the have big truck parking.. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, looked to have been remodeled recently. Bed was very comfortable. Cable TV with HBO free WiFi. I would have given a 5 stay but the room did not have a fridge or microwave. But for the price you can't beat it Would stay here again for sure PS if you stay here you must try the restaurant Green Mill across the street. An amazing Italian restaurant. The pizzas are great the Walleye was breathtaking and the gyros were outta this world !!! They deliver to the hotel plus the hotel give you a discount coupon !! read more

This is a gr Super 8. Good service, decent breakfast, and really nice staff!!! Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Went to check in and there was a sign on the front desk that said helping others please call from headset. Person came from the room behind the front desk. We got to our room and was not as stated. Was supposed to have a mini fridge did not. Went back to the front desk and she says "I'm not sure why they say that only a few of our rooms do." She was shown the reservation where it clearly stated mini fridge. Later in the evening walking to our room you could smell smoke. I mean from someone smoking but it wasn't cigarettes. The entire hall smelled like it and the smell started coming in from under our door. I made a comment about not knowing this was a smoking hotel and didn't know it was legal in Minnesota. AC only worked when it wanted. Read the instructions set it like it said and it would kick off every 10 minutes. Then would kick back in 20 minutes later. The room was very clean however. The price wasn't bad either. Went to check out and another front desk person was so frazzled by what the lady in front of me was doing about her rewards card she didn't want to hear about things. Over all will NEVER stay here again. When we tried to tell the staff they just shrugged us off. read more

This is definitely a "you get what you pay for" type of place. Nothing fancy, nothing trashy, just a bed to sleep in and pot to poop in. They are in the process of remodeling and we were lucky enough to get one of the renovated rooms. The bed was incredibly comfortable and clean. HBO was a TV option. And the continental breakfast in the morning rocked. However, the toilet was missed in the cleaning process. For a cheap room, this isn't too bad. read more
