Would not stay here again. The sole saving grace were the staff. Look, I get it. It's a Super 8. I'm not looking for Fancy. I'm not looking for amenities out the wazoo. But what I am always looking for in a hotel is clean. This place looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in ages. The walls had crud on them. Toilet seat was broken and dirty. Caulking in bathroom was filthy. Every corner had a quarter inch of dirt. The desk was smudged and disgusting. The desk chair had something spilled on it. The bottom of the tub made me want to wear shower shoes. Nothing was dusted. See my pics. And this all REMAINED after we complained and were told the cleaning staff went up to address the problems. What has happened to this place? I have stayed here many times in the last twelve years, but won't be staying here again. The place isn't the Ritz, but it was decent for the money . But this recent visit was certainly not worth $150/ night! There was no clock in the room, only one outlet for plugins, the mattress was falling off of the box springs, and there was no coffee/ coffee pot (which was always in the rooms before). The previous breakfasts were adequate with waffles, cereal, bagels and coffee cakes and beverages. Now there's not enough food to be called breakfast! On the plus side, the ladies at the front desk are very sweet. Stay at the Super 8 in Gettysburg! It's cheaper and so much nicer! read more

If this place had -5 star rate that's what it would be.... All of a sudden a hotel that wants to ID every guest. It's bad enough it's a rundown hotel with no future plans to renovate, but the prices are decent. I just need a place to sleep. But where on the freaking policy does it say my guest need ID. Yes, my ID for check in is understandable. Travel from California and booked months in advance but because I didn't have my senior mother's ID because my sister had it .... They wouldn't let let me stay. EVERYONE HAS TO HAVE AN ID!!! Because if law enforcement has to get called for some reason they have information already. To me that's invading privacy. No policy on the website or at their front desk. Don't waste your hard earned money here. This hotel has easy access to your private information if they want to ID check everyone. If you are just looking for a clean place to rest your head, this place is for you. If you are looking for any sort of creature comforts or amenities, carry on. The two hotels I usually stay at while in Hanover were completely booked and I was visiting for a last minute trip. Super 8 was the closest thing available, so I booked it. I went through the corporate travel agency, and booking was a breeze. This place is pretty clean inside & out. Much nicer than some of the other Motel 8s that I've seen. Check in/ out took a little while, but only because no one actually sits/stands at the front desk. The free wifi was quicker than expected and easy to access. Rooms were clean. Clearly re-done within the last 10 years. Bathrooms are super small. Bed was actually pretty comfy. Pillows were very flat. Nice size flat-screen tv. Good size mini-fridge. Like many other reviewers mentioned, the carpets do have a variety of stains. I think if they steam cleaned them every now and then, the rooms would look a lot newer/ nicer/ brighter. The walls are paper thin, so I only fell asleep when the guy down the hall stopped sneezing, the cricket outside my window left, and my neighbors on the other side of the wall fell asleep. But I did have a good sleep! Continental breakfast was pretty sparse (compared to what I've gotten used to with other hotel chains) yet still acceptable- coffee, 2 different types of flakey cereal, bread (for toast), yogurt cups, and 2 different sized waffle machines. Everything seemed to be mini-sized. I had to get up about 6 times to drink what would have been 1 cup of apple juice. I'm torn between 2 stars and 3. This place is very clean and decent for the price, but it does lack amenities. read more

Not sure when the stairwells have seen a vacuum last. Stairs and hallways were dirty. No smoking signs posted everywhere yet the Person working the desk is sitting in the office smoking a cigarette. I understand that this is a discount hotel but this falls way below the Wyndham standards. read more

The halls were filled with smoke from people smoking weed. The one bed in the room had hair ALL over the sheets. The other bed had semen on the comforter. The couch was covered in dirt and stains. The towels were used and dirty, folded up and put back on the shelves. The maid woke me up and I told her I was trying to sleep and she said "no sleep" and proceeded to try to try to enter my room anyway. DISGUSTING. DO NOT STAY HERE read more

Non-smokers please stay away so that this hotel remains forever as a SMOKING hotel. Christina says they are going SMOKE FREE soon. Small hotel that appears to be infested with long term losers living there. When we checked in they gave us a room that when we walked in was occupied. Got a new room and it was dirty to put it Best, sticky dresser, squeaky shower, the main door sticks and makes a god awful noise every time. At night you would see the long term campers outside smoking and appeared to be up to no god with their junky ass cars filled with shit. I would give this a strong 3.7 stars if could. It is clean for the most part. When in a city where the larger hotels are not within range. This one has proven to be worth the money. Few stains on carpet but aside from that it is great. If they took the time to change the carpets this place be a 4 star easily possibly get some 5's. Location is great. While the staff here is great and helpful, the facility--meh. At this price point, expectations aren't super high, but c'mon. Very dirty carpets, broken chair at desk (and said chair was FILTHY), broken exhaust fan, bathroom lights out. Super 8 Hanover was much better than my previous experience with Super 8! This hotel was clean, staff was courteous and attentive, and it was surprisingly quiet despite being in a busy areav of Hanover. I was a little worried because their price was about half of what comparable hotels charge, but I found nothing wrong with this hotel aside from the fact that it is in a busy (but safe) part of town with no trees or shrubbery and the fact that the carpets were dingy. Breakfast was typical standard continental breakfast, which was fine. Definitely worth the price! read more

Don't waste your money. This place is filthy, the bed is uncomfortable and worn out, and the furniture is falling apart.

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting family. No complaints. WiFi was free, although not super fast. Beds were fine. Rooms were clean. TV was large and functional. Continental breakfast included cereal, yogurt, cinnamon rolls, toaster waffles, juice & coffee, etc. A/C worked just fine. No complaints. read more

I don't have high expectations for Super 8. That said, this hotel is older and I stayed it several times 20 years ago. So I knew it would be showing it's age. That said, the room had an odor and the carpets were stained. All in all, it was a $60 room that they charged $100 for. I checked in very late. Julie, the desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I asked for a late checkout, which she cheerfully gave me. It didn't help though, since room service knocked on my door 30 minutes before the regular checkout time. When the front desk clerk asked me about my stay, I mentioned the room service interruption. Instead of, "I'm sorry," all I got was "uh huh." read more

For a budget hotel, I found this place to be great. My room was definitely clean, you couldn't hear your neighbors, the location was good and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was eh, whatever and the coffee was basically water, however, they did have a waffle maker and that's all I ever want. I was impressed anyhow overall. When staying in an "affordable" hotel, there's usually something that skeeves me out, but not here. I would definitely stay again. The town area was nice too, lots more around than I expected. I ate at a authentic Mexican food truck and it was excellent. (turn right off of Wetzel, go left at light and a bit down on the left is the food truck, check it out). read more

Nice place except the smoking. The minute you walk in the doors you smell the cigarette smoke. As we walked down the over heated halls to our room we could see the smoke in the air. Our room isn't as bad ass the hall but we also keep the fan running the entire time. The bathtub is a bit beat up and there are some odd spots on the wall. Outside of that, they are friendly, accommodating, and have a great breakfast! read more
