Had to pay $100 for a night to stay here, and let me tell you, it's not even worth half of that. I had booked my reservation for September 3-9 a month prior to traveling. My grandmother was paying for the room since I was back to see my family for a week. I had arrived around 10-11PM on the 3rd after driving 9 hours. When I checked in they tried saying my grandmothers card declined, so I had to pay $100 for that night to stay because that was the "weekend rate" and my reservation rate was void because they "needed to verify the card", although she had already done that twice. I was too tired to deal with it, so I just went to the room and went to bed.
Anyway, the hotel as a whole smells like a mix of sweat, wet popcorn, and what is probably black mold. The "bed" was hard as a rock, I would have rather slept in my car. The shower curtain had yellow stains on the outside (most likely pee), hairs in the shower, pubic hairs on the toilet, and a black stain in the middle of the carpet. I didn't take a shower there, I would have felt dirtier after showering in that shower than not showering for 3 days.
I went to the front desk the next morning to ask for a complete cleaning of my room or a different one because I was staying another 5 nights, and to ask for a refund for the $100 that I paid, because the original rate was $39 cheaper- and the room wasn't worth $100.
The man at the desk looked at me as though I was ignorant when I was explaining how gross the room was, he also acted as if he could care less. When I addressed the reservation issue, he tried to tell me that since the card wasn't "authorized" when I arrived on my check in day, that I now had to pay their "weekend rate" for my stay.
I went back to my room and packed, found another hotel in another town, and left. It's cheaper, taken care of, and the worker's are much nicer.
If I could give the Super 8 in Pella, Iowa, a rating, it would be a big, fat 0, but, unfortunately, I have to give it at least one.
